Interesting story and I really love the art style! The dialogs and choices are quite robust and filled with references, quite a fun read! I really agree with the other comments that adding music and sounds would really elevate this project.

As for my other comment, I think packaging the game file, .txt and the read-me instructions in the same .zip/.rar would be great for players who want to download and try out your game!

Overall, amazing job! Did a little peak at your deviant art and can't wait to see more!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your comment! ^__^

Glad you liked the art style and the dialog. Your words mean a lot to me!!

I'm already gettin ready a version with no bugs (hopefully), finished art, new art for the special routes, new features and some music. Everything in a ZIP ;)

Oh, and you checked my DeviantArt?! Thank you a lot, I have to update it... (I have a lot more new things to upload)

Once again: thank you so much for trying and enjoying!!

I really dig the idea, a really cool take on the concept with the End of World!

Both dialogues and dialogue chocies were pretty entertaining, I wanted to try out more of them and check the holos' reactions. I liked the idea with items and tarot cards. I would really like to see a final version of the game and what happens when I collect all of the possible cards.

Altought the art was not complete, I definitely liked the concept. The B.A. Shiorin is beautifully terrifying. I would dig all other holos in this True Angels style, maybe with some abstract backgrounds and audio to match the eerie End feel.

Also kudos for making the game in the Flash, it's pretty rare these days to see a true Flash game.

In terms of feedback:

- I would add some highlight around the item when it can be used (unless you want to slightly hide it like Biboo). Sometimes I was confused if the item on the screen is something that I got from conversation or something that I can use right now

- I don't know if there is an inventory UI, could not find it, but would be nice to have one. Alternatively you could just display list of gathered items in the top

Thank you for making this game ^_^

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing/reading and for seeing the potential ^_^

My original idea was to have the full tarot: the 22 major arcana would unlock the most special super secret ending :D

...but TIME!!!  (I already have a table with all of them assigned)

I only planned to have Shiori with a Biblically Accurate form, but I may do some more since she had such a good reception ^_^

The thing about Flash is... that's the only thing I know how to use, hehehe... I chose it back then for its animation capabilities, even if I wasn't able to use them this time.

I'm already implementing new features like the ones you mention: an inventory, a way to prevent you from skipping choices and a format to make it more clear when you get an item or when you get to use it.

Sorry about the game freezing!!! I've already found and squashed that bug ;)

You can check out some other endings by checking the TXT, I'm kind of proud ;)

I really really REALLY apreciate the time you took playing my little VN and writing this comment... thanks, means a lot to me ^_^

I like the Shiori portrait! Nice watercolor style coloring!

Clearly you ran out of time to flesh out the rest of the art, but I can see the potential for a unique looking story.

Choosing flash as your engine of choice is, once again, kinda unique. I would suggest giving Renpy a try if you're specifically into making visual novels!

That ending felt too sudden! I need to know what happens later! What are those cards I'm getting from the different dialogue events?

I got 2 different endings... or so I think, because after the dialogue ended the game stopped responding to my key presses.

Some improvement suggestions:

- Add some audio to set the tone of the scenes!

- A clear "Game over" screen with a "retry" option would be welcome.

I would love to see you remake your game in a modern game engine and in a more complete form! As I mentioned above, if you're going for a visual novel, Renpy has everything you need. If you want to mix in something else in your game, you can try Godot and use the Dialogic plugin for the dialogues and multiple option sections.

Good game!

Thanks for playing/reading ^__^

Glad you liked my take on a Biblically Accurate Shiori :D

Yes... I did run out of time... in fact it's only thanks to the grace period that it is somehow playable at all...

The reason why I choose Flash is because... I know how to use it. Many many years ago (more than a decade ago) I tried learning Renpy but it didn't click for me and for a jam I had to choose: learn something new or do what I can with what I already know.

I just played a VN developed on Renpy and it did have some pretty nifty features I would like to have (like saves, history, fast forward!) but I don't know if it'll have some of the features I've already developed for my little flash engine, hehe. Still, I'll check it out ^_^

Sorry about the confusion, I didn't get to make it clear when you got one of the special endings. But if you got stuck on a dialogue, chances are that you found the "awesome endings". Sorry about the bug, feel free to check the TXT for the complete rundown.

The cards are supposed to let you open new routes, and my initial idea was to get a super duper special ending when you got all the cards... my next iteration will only have the cards that are already implemented, but... I would love to do the FULL deck. What do you think? Is it worth it?

About your suggestions:

-Music is already supported so I'll add it on the next update ;D

-I'll be sure to add some way to track your progress and to be able to reset without having to close and open again the VN

While I'll be using Flash for the next iteration (I need to get it finished ASAP),  I'll check out your suggestions.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking your time to read and comment, means a lot to me ^_^

Interesting game! I love BA Shiori already :DDDD

The dialogue is really interesting, and it seems to have a ton of references lol. Nice job putting this cute game together!!

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked her!!

I had wanted to draw her for a very long time and finally got the chance ^_^

Yay, I didn't have that much time for the dialogue but I did my best :D

Thanks a lot for your time and kind words, I hope I can make it better on tehe next update!

Amazing to still see flash game in 2026 lol. Very interesting premise, and really suits the style of your art. The B.A Shiori on your thumbnail captivated me as well! Just curious though, is the B.A Shiori a reference to anything? I feel like there is a deeper meaning to the story you've written, but I don't think I'm smart enough to figure out >_<.

Music and sfx are extremely important, and it happens to park under the same "ambience" category. Do not let your effort of making good visuals get pulled down by lack of audio. Sfx takes more effort and time so maybe you can do that only if you have enough time, but you can probably find bgm that suits the mood of your game and include them in within 30 minutes. Here are some that I think may suit your game:

Good job! Thanks for making this!

Developer

Thanks to you for playing/reading!

