This is such a crazy unique idea!!!! I love it so much. I have no idea how this works, it feels like magic!! I was really bad at the training minigame though (I understood what I had to do, I was just messing up a lot) so I kept making the controls worse haha. There's a lot of cool directions to go with this idea, I think it'd be really cool if you had a limited amount of actions you can know at a time and you'd have to figure out what action you can replace to get past a certain area (like if you only had 3 slots and you need a dash so you replace your jump, but then there's a place where you need a jump and dash so you have to say, replace walking right and get there with only left, jump and dash). Great stuff!!

Love the unique concept of this game, and the art style is really nice! Loved the lighting elements used as well.

Took me a bit of time to understand the gameplay (but that is me playing games in general ha) so had to restart a few times due to not binding correctly xD

I also encountered a bug with the area camera switching that if the player moves too suddenly between areas then the camera doesn't follow and the player is now off-screen, which fixes itself if the player navigates back into the room with the camera view, but after the fall it is very hard to navigate back and found myself having to restart.

Overall good game! :D

Developer

Thank you ! I was planning on adding the ability to retry a training if you failed it but did have the time to implement it. I has detected this bug and thought I had fixed it but it seems it still can happen, sorry ;).

I think that this is a really cool concept that can even be expanded on, like maybe, disabling and enabling certain actions in certain rooms that have different colored lights. I found the instructions to be a little confusing, but that could be just me. I loved the lighting and the organif feel of the fireflies. <3

Developer(+1)

Thanks, yes that was actually what I had planned with some crystals that would glow and force a movement but I did not have the time to implement it. The gameplay is definitely too confusing.

Very nice art and atmosphere ✨💖🌈

Developer

Thanks !

I loved the design and the concept is very intresting  but the mechanics are hard to undearstand but in overall its a  good game

Developer

Thanks ! Yeah it's definitely the general feedback.

Very original idea and really cool art!

For me it was difficult to get the hang of the mechanic but that might just be me.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks ! It was my first time making some art myself and trying to make the game "look good"  so I'm glad you enjoyed the result. And yes there is definitely an issue with explaining the gameplay.

Submitted(+1)

i loved how everything started going wrong after the fall (lol)

i could definitely see you adding ui and sfx as pointers in some way to indicate everything going wrong too.

Developer

I was planned on adding some to make it more visual and easy to understand but the deadline was here too soon :(

A cool concept for a game, but i don’t think it matchs the limitation of the jam.

The art style was amazing, i love the design..

The gameplay a litle confusing, but playable.

I miss some music and sfx, but overall a good experience.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks ! There is definitely an issue witht the clarity of the gameplay. I did not know you can use some music or sfx that were not created during the jam, I will definitely implement some sounds next time.
In my opinion it matches the limitation since actually having the controls not work anymore is kind off the "most wrong" things can go in a video game but thanks for the feedback !

The concept of the game is very interesting, but the mechanics are difficult to understand. However, the idea is really very cool for the limitation.

Developer(+1)

Thanks ! Yes it definitely needs a better tutorial and visuals informations.

Submitted(+1)

The gameplay is complicated to get the hang of, but the game is very pretty <3

Developer

Thanks ! Yeah definitely a tutorial issue.

Submitted(+1)

I love  the concept, its really cool. But the gameplay was so rough. I understood how it works, but even then movements were still random so it was painful. I also liked the visuals with the light!

Developer(+1)

Thanks ! Yes unfortunately when playtesting myself I managed to "train" the wolf well enough that I only get a misfire 1 in 10 time and I even added some wiggle room so that it was 1 in 20 for me hoping that for someone unfamiliar it would be 1 in 10. But I did not take into account that it would be so unintuitive. Will definitely incorporate playtesting earlier in my game dev next time !

loved the visuals and the vibes of the game. didn't really understand how the main mechanic worked tho.

Developer

Thanks, it seems to be a general issue I will spend more time on tutorial and clarity next time.

Is this the felling of being drunk? XD

Liked the game concept, but the mechanic was really confunsing. But i can see this being a good game with more work put into it!

Developer (1 edit)

I directed too much focus on level design and visuals without making sure the game was accessible and actually fun x). Lesson learned ! Thank you for the feedback !

Submitted(+1)

As others said the mechanic is confusing, even after reading the description and comments and retrying to match stuff the best I can it was never doing what I expected.

So an interesting idea, just needs more work, possibly more then a game jam would allow but it could be something cool if worked on further.

Developer

Yeah I think I kinda bit more than I can chew with this game idea for an only 3 days jam. Thanks for the feedbacks !

Submitted(+1)

The art is beautiful! But it's hard to understand the mechanic. Great project! :D

Developer

Thank you ! I will spend more time on the main mechanics feedbacks next time.

Submitted(+1)

It's hard to understand the main mechanic, but I like the lights and the game design.

Developer

Thanks ! Yes, I tried different solutions to make it more intuitive but I did not manage to land it unfortunately.

Submitted(+1)

The game concept is really cool but I still could not figure out how the main mechanic worked. I just pressed random buttons until it worked.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! That’s on me, I had a hard time explaining how it is supposed to work.

In ‘"train mod" with the fireflies, the wolf moves randomly. You need to hold a key of your choice while he does a specific movement so that he learns to associate that key with a movement.

For example, in the first tutorial, if you hold A when he goes left and D when he goes right, he will learn those associations and will be much more likely to move left or right when you press those keys afterward.

I’m working on a better tutorial and a video guide to make it clearer.

The background is partially blue. I’m not sure you intended it that way. When it’s not full-screened, I can see much more of the map.

if your asking, this is what I see.

Developer

I uploaded a new version that I hope fixes the issues or at least put black bars for special resolutions. I you have some time to try again to see if it works for you. Thank you very much for the feedback !

Great work in doing that. The controls are a bit wonky, but you do not need to fix them, as they fit perfectly within the “Everything going wrong” limitation.
