Really awesome puzzle game! I honestly had to rack my brain a bit for the last puzzle, but that' what I love about puzzle games: the answer isn't always obvious, so you have to try a bunch of different things to see if it works. Congrats to you guys, super well done and good luck with the jam!

Pretty fun game not gonna lie! It felt really satisfying just getting to drag your mouse around and swipe at the enimies. I think the character movement was a little too fast though, if you slowed him down and made the map shorter I think the game would feel a lot more complete. Overall though, great job!

God damn this game jam submission is actually incredible!! I loved the gameplay so much I could genuinely see a game being made out of this. One recomendation I'll give is to use more smear frames in animating the attacks; currently, the attacks feel a little slow, and that's ok if that's what you were going for, but if you cut some of those animations and replaced them with smears, they could look way smoother and responsive (that's what I did for my game, if you wan to check that out it's on the last minigame lol). Here's a video that also helped me get the smears right:

Good luck with the jam guys!

The game was honestly pretty fun, I'm glad I got to play it. I wish there was a little bit more content, but it's still nice. Good luck with the jam guys!

Thank you so much! First minigame was definitely my favourite one to design. BlueAxolotl (our programmer) did an amazing job bringing that to life lol

I really liked the theme implementation, the music (even if it cut off after a while for some reason), the art style matched the style of game phenominally, and I felt like the game was pretty inovative with the puzzles and mechanics!
I stopped playing after a while and started losing my brain because I could not figure out for the life of me what the puzzle with the snake statue was. I tried the variation I got from the objects in the game, and I even replayed the game several times to interrogate the NPCs on different items in hopes for clues; so I feel like the puzzles were a tad bit too difficult and if there's some mechanic I'm unaware of, then it should be explained in the description or in a game tutorial.
Replaying the game was also tough because I couldn't skip any dialogue, but I saw other people mentioning that already so I'm sure you know of the problem.
Overall, super great game. I'm super bumbed out I couldn't figure out the puzzle thing, but I still hope you guys do well in the jam!

Thank you so much! Good luck with the jam!

Thank you for the kind words! I'll check out your game whenever I have the time

Thank you lots! Good luck with the jam!

thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it

Your game looks so cool! I'll hop on and play it once I'm back home from school.

My team and I are also looking for a some more constructive feedback and ratings before the jam ends, so let us know if you enjoy our game!

oh shoot I completely missed the customizability option for the controls lol, thanks for letting me know

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the game

Pretty interesting game ngl, I liked the concept you guys were going with, but I wasn't really sure what the objective in the game was at the start, and the player movement is kind of disorienting and unresponsive. Still pretty cool though, congrats, and good luck with the jam!

Genuinely a fantastic game I'm not gonna lie, I really loved this entry.
Things I liked:
- The artstyle was phenomenal; it was adorable, sweet, and the animations felt smooth as butter,
- The combat-platforming balance; this really reminded me of Hollow Knight ngl, it would be pretty cool if you guys felt inspired by that game lol
- Boss fights at the end felt challenging, but fair; there wasn't really a point in the game where I felt like I died because of the game's fault (and I died a LOT), I always accepted that there was something else I could do to improve my gameplay, and your game allows the player to learn from their mistakes in this way perfectly
Things I disliked:
- Mainly the control scheme, I feel like the game would've benefited more from using WASD instead of up, left, down, and right buttons. Games that use the latter are typically referencing a more retro vibe of games, typically with pixel art too (there's always exceptions of course, but generally games that aren't going for a "retro vibe" just use WASD.

That's it lol, great job guys! You guys crafted a genuinely fantastic game, good luck with the jam!

Hey dude! I'd really appreciate some of your feedback if you've got the time.

Here's the game my team and I published! Lmk if you like it

It's kind of like a puzzle game, lmk if you like it!

Hey really cool entry! I was able to feel like I was a genuine pirate looking for treasures in those islands lol, super emersive gameplay! My favourite part were the animations, genuinely peak bro; although, I didn't really like the use of mixels as much, but still a 4/5 on visuals. Congrats, and good luck with the jam!

Dude this game is so fantastic! I could genuinely see myself buying this on steam lmao. Super addictive, super innovative, completely blew my mind, WOW! I think you guys aced the art and the music on this, they both felt like they were working together to create a very chill and calm vibe, I loved it so much lol. Great work guys, good luck with the jam!

What an emotional journey man! Such a fantastic game, I really miss seeing those kinds of puzzle games tbh, I don't really know what the genre is called but I used to watch a lot of videos of these games when I was younger. If you guys know the name of this kind of puzzle game lmk please, and also tell me about what inspired you guys to make this game! Overall, super great, one of the best games of the jam for sure. Congrats!

