The graphics and sound design are really cool, sometimes its hard though, to see where you are falling, when falling down. I love the graphics, great job!

Graphics and sound are great in this! The gameplay was somewhat bland, and I didn't see where the theme fit. In your dungeon design I think you should avoid those leaps of faith into nothing.

The graphics are totally cool. But the UI was different from the rest making your game look like an asset flip. The controls were nice. Overall , you did a good job. Well done.

Also checkout my game at https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/724912 . This is my first game jam and I would love some feedback.

The game art style looks good but it game seemed to lack depth. I didnt see the use of the theme. The Ai where abit borring and you could jump over and hit from the back and they would not do anything. The use of sound is great but game as whole could be improved

Great art, cool story, nice animations, interesting game play. This game is fantastic

Pretty good game. The boss fight could be improved, with some way to dodge his attacks. Graphics were pretty good too!

Head's up this is an honest feedback, so if you don't want to read this comment just skip or delete this.

Anyways congratulations on finishing a game within a period of 7 days.  Nice work man.

And just note, I didn't finish playing your game (I don't play a lot of platformers just MOBAs, but I made some platformers). In advance, I'm so sorry if I hurt your feelings and just delete this if you don't want to see this.

Now here is my feedback:

Adherence to the theme: I can't see the "REWIND" in your game. But your game looks a lot like "A Normal Dungeon" (a submission to the Community Game Jam last year with a theme of "A GAME IS A LIAR"). Rewind is not tangible in your game however. You can maybe make the hero have a sort of power like a rewind (just check the game Braid if you don't know). I'm not really fond of stories in games aside from Hollow Knight which have a deep lore but in this game jam, I think that the core mechanic is the most important and not the story of the game.

Controls / Game Design: The controls are decent but could be improved. You could add a timer both to the jump (this is called Coyote Time, check Jonas Tyroller videos on platformers) and grounded time. The game must be forgiving for the players, and players comes first. The attack is cool in my opinion but it could be more impactful. Additionally, the camera movement was not really directing where I want to go. If the player walks towards the left, the camera must pan more to the left side leaving the player on the right side. And I can't see the bottom of the player if I want to go down. And add a SCREEN SHAKE.

Graphics: The pixel art is good but I won't judge you for it because I know that many people are different artist I'll just commend you for your effort to make a pixel art with animations. Plus the lighting and is good but could be better. A little criticism for the colors of the lighting, a better color palette next time.

Fun: It is okay for this jam but could be improved. I think that you lack on your core mechanic. If you want some fighting in your game, add the ability to rewind like Ekko from League of Legends for example. Your game might be fun to some but this type of game is not for me.

Innovation: It is not innovative, the game lacks something that makes the game stand out among others. The game was there but the execution not so much.

Audio: Maybe some background music. The ambience sounds good but maybe you just want to keep the lighting to a minimum to make the environments looks cool.

Please don't take it too seriously. Have a nice day man.

Game Design: I would have liked to know about the double jump in the initial tutorial. I didn't know we had a double jump until I got to a platform jump that seemed impossible given the mechanics. There were many jumps before that one that were difficult for me to do within the one jump. So at first I simply thought it was poor level design.  Also, I'm not a big fan of "leaps of faith" - pitfalls where you travel a long distance only to possibly land on spikes you didn't know were there. Normally a double jump helps prevent these deaths but ironically if I don't jump off, I don't get my second double jump and just plummet to a possible death. For future reference make sure we can still do one jump as we fall as a safety or don't place long drops with spiked death in places the player can't see until it's too late. Not a fan of "f" being an attack key when wasd are the move keys. Maybe left shift would have been a better choice? Basically it was hard to attack an enemy and then move back to avoid damage for me at least. Oh the pop up message text also pulled me out of the game immersion wise and when the words were finished it sat on the bottom of the screen rather than completely disappearing which continued to pull me out of the game.
Fun: Overall it was fun. I didn't have any unique elements as a platformer but the story did a decent job of keeping me engaged.
Innovation: Its a standard platformer and normally I don't give high marks on these but your story element at the end ties in the theme pretty well and since there is no category for story I'll give you some extra points here.
Theme: If I had not made it to the end I would not have understood your theme but since I did I gave you higher marks here. I still like it when a theme is tied more into the mechanics though.
Graphics: Graphics were great I gave you full marks for that. One of the nicer looking platformers I've played. I mistook your chandelier for a falling cage trap and felt like it was something I was supposed to interact with. Part of the reasoning for that could be that your game has a very dark atmosphere and yet they were more clearly in the foreground. If they serve no purpose for the platformer I suggest you make them dimmer so they look more like the background elemnt and not a foreground element (like the special boxes did). Also I would darken the background boxes.
Audio: I like the music that was used, it added to the atmosphere and I generally liked the sfx. I think a death sfx would be nice too though.

Overall great game! I look forward to seeing more!

I liked the game, the graphics is good, and the gameplay is funny

The idea isn't original, but I liked it :)

Good job! :)

Good job getting in some of the classic platformer mechanics, including a double jump and wall climb. The atmosphere was nice and creepy, perfect for a dungeon story. Since this game relies on a plot twist with a nice development in the middle, you might give a mysterious hint at the beginning that there is something odd about the monster, just so that the player can nod at the end with the final reveal. The game has a few traps that are hard to anticipate the first time through, so a "peek down" feature where the camera dips briefly could be a nice addition. Some of the props like the crates were interactable, so I really wanted to drink from those bottles--could be something to add for future development. Great work!
