Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
When we were brainstorming ideas inspired by the theme, we landed on a climbing game because the hands reminded us of two hikers reaching for each other, pulling one another up the mountain. From there, we naturally envisioned the game as a heartwarming, collaborative puzzle platformer, further reinforcing the theme through mechanics that centered on cooperation and helping one another trek up the mountain together.

So cute!

Beautiful art style and great interpretation of the theme! Loved the details and the music.

The only note to this is that the platform perspective/colliders can be a bit confusing, it would be great to have a clear visual hint of where the platform surface is.

A really cute game, both in its graphics and characters. Unfortunately, around the waterfall area I encountered many bugs with the monkey’s physics, which blocked my progression. Still, good work overall :p

first I was annoyed that the monkey would end up rotated, then I learned how to spin the monkey. got stuck at the tip of the same tree as others, seems to be missing a boulder or something. great game

I loved the music an visuals for this game. Combined with the slow movement of the character, the game almost has a mediative quality. I did find some of the jumps a bit imprecise. I also didn't initially realise that I needed the monkey on my back, I only turned back after getting the notification. Maybe you could have had a speech pop up that tells you to do that as your first action. Congrats on your entry.

Nice art, nice sfx!

This is a fantastic game. Love all the details you have put in with, the character animation, the sound effect on stone and on grass etc. The visual gives a picture book aesthetic with the theme of giving a hand out. WHOLESOME

really enjoyed this puzzle platformer! appreciate the fact that you can swap controls between the goat and monkey - which makes for interesting mechanics. the goats footstep sfx as well as the ambience is quite relaxing and chill!

my feedback is that the detuned formant notes for the dialogue system were really jarring - at the same time when there was no dialogue the jazz music was quite relaxing. i understand it's a stylistic choice though - well done on putting this together!

I ABSOLUTELY loved this game! It is just sooo endearing and adorable. I loved the interactions between the monkey and the goat, and the little sfx you have when the dialogue plays adds so much to the charm. The platforming almost feels zen, though maybe a better indication of where the platform hitboxes are could help, since sometimes the ledge sprites can be a bit deceptive. Otherwise the movement and input feels really consistent which I think is a very important aspect that gets overlooked in many platformers. It just feels good to play this one.

The logo design is especially something that is really creative. I really love what you have done with the goat’s horns and the monkey’s hand holding a stick, and the ear and fur on the other letters, which is just such a good way to convey what the game is about.

The gameplay loop is simple to learn yet so fun, and I highly appreciate the QoL features that you have added like control prompts at the bottom of the screen, as well as the ability to pause the game anytime. A very well thought out progression curve too, as the player is organically lead towards solving more complex sections.

The only thing that makes me sad is this… I tried to look for an exploit of some kind but couldn’t. ≧ ﹏ ≦

Would be looking forward to try out the post-game-jam version since I really want to see Monkey get back home and Old Goat enjoy a nice hot spring bath for his hard work. 5/5 stars from me!

This was a fun interpretation of the theme image. Fun art, fun gameplay. Nice job.

good atmosphere, the platformer issue can be solved with some more time, the shadow of the character on the ground can help the player to understand where they will land, but once the character starts jumping, the shadow is gone, so this might be a small thing that can improve the platformer experience. The feeling delivered overall is good. There is a lot of content created by three people, so you guys definitely spent a lot of effort, good job

Really cute art style and great sound design. I loved the Don't Starve style voices! However, it was hard to determine the height of the platforms, which made the platforming a bit confusing. Unfortunately, I also got soft locked at the second waterfall. I tried jumping from the goat to the branch on the other side of the river as the monkey, but I got stuck inside the water. Adding a checkpoint system would've been helpful to prevent issues like this, as there was no way out for me without restarting the game.

Such a cute game! I love the dynamic between the little monkey and the goat. The art style is adorable too!! Amazing work

I love the art style and writing in this project!! I also had a lot of fun swapping between the two and can see its connection to the theme, so great job :) I got stuck after maybe the 3rd waterfall because the goat couldn't continue, but I was able to get the monkey across that area. Great job~

I love your art style and the narrative/ relationship between the monkey and goat. Especially the added touches in writing when straying away too far from one another. The music also fit the mood very well which felt melancholic. I could feel the grandness of the mountain and the environment, which helped to drive the game feel. I did have trouble resetting the monkey's rotation on a couple of playthroughs and the monkey got stuck in the 2nd waterfall after trying to jump off the cliff to the next tree. With that being said, it's a charming game and I'd like to play it again when those bugs are resolved

nice animation, but the text are too small, no full screen button(you still could add it in itch page)

Beautiful art style and really great tutorial XD

I think the only problem I get is I understanding the depth/height of the platform.

It makes me confused whether I can make the jump or not.

But other than that, the game looks fun ^^

Nice introduction to the story and mechanics, a good team-work game, easy to understand. Traveled back and forth a bit to find keys to progress, missed some platform due to not able to approximate the platform collider and the sprite accurately. Encountered little bugs(not insects) and then some soft-locks. In the end I couldn't progress further due to not being able to reach the next platform.

The game is very beautiful, a drop of paint could make the game look better, because most of the game are already good looking.
