Wow! This game is incredible! All the character designs and UI sprites are beautiful and the minigames are super fun! I would've liked an option to practise a minigame before actually competing. I would also say that you stretched the theme quite a lot but really there's nothing else I can fault you on. Congratulations on making an amazing game jam game!

P.S 5th on the leader board off of my first run 😎

Glad you enjoyed it! If we had more time, practice mode would absolutely be in the game. The stretching of the jam's theme was actually rather intentional. I'm not a fan of themes that are mostly aesthetic since it doesn't do much to inspire creativity in the gameplay. We brainstormed for quite a while to turn the theme into something mechanical, and Strange Placements was born. I'm a big fan of how it turned out and think it fits the theme quite well, even if it could be seen as a stretch ;)

That's a really cool reasoning behind the theming! I might have to try that 😉. Well done again on an incredible game!

Thank you for playing our game on stream! It was great getting to see a live playthrough and reaction. And congrats on Myco Rhythm, it´s a very cool game.

Really nice visuals. The intro story does a great job setting up the whole premise, and the art style carries that theme really well. The mini games themselves were fun, and I liked the idea of sometimes aiming for a specific placement instead of just going for first. Trying to land exactly 3rd was way harder than I expected lol. Cool concept and I had a lot of fun playing.

This looks like a very well thought out game! I liked the art, the betting mechanic… the music fits nicely. Great work!

Cool idea and nice execution! Loved the art too, generally love that ancient Greek type style.

Love that Art!

I loved this game! Great entry. It's unbelievable that you made it to create this in just a week. It's very polished and the game works perfectly! I finished my money in one round, but I could continue to play in the following one. I guess you could doublecheck if the player has enough money to continue playing (like a early game over condition). I loved the 2D art! Great dialogue, excellent music :)

Thanks for playing! Even if you run out of money, there are ways to "bounce back" via placing well in the sports or completing the quests that Plutus & Eris give you! We wanted to avoid an early game over.