I loved the elevator music at the start, it made me laugh. I liked the concept of the game, about finding things that have changed in the room, but I felt like the map was too big to spot tiny details; what I mean is, if the map was maybe smaller, you guys could have expanded on gameplay a lot with smaller details. Overall, really great game, congrats!

Dude I found the concept of the game incredible. The narrator adds so much to this game, I loved the concise and neat little tutorial at the start of the game; going into it I felt super confident about what I had to do. There were a few problems in my playthroughs though:
- No accessibility options (like changing sensitivity) were kind of upsetting for me, I honestly felt like the sensitivity was too high and there wasn't much I could do to change it; consider adding a pause menu on your next update!
- The second level (the one with the married couple) was way too difficult, I still can't get past it. I found the frog on painting, the fork, the other painting, but the last item was just impossible for me to find for whatever reason.

Overall, one of the jam's greatest games in my opinion. You should feel very proud of how this turned out and I'm excited to see this project move forward! Good luck with the jam, dude!

I'll try my best to give as much feedback as I can!

I'd appreciate if you gave us the same amount of feedback, any criticism is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your kind words! The goal was to go on the emotional route, so I'm glad it worked out! I haven't seen the "To the Moon" series, but I'll check it out! Good luck with the jam!

Yo what a wild entry, deadass. This was actually wild, but super fun! I felt like flipping the whole plot of Alice in Wonderland on its head was hilarious lmao. The only change I'd make though, is make the enemy bullets more visible and also make them much slower than the players. When I worked on bullet hell-ish projects in the past, I made the same mistake of not tweaking those two variables; the truth is, most bullet hell games make those changes so the player can feel like the fight is more fair. Overall great work though!  Good luck with the jam!

This game is really cool, I like how the caverns like adapt as you go deeper (even if it wasn't really strange persay). I think what you should focus on next is getting the movement correctly. Moving around (especially moving) felt really clunky in the game and it made it difficult for me to escape places like the lava (that's where I died lol). Congrats though! I'm very impressed of your first game, good luck with the jam!

Here's my team's game: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-15/rate/4311399
We really hope you enjoy it!

Pretty cool game tbh, I was greatly disoriented at the start because of the camera, and even when I beat the game I felt a little bit confused. I liked the ideas you guys had though, when I reached the end I felt the twist quite interesting lol. Congrats! And good luck with the jam.

I loved the mechanic you had for spell casting. At first I couldn't get how to chose the spell I did, but then I managed to do it somehow lol. If you want something to work on though I think it'd be movement, walking around was fun but it would've been cooler with a dash or something. Great work!

Thank you for the kind words! Good luck with the jam!

Thank you so much for the feedback! We ended up realizing a little to late that the puzzles might be slightly too difficult (we were struggling lmao), so don't worry, if we could go back we'd probably work on that minigame a little more and make it a little simpler for players to navigae. Good luck with the jam!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you liked the puzzles and the story man, those are usually my favourite parts of making a game lol

The audio and visuals were definitely my favourite part of this jam I'm not gonna lie; super smooth, and super cute! I felt like the gameplay could be more fleshed out, but still it's pretty good. Congrats, and good luck with the jam!

(1 edit)

Honestly pretty awesome! I wish I had a friend to play with rn lol (they're all asleep). I really loved the pixel art man, very cool! One thing I'd add is like consecutive attacks for the light attack; usually there are those in fighting games, but I wouldn't know since I don't play many of them. Congrats, and good luck!

(Edit: I just realized this game has only 8 ratings, like WHAT, this totally deserves more ratings)

Pretty interestiong game, I didn't like how fast the chickens were though; they made the game a lot more difficult than it had to be. Still though, nice work!

Pixel art was incredible, I especially loved the blood effects from the knifes! However, I think that adding a bit of sound effect variation to the game would enhance it greatly; I felt a little annoyed from hearing the same sound effect from the kunais over and over again. Overall, really well made, especially for one person. Good luck with the jam!

Dude I LOVED the artsyle here, genuinely so well made! I didn't like the controls though, I felt like the game would've been better with WASD + Space bar instead. Overall, great work! Good luck with the jam!

Interesting platformer! My favourite part was how the wind became a central mechanic to getting ahead in the game, I thought that was a good use for a mechanic. One thing I'd look into is adding sound effect variation: hearing the same jump sound over and over again became tiring, so try to vary the pitch of the sound effect or switch sound effects every once and a while. Good luck with the jam!
