Very fun and charming game! I like puzzle games and so this game was right up my alley. The progression of puzzle ideas was good, as you integrated new challenges and obstacles. Although the buildup was a bit slow with a lot of easy levels in the beginning, I'm happy to say that there were definitely some more hard levels nearing the end! Lovely animations too. Thanks for joining the jam!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much ! It was our first jam for our music artist and myself and we feel very proud to have placed so high, thank you for hosting such a welcoming jam, it was an amazing experience, and the first of many for me, that's for sure :)

Great game with very good puzzles and a cute artstyle!

Developer

Thanks ! We are happy to see that the reception of our project is so good :D

This was very fun. Amazed at how much you got done during the game jam!

Developer

Thanks !

I'm glad you enjoyed our project, it was really fun working on the game and we definitly will continue to update it !

Im so impressed how this game turned out. Not a huge fan of puzzle games in general but here it was nothing but pleasure. Only thing it lack was ability to move already placed tiles (and maybe adding indicatior on from where fox is coming from).

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for the feedback !

Glad you enjoyed our game !

We plan on adding the "moving already placed tiles" in future updates, we realized when seeing people playtest that they almost all tried to move the tiles they already placed 😅

We also plan on adding more levels so stay tuned for updates !

I love the artstyle woah~

Developer(+1)

Thanks ! All the assets were made for this Game Jam by Foutriket ( https://foutriket.itch.io/ ) !

Glad you enjoyed :D

Very lovely game! Cute aesthetics and tunes, I like how the foxes are spinning around. No real brain twisters, hard levels, which is also nice. It felt like the game is just beginning with the new tile.

If anything, I would have liked removing placed tiles instead of resetting. The turning tiles also broke in the last level but were fixed after a reset.

Developer(+1)

Hey thanks for the feedback !

We are indeed only getting started on this game, we plan on adding more levels and mechanics with future update so stay tuned :D

We also noticed when seeing people playtest that they all tried to "move" tiles after placing them instead of resetting, so we are working on it to make it possible in future updates !

This was really fun! I'd love to see a little more work done on this after the jam with expanded ideas.

I really liked the rotating tile gimmick. If you ever do develop it further then it'd be quite interesting to have the player be able to place it down in later levels, although making sure the level can't be easily cheesed with it would probably be difficult.

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed our game !

We plan on adding more levels and content with future updates, and we already had the mechanic of placing "rotating tiles" working but had no time to make enought levels, we felt like making the player able to place them so early would've been weird so we just decided to keep the mechanic for future updates !

Submitted

Glad to hear you're planning on adding more! I'll definitely check back on it when you do!

Mmmmm mechanically this is a very solid entry as it reminds me of my days as a kid solving Pokémon gym leader gym puzzles specifically, Tate & Liza in generation three, and to a lesser extent Candice in generation four. Games don't have to be overtly flashy or grandiose to be fun and I think this example serves as a good reminder in regards to that truth. I can appreciate the attention to detail, especially considering the time constraints, that really speaks to how passionate the group was.

With that being said, if I had to critique/provide feedback I would just say that it would have been nice to have some visual language that represented a "door" or the tile to advance as currently I felt it to be a bit ambiguous. (A tile with some simple strokes indicating the path to progress) It's not that detrimental since most gaps are only a few tiles wide, but at first I did find myself just expecting any gap to work. Additionally, and, this is just personal bias but I felt some puzzles feel slightly redundant in terms of progression, and I would've preferred to see that time indexed into potentially a new "variable" or towards some more complex puzzles (less overall puzzles but more challenging to feel more satisfied). Nonetheless it was a stellar project, and you know that's true when your player is just asking for more of it. Good stuff

Developer

Thanks for doing such a great feedback !

I'm glad you enjoyed the game and the references :D

Concerning the improvements, we planned on doing a "door" for the exit but felt like it was out of place, maybe we'll end up adding one in the future tho, and on top of that I presume that you didn't played the game in fullscreen considering there is only one tile hole per level when fullscreen is active :D

And don't worry, we planned on adding more levels in the future, we already made some improvements that will be released at the end of this jam voting period !

Oh, to be a silly fox on the ice, cutely spinning around in circles... a lovely way of life! :D Thanks for the experience! I loved the final room, the cozy puzzles, and the way the sound effects scale.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing !

I'm glad you enjoyed our game :D

We plan on adding more levels and improve the game overall in the future if you wan't to come back and check later !

Incredible! I think this one is my favorite in terms of gameplay. Art and audio is also very good and cute, aspecially the rotating foxes. And for some reason I started to put arrows in various distances to create little songs hah.

Developer

We took a while to make the baby foxes look as cute as we could, glad it paid off,
thank you for the kind comment :D

I like the idea. Poor little fox, she’s gotten herself into trouble. 😆

Developer

Thank you so much :D

I really love the cozy puzzle fox game combination! This is such a cute idea and I am obessed with saving all my fox companions. A very lovely and well paced puzzle game where you dont need a tutorial to undertand the machanics. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, it was our first jam for a few members of the team, me included and we're very proud of the result :) !

This is one of my favorites, its so relaxing and the art/music/game all go together perfectly!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed our game !

We all enjoyed our time working on it so its really nice seeing such positive feedbacks :D

Great gameplay, great artwork, and charming and cute music! The only problem I have with the game is sometimes the fox will ignore the "change direction" tile. But it's a great puzzle game.

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed the game !

The fox ignoring the "change tile" is probably coming from the game running at a low framerate on your computer, i had the same issue when testing it on an old windows 7 computer of mine...

But this performance issue is our bad, we kinda had no time to  make optimazation during the jam 😅

It will be fixed when we update the game in the future :D

Love that game sooo much !
The foxes are just ADORABLE 🦊💖
This game is great, works perfectly, is really fun and both the concept and the art are enjoyable.
Congratulations ✨🌈💖

Developer(+1)

It was a real challenge to make the fox look cute in pixel art I'm glad that it worked

Incredibly polished! The way the note rises every time you hit a button is a great detail. Some levels were quite ingenious; if it were a mobile game, it would be one I'd open every time I got bored!
Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks !

We tried our best to polish the game as much as possible before the deadline and the notes getting a higher pitch each time you turn was one of the first ideas we had, glad you noticed it !

Had me engaged till the end! Great player onboarding, the way you introduced new puzzle mechanics was very effective and seemless. Each mechanic added new gameplay depth and was integrated well. Wasn't too difficult, which is good for a jam game, but in can be fun to slide in a couple levels at the end that really make you think. Great job with the presentation as well. It's very cohesive and cozy. Might have just been a me issue, but some of the levels got a little cut off on the left and right so I couldn't see where the fox was entering/exiting, but it wasn't a huge issue. Wonderful job!

Developer

Thank you so much for such a detailled feedback, very instructive to read ! the cut off levels issue has been brought up some times, we think it happens when the game is not played fullscreen, which is our bad, thank you for playing :)

Submitted(+2)

Ah, I see! Fullscreen does fix this. I thought the game didn't have fullscreen because the button didn't work, but it looks like that's an issue with itch's randomizer. When visiting it on the actual game page, it fullscreens just fine.

Developer

Thanks for this amazing feedback !

We had a fun time doing this game jam and i'm glad the result is here :D

For the cut off on the sides, should be because u didn't played in full screen😉

But we will make changes to the spawns points and exit points in future updates !
