Youve got a good start here! I think its a little too easy to dodge and to kill most enemies, except for the boss of the third level who does 1000 damage which feels too high. Its also kind of hard to navigate such empty rooms that are so much bigger than the camera, ideally i think itd be better to have pretty much every room be at most as wide as the camera is.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I'm really glad I managed to get the randomized heros working, even if there's not as many possible variants as I'd like. If I'd had a lot more time, I would've also given them unique lines they can say based on their personality (an idea taken straight from the mode in corru.observer this was based on), but that was pretty far out of scope.
You can get infinite heros, so it's definitely possible to one-shot him if you wanted to! It'd probably take quite a long time though.
Very cool game! I like the main mechanic.
Its very hard though. I feel like the timing is slightly too tight and a lot of the telegraphs could be a bit more clear. In the second fight, the enemy's signal for when to attack is a lack of a symbol instead of a '..." or !, but the other attack doesnt have symbols so it can be confusing. The third enemy's telegraphs are really difficult to distinguish, especially if you arent good at recognizing pitches.
I also wish they couldnt do several unpunishable attacks in a row, or at least you got some time back for blocking.
I just realized I forgot about the traits thing while playing, so that wouldve probably made it a bit easier, but I managed to beat the game anyway!
took a second for me to figure out how everything works but its a neat game!
(btw if you havent figured it out yet, for colors in Gamemaker, both $FFFFFF and #FFFFFF work but $ is in blue/green/red order while # is in red/green/blue order, so if you use #A1A100 or $00A1A1 it should be correct but $A1A100 would be wrong)
