I like how their deaths are your opportunity lol

The combat is not very interesting, after the 2nd room I would have liked a better sword so I could 1 hit the basic enemies.

Throwing while moving and pressing E was a bit fiddly as well. Would have prefered left click to throw while holding a person.

Walking was a bit slow. In general if I get what the solution is and just doing it takes time then I'm getting bored. 

The best thing hollow knight 2 added was the sprint ability lol

The boss fight was pretty cool. Putting him on the hook was pretty funny lol

I plan to revisit the game and finish it. I think it has a lot of potential and I haven't seen the "use dead body" mechanic in many games so that might be a novelty, but I have to polish the rest of the game.

-Add more art (the environments look plain because of course I didn't have time to make a ton of art for the jam, all programming and art was done by me so that took a lot of my time)

-Add more mobility to the knight (pogo, dashing, sprinting so people won't get bored while traversing the levels)

-Add more things to do with the bodies (use them in several ways for new traps, use them as shields against archers, feed them to lions so they let you pass, etc..)

-Add more enemies. Archers, mages, sub bossesm probably divide the castle on giant levels with bosses at the end of each level...

-Add power ups (for recovering health, stamina for longer sprinting times, maybe even to unlock special abilities like climbing, dashing)

-Maybe even a way to charge up your throw so you can throw the bodies further away.

So yes, this is helpful. I agree that using E while moving (mainly right) is a problem. I'd switch it for a mouse button, probably revisit all controls  since I'll be adding more mechanics and adding support for console controllers.

This was a solid, well made entry! Not gonna lie, when I first saw how springy the jump was for how heavily armored the knight was, I thought it was funny and pretty adorable, but that thought didn't linger for long. I've seen a couple different entries involving using the player's corpse as a solid object, so I thought using the guards was an interesting twist! I think it could've been fun if something happened when you threw one knight at another, like maybe using them as a ranged weapon haha, but then again maybe not. Good work!

Yeah, I thought about the jump, but the thing is that 1 block jump it would have made for even simpler puzzles. The math added up with a 2 blocks jump and bodies to stack up to 3 or4 blocks.

And yes, many suggested that damaging guards with other guard's bodies would have been nice, I'm probably going to continue the game so I'll sure add that too.

A great way to use the theme, stacking corpses isn't usually something I see in game jams but this has convinced me that that should change. There is an issue with the setting though, where if you turn the sounds off it defaults to normal if you die. An overall good game though, well done.

this is pretty solid, i enjoy a puzzle game.

it is a little simple but that's not a bad thing, especially with how much you got together in time for the jam.

had a few times where I had to reset because things got stuck in weird spots, but at least there's a reset for it.

Nice game , the puzzles were great they were real fun to play..And loved the detail of how the background light reflects on the knight..Although i'd like to point out that when enemy hit's you, the noise was super loud,very loud,but that aside it was a super cool experience

Great theme and actually really fun way of doing combat on this scale! The levels were straight-forward but worked well. Visually very pleasing with good sound effects. All-round a fun experience!

Solid game! I love the use of the theme and the mechanics! I will say, the level with the two guards and the big pit of spikes, I just walked and jumped across the pit without really needing to use a guard. Not taking any points off the rating because of that or anything, just figured I'd bring it up.

Yeah, there's a way of restarting the level, I mean... if you throw yourself before the bodies that means you failed the puzzle :-D it's not a bug, you know in advance you can't jump over those spikes so you should figure out that you need to throw the bodies. I wanted to add that "Oh shoot!" moment if you drop without the bodies. LOL. Thanks for playing!!

Very simple and well-executed; Levels were a bit repetitive, and I feel like there were some wasted opportunities with the nice throwing mechanic (some more spiky parkour levels that required bodies would've been great), combat was a nice break from the puzzles, and the king trying to stab you behind your back was pretty funny. Had a fun time, good job!

I'm hoping to continue after the jam, add archers, more elements to interact, more things to do with the bodies, etc... in any case, thanks for playing! I liked the game — it’s cute, easy to play, and fun! Congrats on the game’s concept! I really liked the art, the music, and the puzzles — simple but satisfying to solve. Congrats :)

By the way, I managed to get a soft lock by throwing the character into a spot where I couldn’t reach them again.

There's an option to restart the level if you fail (just press ESC) it would be useful if you throw by mistake an enemy into a high place or if you forget to throw the bodies down in the spikes level or anything like that. I'm glad you liked it! I'll be playing yours too.

Was fun to make towers of corpses and to hang them on the hooks. The king boss was a bit challenging, but finally I got to beat him

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Yeah, I wanted the king to be harder than the rest, I think it's a spike in difficulty, maybe in the middle I should have added an enemy not as hard as the king but not as easy as the guards. Anyways, thanks for playing, your game is fun too!

Thanks! Yes, I haven't seen it either in this jam so far, most people go for the classic "die/respawn/use own body" to solve puzzle levels and I wanted to do it a bit different. I'm glad you liked it, and your game is great too, I love point and click adventures and the console mechanic is super cool, like when trapped souls try to talk to you through the console, loved that! Great job!

I really liked this game! It fits the theme of "death is an opportunity" in the way that you can use the guards (and king!) that you killed to solve puzzles and vault obstacles with! I also really like the colors and aesthetic in the game, it kinda reminds me of terraria. I liked the small challenge that the king boss fight brought at the end, and I loved that the game was short, sweet, and to the point! 

Speaking of points, I also liked the spikes! They look a lot like the ones from I Wanna Be The Guy and I'm a big fan of those rage platformers like Super Meat Boy.

Thanks a lot! I'm super glad you liked it! The sprites were all done by me and yes, I wanted it to be short and not just fill them with extra repetitive levels so that everyone could complete it in a few minutes and get the full picture.

You wouldn't happen to have the web version of your game, would you? because I want to return the favor by playing yours but I have restrictions downloading .exe in this PC.

Ahh, no, there's not a web version, but we have had many streamers play the game! If you'd like, we can send you someone's clip of them completing the whole game if you'd like to rate based off that, but I can understand if not. My computer has the same restrictions, so my partner lets me play all the downloadable games on his computer, haha. 

Additionally, we could send you the game file through discord, which I've noticed doesn't set off the computer alarm. Let me know, and we'll make it happen!

but i dont fully understand the connection to the theme, even though I died multiple times. what was the opportunity?

Thanks! I probably will, I'm working on my next game for another jam and I'm adding archers (mostly based on the guard sprite from this game), so I could probably revisit this  game and add more levels, characters and items. Probably even a sorcerer as a sub-boss, who knows...

About the combat, sure, I wanted to implement dash and pogo mechanics, and I also wanted to add more elements, but the jam was short, I didn't have time. Thanks for the feedback!
