Very fun game! felt to me like this is Papers Please meets Ace Attorney, I like it.

Really beautifull game thanks for that, and it really cool to play

Really amazing art, story and concept. The only thing is, I wasn't really to engaged in the game world. After reading a lot of text, I couldn't do it anymore and started just clicking through saying everyone was innocent. I would recommend developing the story through more visual and audible means, rather than just walls of text. It would also be really nice to have background music and sfx to help tie everything together, as well as text transitions to make reading it less overwhelming

This was a huge pleasure to play! It really puts you into the harshness of being a judge. At first, I just wanted to execute everyone, but after seeing those people's deaths affecting my own family really made me rethink my decisions. And the art as well! It's impressive how you were able to make all these assets in 3 days. Overall, you did an incredible job :)

Quite unique game, and wonderful style.

I spent all my money on premium sake :(

Really great job, the concept is a very clever take on the theme and as others have mentioned, the artwork and animations is incredibly well done. My only issue was I couldn't hear any sound or music? Not sure if that's a bug or if you ran out of time, but it felt like it really needed some nice music and simple audio to enhance the experience. I hope you'll update that once the jam has wrapped up as I think it'd be worth it!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! It's a little bit of both, I don't know why but I couldn't get audio to work on a web build so I just said 'screw it i have more important things to figure out' but yeah, I agree that the missing audio is a shame

You made this in 72 HOURS?! This is amazing! I honestly thought that after making a few judgements, the game would end or something. I was completely blindsided when I saw there was whole market/task system in this game in addition to judging people! And I loved how the two were linked - when you execute someone who ran one of the stores, their store disappears from the menu. Fantastic art too! Really awesome concept and GREAT execution!

Developer

Thank you so much!! I'm thrilled you noticed that shop keepers disappeared ^^ it was a crunch for sure, thank you for your kind words

The visuals are amazing, and the gameplay is really good! I just wish there were more full texts instead of short ones ,maybe one or two longer ones would make it better. I started to lose interest after the second day, but maybe it's just not my kind of game. Good luck!!!

The art and animations are so beautiful. I like how the game forces you to choose absolute verdicts to cases that should be resolved somewhere in between. But in practice, I just picked innocent most of the time, since I didn't feel any of them deserved to be killed for what they did.

It’s like you packed an immersive movie into a game! When that old school NES load screen started it got me thinking, DAMN! this was made in 72 hours?!…don’t even get me started on that surprise beheading animation). This might be my first seeing this much content (with such quality) done in a short timespan. I must say the writing is really good, I ended up declaring a lot of convicts innocent just because of their confessions/stories (despite the various pieces of evidence lol). The sections where you head home was a nice breather to the courtroom sessions. I’m probably typing too much :D this is is definitely my favorite so far in the jam!

nono keep typing about how great my game is :P

This is very mature and original take on the theme, beutifly done. At first I struggled to focus, because of the audio bug you mentioned, but I take headphones, found some edo music on youtube and was enchanced by the climat of the game;) Great writing, great design with trying to cope with your morals, supporting your family and doing your job. You proved that our jam's theme is a lie ;)

I really like Phoenix Wright, so I felt at home pretty quickly. There is a lot of work here and I think what you have is pretty good. From a game developer/jammer perspective, I think this would go from good to phenomenal with juuuust a bit of self editing. Fewer, but more interesting options, and a bit of qol/polish/bug fixes. Biggest qol/bug is I would click evidence mid sentence, because it looked clickable, and i got really confused pretty early on by that. Overall, you delivered a ton of content in a really short time. Really good job, Kuro.

Extremely immersive and superb art style and writing! :D

So cool too there's like an entire town and background involved, where u fr have to be apart of the town just to go and decide their fates

LOVE this! ^U^

(My pacifist ass kept picking the "Innocent" option X3 - the ONE time I picked guilty... I am now traumatized LOL - jk)

Also the options menu made me laugh XD

Very impressive for 3 days' work! I played it through, the specific animation was a pleasant surprise. Also, the graphic style is very well done! And honesty within options :D

Very nice interpretation of the theme! Most of the situations were very grey, where clearly some punishment would be necessary, but not a death sentence. This game reminded me of the We. The. Revolution.

I think some images were missing, or did you just run out of time?

Love the art style so much!! The guilty animation was a nice surprise too.

This is sick (/pos) and the interpretation of the Black and White theme is so clever! I was a days in before I was like, "man, I can only choose guilty or innocent, but the situations are so morally grey! ... oh" so call me slow but I got there eventually. The day change animation fills me with joy. I just want to do good for my wife.

I did run into a bug where I had two "quests" at the end of the day that required lamp oil, and no matter how many lamp oil I bought, it only seemed to be counting for the first quest, not the one lower in the quest list. Then after proceeding, the dialogue at home seemed to imply that I didn't get lamp oil for either quest. Maybe I misread it though, but something to look into!

If you come back to it, I think that what I was most itching for was being able to further investigate the evidence myself, instead of being told how to interpret it. Like, at least having to click on it to see if the dates on the receipt matched the testimony, kind of thing. Already an excellent little jam though. Great work :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so very much!!

Interesting catch for the lamp oil, not sure why that was happening but will for sure look into it.

As for the evidence I could not agree more, I totally intended to go back through all the evidence descriptions and fill them out but I ran out of time lol.

Thank you so much for playing the game! Thrilled you liked the theme take as well ^^
