That was really fun, I’ve played a few Vampire Survivor-like jam games before but it’s one of the most polished I’ve seen aesthetically, great art and audio. The weapon system is also really fun, the spell pool was enjoyable to work with. My favourite weapons to use were Wrath of Nature and Void Pool for the wide effect range.

I swear sometimes it picked random spells for me other than the one I pick; if that is an effect related to sanity (which I assume is the timer/health at the top), I don’t think the game makes it clear that an effect like that or anything else will happen, I think the mention would be nice if that is the case.

I also agree that some enemies can be really hard to spot against the floor, would suggest giving them more of an obvious shadow or altering some colours.

Great work overall!

Excellent survivors-like. The sprite work is exceptional and the gameplay is solid. I think my only nitpick is the map tile color changing sort of 'hides' some of the bad guys. The red shadow helps, but some of the small mobs get hard to pick out during all the chaos (especially since some attacks are the same shade as the mobs). But again, a nitpick. Great work!

The pixel art was great and some of the spells were really cool. The use of the spells was a good concept but looking away at the spells could lead to the player walking into hazards. If it was further polished, it would be an amazing game.

Love myself a good survivors like.  Not much to say, i didn't expect the twist, ad the options were fun. Though like otehrs said, some enimies did run up and suprise me sometiems especialy with the bug UI on the top. but really i enjoyed my time wit it. reminded me lots of the Vamp survivors and magic survivors

a very good twist on survivors game. The game loop is solid, my only complaint would be the ui gets in the way of the game sometimes.

the top health(?) bar is big enough to cover a part of the screen and some enemy have projectiles or move fast enough to surprise you. and the spells at the bottom kind of force you to focus up and down repeatedly. It would probably be easier if all the important UI information is located in one place.

This is cool! The art is very pretty and combined with the sound design makes for a cool occult atmosphere. Those times that big white skull(?) skeleton(?) thing flashed on the screen got me good haha. The gameplay loop is fun too; it was really satisfying investing all the power ups into one skill and having that skill get super strong. I liked having an ina beam that was like 5 tiles wide or so :') I had a lot of fun!

An excellent Survivors game! I love the visuals and the style of the game, and it is very fun to play. I especially like the idea of putting pages in your spellbook to determine what abilities you may get.

The only thing I was uncertain about was the effect of Health/Sanity. I am guessing that it can go into the minus through spells and drain, but if an enemy hits you, it's game over?

Always a sucker for a survivor-like game, and this has some awesome tweaks to the formula

Randomizing two spells and letting you pick is actually such a fun concept that I don't think I've seen before.

Is there a cap on the number of spells you can have in Ao-chan, or can you just get all of them if you get lucky? I feel like the randomization can kinda let you get away with just letting the player grab all the spells, since its notlike other survivor likes, where all your abilities are firing off on a cooldown no matter what

I love the enemy design and the ambience, but in general the art is really good!

I have to agree with David, soundwave felt like it was just hitting enemies at almost infinite range, it could probably be toned down a bit.

Likewise, AoE effects like void pool or natures wrath can make it hard to manage the enemies when they're inside of it, maybe lowering the opacity on those AoEs would help the player keep track of the activity going on while they're active in the combat zone a little better?

I might have missed it, or just ran out of time before seeing the effects, but I couldn't see what effect the sanity meter had on gameplay in my couple of runs.

But overall fantastic job from the team - this one is for sure going into the rotation for games to play in my free time. Great work!

Very fun surivors-like game!

Smooth character sprite animations and visual effects! The bgm remix is very fitting!

I like how the game's spells reference multiple Ina and other holoEN lore/meme elements. DOOM! XD

I also like how you get different message depending on your performance and the replayability value.

Some improvement suggestions:

- The UI obscures the top part of the screen, so it's harder to see enemies coming from that side. I feel it would be better if the UI was not overlaid on top of the play area. To get around this I basically stuck to the top side of the arena for as long as I could.

- Add some stun on the enemies when they are taking damage. I wasn't expecting them to attack me while getting poked with vines and void rifts.

- Soundwave kinda OP XD

- I ran into death skulls a couple of times while they were hidden behind the huge DOOM sprite. That's on me, I guess.

Great game!

Nice survival-like game style. Art and sound blend well together. I feel like it trades the idle aspect of gameplay for more engagement through cooldowns and decisions.

Still, the game is solid. Nice work!

Congratulations!!

It is incredibly well done. The concept is solid and the gameplay is pretty good. Good animations, great design and beautiful music.

I wasn't able to read some of the messages while I was playing, but all in all I think you all did something WAH-NDERFUL!!! ^_^

Really cool game, great amount of content and replay value for a jam submission!
I just feel the camera is a bit too far away.

Fellow Temarian! Its so interesting for me to see the same reference material going in a very different genre and direction.

Controls are snappy and tight, difficulty is fair and perfectly tuned! Little eye candies like damage numbers and hit stuns makes the game really satisfying to play through.

Its abit of a shame that I cannot concentrate on the text to know what is going on with the story when I am getting attacked by an army though.

This is amazing overall, well done!

WOW, this was super cool to play! Trying to survive 10+ minutes but keep dying lol

Stacked team, the game was great, I liked the focus on Ina and the atmosphere around it. I have nothing to complain about, looking forward to more potentially.

Extremely well done, I love the multi-directional sprites. Kudos!

THIS GAME IS AMAZING!!!!! I really liked how it feels to play, and the amount of content is insane for game jam, and the level of polish is astounding, it also has a lot of re-playability with the starting choices, art and sound effects are also very well done, absurdly good game, amazing job from the team!!
