Very fun game! I enjoy this one a lot! Reminds me of the best era of old Flash games.

I enjoy the tight, and fast game play mechanics. It's a game that rewards the player for spending time with it and improve their skills.I also enjoy learning a bit about the different characters that you can possess. But I also find that some of them are not as powerful to control compared to when they are the enemy haha.

I would love to see some improvements such as controller support, which I think would be my preferred method of playing these types of games, more sound and visual effects for jumping, and some platforming quality of life features like coyote time or jump buffering. Dying while killing the last enemy in a wave is also kinda stressful waiting for them to spawn haha.

Overall this is a very solid entry considering the time frame. Great job!

Thanks for the feedback! I would've reused the particles I've made for the jumping and landing stuff but I didn't have time to add those stuff lol, I already added sounds for when you land and jump tho. also I already added cayote time and jump buffer into the platformer controller, though I may have made the cayote window a bit too short so I might tweak that a bit. The stronger enemies personally are really powerful and can easily wipe out entire groups, plus they're slightly buffed in speed and damage when you possess them, but it punishes the player for being too reckless with power, I might make it a bit more forgiving in the future if I ever continue working on this tho.

Oh yeah another small thing I forgot to mention is that the first time you load up the game you don’t get to do anything, so I was wondering why the shooting doesn’t work haha. Maybe you could let the player still shoot but be really weak their first life to teach the controls or something like that.

Thanks! but like I said to another commenter, the player already gets to learn a lot without the use of the tutorial, in a way, the white vessel IS the tutorial. when you start the game, you start with the weakest vessel that dies on 1 hit, the player would instantly get the understanding of the movement and since you can't attack, the player dies but then restarts. the second try usually resorts to them figuring out how to steal a vessel (hence the text that appears infront). the moment they steal a vessel, they get the grasp on how to play the game. if I were to give the player a weapon of sorts, they wouldn't know that they're able to steal bodies to begin with since they'd mostly rely on the weak weapon not realizing that you're supposed to possess bodies. if you managed to figure out how to play the game without a full blown tutorial, then that means it's done it's job!

I love this game and think its really fun, however the gun guys and sword guys spawn wayy more than the wario and magician guys so if i ever get tired of being a badass and slicing down hordes of mobs or turtling in the corner for my lives to regen, well then i gotta wait, although thats not too big of a problem.

This is insanely polished and juiced for a jam game! Really satisfying gameplay loop and use of the theme for some really nice arcade gameplay! You should definitely continue working on this, adding more levels and enemies, maybe even upgrades! This is awesome!

I honestly think giving the gun guys limited ammo was fair enough, I was able to cheese 10 points just by waving the mouse back and forth and holding left click haha.  Very nice action.

I really enjoyed this game! It's a wonderful and well polished high score game. Loved the variety of enemy types and having the ability to possess and play as them. The lives system made it just challenging enough. Game feel was some of the best I've seen in the jam. Great attention to detail. Everything felt so satisfying. Amazing work on this one!

What a hectic and juicy experience. Despite the simple graphics, the animations are amazing and the hits are impactful. The music complements it perfectly.

I would have liked a slightly more complex map. Because enemies spawn only from one side when you're at the edge of the map, it was easy to use the rifle enemy and basically decimate them, then switch to another one when out of ammo, rinse and repeat. It was good that you added limited ammo, but maybe having them also spawn from above, for example, would have mitigated the camping issue.

Either way, this was a blast. Well done!

Yeah, I realized i should've made the enemies spawn at the edge of the border wayy after the jam but yeah, it's a learning experience for me! Thanks for the feedback!

Super super fun with a very creative concept and an addictive gameplay loop! Movement felt really smooth coupled with the fluid animation work, and the different mechanics of each vessel helped keep things fresh. Great work :)

I was so surprised when I saw someone else made a game with the same title as mine! Lol “Reincarnage” is just a great game name! I love your take on the theme, and the gameplay is super fast paced and fun. This is absolutely a 5 start submission all around, well done!

Very fun! Great aesthetic (YOMI style is excellent)! I did start getting a bit nauseous with the screenshake after some time but other than that was a great time!
