Very fun and good presentation!

I am not the best rythmn game player and I liked the design and music. I agree with Palin_drome down there that the controls should be relative. That doesn't excuse my poor score btw.

It was so fast that I panicked, Great Game! I didn't do well cause Im not quick with key clicking stuff, but cool game!

Cool game, unique concept horror + rhythm game, but I have some serious qualms with these controls and a bug that lets you get at least an 80% (just wanting to point this out btw I'm not trying to dig at you I just thought I had some unique insight to give).

I'm also going to preface this by saying that I'm a musician and I also play music games; you really should have the controls correspond to where they are relative to each other on screen to where they are on the keyboard, this is only not the case on brass & woodwind instruments even on strings it is sequential, otherwise it's very unintuitive and breaks rhythm game design convention. On a real piano keyboard the keys are all sequential you don't go back to a lower key to play a higher note, I honestly think the game would be more intuitive if it used the whole row of keys (from 'a' to ';') instead of repeating the same to reach higher pitches or having separate keys to do combination inputs, that way you can intuitively do combos and play different pitches without separate controls and repeating.

Aside from better feedback to the player, I want to mention that you can cheese the entire game and get 80% by just pressing all the keys at once, and I only did this to check the story (sry), there's some weird hit detection going on, but I know from experience making a rhythm is quite challenging and still this game is functional which is impressive for a week!

Thanks for your comment! I’m also a musician, and while we initially considered having a different key for each note, we were a little concerned with feasibility, especially with the additional harmonization mechanic. It’s definitely something we’ll look at re-working in the future!

This game is so cool, I'm really bad with typing without looking so I didn't do very well but I think the concept is well executed and the storyline works great with the gameplay, not sure if you're supposed to be able to spam keys but it is possible. Spooky game :D

This was great! Ive played some rhythm games before but this was a humbling experience. I love the pixel art, and there was even story progression! Y'all had an graceful execution of this game in the jam period. I didn't quite understand the hold notes. If you held the notes until they timed out, it counted, but if you let go presumably while the end was in your little success box, it sometimes didn't count if you let go too soon. This made it especially difficult to do the chained hold notes. I'm sure you're aware as well, but there's not really a penalty for just pressing every key, for every note, and I did take advantage of that in a few areas lol. I loved the art, I loved the music. Excellent work!

Nice game idea, was fun playing it but also difficult to hit the correct keys on time, good job!

Cool idea. It would be nice if there was no singing when you hit the wrong notes.

cool idea, unfortunately my keyboard and reflexes aren't the best for these games. Pretty nice otherwise.

beautiful and creative game with fun and satisfying mechanics!! i was playing on a non-qwerty keyboard so the controls were pretty awkward but for a game jam i understand adding options to rebind all the keys would be a real pain lol. im a musician and love rhythm games so this was otherwise perfect for me. excellent work on the music and the system, great job!!

Amazing! I felt like an uncultured swine, for not understanding the musical terminology, but it was stikll enjoyable. The music, the atmosphere, the characters, and the dark twist of the story, pure cinema! ❤️

The semicolon key... it destroyed me. Great performance though!

Rhythm games aren't really my thing. This might be one of the few rhythm games I played. And I like it though I didnt score much😅

It’s a really fun rhythm game!
Unfortunately, I’m not very used to the English keyboard, so I ended up ruining all the songs... I think that’s probably why I died at the end.
I really like the overall color scheme, and the design and dialogue of the non-human beings that appear in the middle seem to hint at a kind of Lovecraftian horror — which I love!
I’m planning to try again once I get more familiar with the keyboard. Maybe if I finish with a higher score next time, the conductor will spare me...?

I wish the game was set up similar to Guitar Hero where the note come toward/down to you instead of moving to the left and the keys are always in the same lane. Cause if your someone like myself that still needs to glance at his keyboard to type, trying to keep track of which key to press is almost impossible. Guess its good there is no failure to the game other then a percentage score.

I'm a big rhythm game enjoyer and tying the notes to the keyboard keys was a really interesting idea! It added a lot of challenge in a good way. The art and aesthetics were also beautiful! Great game :>

Great rhythm game with nice art, sound design and musics! There was one time where the music is out of sync with the notes, though, but other times it sync nicely and more like a skill issue from my part.

I'm pretty confident about my ability to play music games on my smartphone. But actually on PC it's a different story. The art style of the game is impressive. Unfortunately the duration is quite short. I wonder if I played all the levels perfectly would have had a different ending.
