Very well done I can't lie, the graphics are great, the sound effects and music are well chosen, the game is well polished, and the gameplay loop is simple for people to understand and get into quickly! The only thing I felt like was a miss is having the resources drop from the enemies instead of having them spawn in randomly; but I still appreciate the alternative route you chose. I also wished I had a music slider option to adjust the sounds and stuff, since it was a little too loud at first. Overall, this was a really good game, congrats!
Thank you! The idea was that the resources were dumped from the upper floors, and these attracted other robots. That’s why the robots started “collecting” them! :D It was my intention to have the collected resources “release” once the robots were destroyed, but… unfortunately, I couldn’t dedicate any more time to fixing the game due to family business. I managed to find the time to upload this version… =S
I love the spider mechs! The game is so polished and looks amazing, and the sound and music are great too. It did take me a minute to realize the nice shiny things on the floor were resources to be collected, and not columns to strategically hide behind haha
Really fun to play, well done!
Good job, this was a ton of fun! Like others have said, a little work on player feedback would be really nice for this, to bring it the last bit of the way. Otherwise it feels quite polished. Would love some more variation and content, but that’s a big ask for a game jam game xD You should keep working on it! Great work!
Great work! I’m terrible with KBM, really wanted twin sticks controls and measly 5685 reflects it but still had a lot of fun. Even with just the handful of stats, it felt like there was a lot of meaningful decisions to make.
Really tight gameplay loop that's truly fun! Love the art and the music, really polished overall. Throw in some enemy/level variations and some more upgrades and I could see this on Steam!
Was caught a little off guard getting thrown immediately into action, but I got the hang of it quickly! It feels pretty polished and I really like the art. Great job!
I achieved a high score of 12700 points, it felt like a pretty satisfying gameplay loop! I just wish there were more types of enemies or different level designs, but given the time constraints of the game jam I'm still very impressed! The music was catchy and had me in the zone zapping robots, graphics were a pleasing retro style. Awesome work!
This game is put together really well! The art and the SFX suit each other and the gameplay loop is very smooth.
My critiques are pretty much similar to what other people have said already. Auto-fire would would make the already nice movement feel better. An indicator of when the gun/body/legs stats were getting low would lengthen each play session as players would realize more quickly when they should repair their parts.
Overall, very solid and cohesive entry. :)