The B.A. Shiori is nothing especially deep, just a reference to the "Biblically Accurate Angels". I had this idea for a multi-eyed Shiori for a long time. Since she has goth vibes and even hosts confessionary streams I thought it would be a good match, so I took the chance to finally draw her. You can think of her as an "ascended version" that starts you on this journey after the End of the World.

Yes, it is a flash game D: I've been trying to get into games for a long time, usually as an artist and/or designer. As a coder I only have enough experience with AS2 to actually make something, and even so at something pretty simple. Still, it did pan out :D (I'm starting Godot, maybe next jam I'll be able to use it).

Thanks a lot for the recommendations!! I did want to add music (it is actually implemented) but I didn't have the time... But I'll be sure to add some to the next update.

And again, thanks for taking your time to play and comment!!

I think this is a super solid foundation!

I like the art, even though its not perfect quite yet, its still all there, and the more polished art looks really good!

I also think it was a cool choice to incorporate the little events in certain interactions, I managed to find Biboo, and the prompt for the Ina doll with FWMC. I don't play a whole lot of VNs so I  don't know how common it is, but I haven't seen it before myself, so props for that!

Also think the dialogue was pretty well written, and the reactions felt genuine to the talents as well, so good job there!

I didn't mess with modifying the text file at all, but giving the player the option, and instructions on how to do that, is really cool, it would be awesome to let players submit their own routes and stories and let the other players check out their content!

I would say that a quick restart or something along those lines when reaching the time limit, or certain endings would be nice - its not hard to just close out the player and boot it back up again, but it was a little confusing when I got the Biboo ending and everything just locked up on me. But if I had to nitpick anything in it's current state, that would probably be it.

I think this is a great result for a jam project, and it sounds like you're already planning to come back and iron things out, which is awesome, would totally come back and check it out after some updates. Great work!

Developer(+1)

I'm so so grateful!!

Thank you for playing/reading and for taking your time for such a thoughtful feedback.

Glad you liked the art and the writing, I'll make sure to make it better :D

As you saif I am already ironing the bugs, planning new features and you can be sure I'll make good use of your suggestions . An idea I have is for you to get a card for every special ending and then add a gallery/menu to see what you've achieved ^_^ (I have already the full deck planned).

Again... THANKS!!!

PS: Sorry about the botched Biboo end, didn't catch that bug on time but I'll share with you the full text (it is inside the TXT if you want to see  some of the other special endings):

Biboozilla took over the world reducing everything to rubble… to pebbles.

It is said that it was known as the "6, 7 days of Brainrot". But you couldn't have possibly known since you were the first to be obliterated.

That was her gift to you.

A cool little visual novel with interesting ideas. If you're looking for some quick ways to improve it, a prettier UI and some BGM would go a long way!
In addition, this is more of a personal feeling, but it'd be nice if you couldn't 'accidentally' skip forward if there's an option on screen.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Sorry about the lack of music and visual refinement, had to skip many things just to get it out of the gate... but I will surely implement them once the edition becomes available again.

There are two types of options to select from, some are unskippable but others were meant to be optional (items and cards) so it was on purpose that you could skip them. But thanks to your feedback I've come to realize that they are indeed too easy to skip and it would be better to do as you say (I would also like to add the option to go back on the dialogue).

So thanks again for your words and your time, they mean a lot to me!

Submitted(+1)

Cool take on the theme! It would be neat to see a slightly more polished version in the future.

Developer

Glad you liked it!

I will be polishing the writing and the drawings (and squashing those bugs left...). Also, I had some images planned for the special endings that I would certainly love to do and your message has helped my determination to add them.

Thanks a lot for your time and words ^_^

Submitted(+1)

I liked it. Unfortunately I don't really like playing VN so I didn't check all routes. But it was made very well and interesting.

Developer

Thank you a lot!!

No problem, even if you only checked one route that's more than enough for me.  Thanks for your time ^_^

Submitted(+2)

That was fun.  I really like the sketch art style, fantastic work on that, and the story is interesting and characters are well written.  It's kind of fascinating to see how the dialogue is written, too.

I wish all of it was bundled together into a zip for easier downloading since both the text and the exe are needed, but that's a minor gripe.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks a lot for your feedback and your time!

Glad you liked it ^_^

I'll take your suggestions into account (you can be sure I'll make a bundle once edition is allowed again), have a nice day!

Submitted(+1)

It's too late for the jam, but if you do this again, I would recommend finding some way to allow skipping text or making the text show up faster. The time it takes for the text to appear kills any interest I would have in seeing all the content.

Developer

It DOES have a fast forward function, press ANY key (except Enter) to show the full text. You can go for a full route in less than two minutes (without reading).

Thanks for trying it out :D

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

I see. Well, in that case I have different feedback to give. Firstly, it's generally not a good idea to mix mouse and keyboard controls without letting the player know you did so. I only used the mouse the entire time and saw no reason to think there was anything else. Secondly, I notice your game page doesn't mention any controls. That'd be a good thing to include if it's not going to be mentioned in-game.

edit: oh, nevermind. It hadn't refreshed for me yet.

Developer

I added it thanks to your comment (thanks!).

I wanted to make an "intro screen" but... time.

Again, thanks for the chance :D

Submitted(+1)

It would be great if there is a guide or a way to track what choices to make. I kept circling around the same options and never managed to make progress.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I'll take it into account.

Routes aren't that long, and there isn't a "true" route or anything (only a secret route, but I'm not sure if it is accesible in the current build, sorry about that), so maybe you did get to one of the endings.

An example of a full route is the Biboo one (look at the corner of Ina's route in one of the dialogues).

I did intend to have you collect a card for every ending you get but wasn't able to get it on time, sorry for that too.

Anyways, thanks for playing/reading!!!
