The mechanic of tying the hearts to the movement is original, although unfair. Sometimes you cannot move in a certain direction and it's game over. Should find some workaround for that situation.

Nice entry.

It was a fun dungeon space crawler . also i liked the stamina bar system. it made combat interesting. If you like this idea, keep working on it! Awesome job submitting a fun game to this jam and I hope you improve your game making skills. If you have time, please check out my game :D

Nice, I got S++ rating.  I also didn't use the shield at all.

After reading all of your wonderful comments, I realized what was my biggest mistake: communication. Some part of my game aren't clearly explained to the player. I thought that it was obvious that applying VORTEX to your own fireball and then using your shield to receive knockback was the way to go when you were stuck, but now I realize that I didn't explain it at all, making players restart the whole level which can be, and is most of the time, frustrating. I'm writing this comment so in my next Jam, I don't forget to explain what my game is about. Again thank you all for playing and the comments. They mean a lot to me.

Nice game but I was quickly blocked after one hit :( If there is no monster near you to regain health, it can be a soft lock. I had to commit suicide with fireball+vortex a few times to restart.

I think your idea is clever (and it totally fits the theme!) but it needs to be tweaked to be more fun.

I loved/hated the lose control mechanic on one side I really love that you took the theme literally and made something with it, but it doesn't quite work, after losing almost all life I couldn't progress futher.

Maybe making the player move randomly on the directions you don't have control or dropping hearts instead of losing them so you can vortex them could have made the idea work?. Please keep working on it!

Cool! Didn't know what the vertex does, but fun otherwise!

Fun game - ended up not getting hit though so I didn't get to experience the "lose control" mechanic.

Thank you for playing :)

Nice work! I like the animations on your abilities, especially the shield. In theory, I like the idea of "losing control" as you take damage. In practice though, it doesn't quite work. The first time I got hit, I lost the ability to walk down, which immediately made it impossible to proceed, because I needed to walk down to finish the level. Perhaps give me some health regeneration if I've killed all the nearby enemies so I can get my walking back?

Thank for the feedback! I think that I should have made it more clear that heart drop from monster and that you can make it come to you (right click).

Interesting Idea, but it seems really difficult to make progress when you get hit once, and almost impossible once you get hit twice, unless you find a hear.
