really fun game and progression, it kept me interested until the very end.  The game really needs a map. its way to hard to map everything in my mind. I had to check the screenshot multiple times and that was annoying. it must be ingame with a keypress (if it was ingame i was too stupid to find it sry).

The game is fun and reminded me a lot of symphony of the night.

Really great game i managed to get all masks :D

The game is well made. It could have used a reset-spawn point option because I got stuck at the same spot as ToughKittywampus with 5/7 masks. Or if that path was inaccessible until you had the necessary mask powers.

How dare you leave him behind, my dear friend for 28mins (ok less than that, I picked him halfway)

Great map with lot of challenges. I’m not good at those games, especially without a controller, but I did it.

Nice background music, and nice progression. It could’ve been a bit easier especially for a jam where you want people finishing it. But nevertheless, well done!

I would’ve liked to see some visual VFX when reaching saves (or sound), it’s a quick add (2min audioplayer on on_enter), and help make the game feel whole. And also a death counter.

Really cool metroidvania! Ambitious genre to tackle for a jam, I was surprised by the size of the map. I might just be bad but I got a little frustrated with how unforgiving some of the platforming felt, but the controls are really solid and the abilities combine together very well. Very cool entry!

Softlocked myself here because I didn't know double jump was a thing. Started over and finished with 6/7 masks thinking it would be nice to have a timer but felt like I didn't really complete it without having all the masks. So had to do another run then found out the clock itself was a mask and finished with 9:17. I feel like I cheated a little by using the map you posted. Would have been neat to have that map in the game but with unvisited areas blocked out. The sounds were so fitting and gave me flashbacks to my SuperMetroid experience. Fantastic entry. Very well done.

Glad you enjoyed game and I appreciate you sticking through it :)

I agree with you on the in-game map. That was an important feature that I unfortunately didn't have time to add in. I figured it would be challenging without a map so I included a picture of it on the page in case people got lost or frustrated.

Your picture shows the patch of wall on the right that in hindsight I could have put 2 spikes on to make it not possible to pass without double jump and get soft-locked. Play testing definitely help make these things clearer. I think it's also clear from comments that the 7th mask is not easy to find so I would try to make it more visible to the player as they pass through in a post-jam update of the game.

Thanks again for the feedback!

I wish I was good at these games - I'm not. But I had a good go! Graphics are lovely and it's not the controls fault that can't jump right... I did enjoy the part that I played!

Good puzzle platformer with very polished controls, good job!

Really great entry! There were some parts that were a little janky and almost made me quit but I reached the end! Somehow with only 6 masks though. The audio is really good too. Great level design aswell. Being teased with new abilities made it so fun to finally get them!

This game was amazing! After for playing for a bit, I managed to get 6 masks. The controls felt great, and all the mechanics were super fun!  Really awesome game :)

I really enjoyed this one! Felt very polished. I only got to 5 masks, as I struggled a bit when I wanted to get the other ones and decided to play other games. I do want to come back and finish this game though, it was really fun!

Very nice Metroidvania game. The control feels very nice.

The level design was also good. I got 6/7 masks before the end. And It was tricky to find the double jump

But the game is lacking polishing, hope

Also, please rate Spectral Mask back <3

Nice! After a lot of struggle, I got to 5 masks! I felt really good about the progression until that point, and then I got a little lost by the level layout (probably my fault for not having a good sense of direction). Platforming felt really comfortable. The floating jump was particularly fun to acquire and use!

Good job! I got 5/7 masks and seem to have softlocked myself at the beginning of the wide room on the left of the map, but maybe there was just something I was missing

Thanks for playing! Yeah it sounds like you needed the double jump mask. Looks like I didn't lock down the final zone properly :)
