How does your game fit the theme?
I took the pals = friendly approach because you need them to finish the game and a little of the pal-world side because you need to catch them.

Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 4 days?

Yes

that dash ability really puts the super in “Super Monkey Pals”, I just flew to the top and won without catching any monkeys XD

after that I went around like superman and caught them all, lol

btw, the lower your fps the higher you fly when dashing

Wasn't expecting to find a 3D platformer in the submissions, you did great! Love the monkeys doing the mixomo dance :V

Developer

Thank you for trying it out! Monkey dancing = cute

It's like chasing the mario 64 bunny in the cellar all over again :P

Some jumps were a bit frustrating but was a lot of fun.

Small tip for your future platformers though: Try projecting a round shadow to the ground below the player (either as decal or a raycast set circle graphic like in old games). It would help immensely with the spatial perception of the jumps.

Developer(+1)

Yeah I thought about it actually but for some reason the decals in Godot aren't supported in OpenGL and I didn't take the time to make another workaround! Hopefully it didn't bother you too much, the game is pretty short o/ Thank you for playing!

This reminded me of super mario 64. Really fun challenges and really precise jumping required. Had a ton of fun. Great work!

Developer

That was the idea so great, thank you for playing!

Very fun platforming! The controls/responsiveness make it satisfying to move around. The little jingle and dance when catching the pals is cute too :)

Some ambient sounds or music would help flesh it out but otherwise the audio all

Also thank you for the shortcuts, I reached the last platform with 19/20 and had missed the 1 pal that's behind you at the start XD

Developer(+1)

I actually spent time making a music the monday morning but my soft crashed and I lost so much progress I decided to go without it (: shit happens, another lesson of why you must save more often!

Glad the shortcuts were useful! Thank you for playing!

I like Jump Puzzles, but i never dashed on left click ^^ would like it to have it on shift ^^

Developer

Thanks for trying it out! I know people always hate when it triggers the sticky keys on Windows while spamming shift. Hopefully it didn't bother you too much.

18 / 20!

Ahhh so close but one too many falls from the top of the ice box to the ground and I was done. I really liked it though, especially once you learn how to abuse the dash mechanic!

I must say I was originally aiming to get 10 and then be done, but the 10 monkey skip that unlocks was the perfect, and I mean perfect thing to make me keep playing! And to then have an interior zone where you could dash around without worrying to much, just great, great level design

Also funny dances xD

Developer

Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed it enough to keep going after the 10!

It's funny, I was actually planning on making a 3D platformer with Connor myself before pivoting to the rhythm game idea, so I'm glad someone actually made one.

Developer

Well I'm glad you didn't cause your game is a jam! Thank you for playing!

Movement/camera feel  responsive and aesthetics reminiscent of old school Nintendo 3d. Adding a soundtrack would be nice as well as volume settings since the jump grunt sound becomes repetitive.

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Love the art style and the game design! ^^

I like this one. The graphics are adorable, really like the models. I like the fact that the monkeys run away from you, I like the fact that the game has properly implemented coyote time - which jam games usually do not have the time to implement.
At first I thought that the game has very brutal platforming, then I learned that I was missing one movement option. And then I learned that this is actually a super man game. I'll be honest, I do not think you intended to give the player the ability to fly - but I honestly like it better this way than if you couldn't ^^

Developer

Thank you! I spent a lot of time on the player controller yeah, I saw (a bit late) that you could spam the lunge move but I figured it was more fun with than without! Glad you enjoyed flying around!
