Theme Interpretation
The theme JOURNEY is tied into the story and the visual identity of the game. The protagonist Hyla is on a journey to chart the stars and make his way back home. The game is also visually set on a moving path showing his journey, with his scrolls and travelling equipment on his back as he charts his way.

I liked the intro and the music , art style is cool, but gameplay I got so frustrated because I am playing on a trackpad I was missing the stars for nothing and getting back to it was so difficult xD

I would have liked to see more effects on combos for example

I really liked the intro, just like the art style :)
I didn’t expect there to even be a narrator in the intro.

Gameplay-wise, I think it might have been even better if it had leaned more into being a rhythm game.
From what I understood, it didn’t really matter in which order you touched the stars.

Overall, though, the game feels very polished :)

STARS ON THE MAP IS A FROGGIN BANGER!!!

Really cute concept and cohesive look.  I love how insanely full send the intro story sequence was.

I unfortunately played with touchpad, and am touchpad handicapped, so I struggled to move smoothly, but I still loved when the patters got into really fluid curves during the climaxes of the songs.

Frogsome entry.

Wow, that's quite a large team you guys have, it must have been hard to coordinate the efforts between 9 people.

Some notes that I took:

  • Love the lore intro and the announcer voice.
  • The intro seemed to repeat unless I pressed Skip. Or maybe I just clicked right where the Replay Intro button was about to appear, not sure.
  • I think the instructions screen before the game - while it was beatufil -  disappeared too quickly, I did not have the time to really read it. Maybe it could stay longer with the option to skip it with a click if you're already familiar?
  • The gameplay itself was fun, with smooth controls, even though I realized I'm not very good at it (my highscores were just below 400).

Appreciate it! Coordination wasn't terrible, actually. We've got a great team that's passionate about making games.

Great intro, lore and identity overall! The music, sound design and voice acting in particular are very cool, something that I rarely encounter in gamejams. Congratulations!

Thanks so much!

I love the rolling map style, fits the theme perfectly. Felt like OSU! but less stressful. Amazing job!

Thank you!

Beautiful! Tons of polish and charm. I'll echo what some other folks have said that the hitboxes can be pretty unforgiving, but this is still in contention for my favorite game of the jam.

Developer

So weird, some people have zero problems with the hitboxes, wonder if its a specific browser problem..

This is great game. I like this concept, visuals and the story. Initial cutscene and voice over is awesome!

Maybe just one more thing, the hit boxes are really hard sometimes and maybe it can help to be more forgiving to player, as others mentioned. I played on PC with mouse, maybe touch screen works better.

Nice game, I enjoyed this experience.

fun game i love the concept how you used the start to guied the player journy. the olny thing that made it hard is the hit box it need to be more forgiving.  I passed at the edge of some starts and didnt collect them. i know my mouse didnt fully touch it but as a player we love the grace

Fun game. My scores were 416 and 383. I couldn't figure out why some of the stars turned red and I couldn't collect them. It didn't seem like I missing any in the pattern sequence nor was I going slow but maybe I was. Overall well done. Really enjoyed the music and "Stars on the map" song.

This game was super polished! I don't have any real complaints. Somehow it felt like just something little was missing from making the game truly great. Maybe more variation to the gameplay? Best game I've played so far though, so great job! I got scores of 413 and 386, not too great.

ALL GLORY TO THE ANURA

Loved the intro, the watercolour style looks great and the dialogue was funny.  I also enjoyed the game but I wasn't too good at it.  Don't know if it was a skill issue but it felt like sometimes my mouse would pass through the stars without them counting.  Also sometimes the stars would go underneath the "Return" button.  Managed scores of 373 and 358.

Such a thrilling intro! Can clearly tell so many people worked on this! Great stuff for a first submission .
