Because of the limited time, the game design and ludic parts of the game were compromised, these are known issues and I want to fix this with my team when I make this a full game! Thank you for reporting!

Thank you!

Teper (The artist) and I have been working together since 2021, we used to start a new project every two weeks and never finish any of them :V, it was crazy! I got a job in a games publisher/developer in 2023 and I've been working there ever since. Me Teper and some work colleagues launched our first 'solo' project earlier this year (which is Bananitro, one of the prize winners from last year's Monkey Jam!).

This year's team we got Manodeix and KlebO, they're from Brazil's GameMaker community, they've been making games since 2022 (i think).

Thank you for testing our game!

Teper, our artist, also did all of the level design, and even WE were impressed by his work! All compliments on level design go to him!

The game lacks two very important features for platformers: The Jump Buffer which helps the player jump after landing while keeping the momentum, and a Coyote Timer, which lets the player be able to jump a few frames after falling from a platform. The lack of these features contribute to the "weirdness" you feel with the player movement! We knew we needed to do this but we ran out of time...

The thing is, you wouldn't have to encounter situations where you felt weird about the controls if the level design had so many parts where it requires precision platforming! The level design was good but it needed to let the player run around through 100% of it, I'd say it's currently like, 80%...

The error that showed on your last screenshot might have happened because of outdated video drivers! It's not a common GameMaker crash, it's a graphics API error!

I'm glad you enjoyed the game! And i appreciate the feedback! <3

Appreciate the feedback!

Thanks!!!!

Wow this was a very in depth analysis! Thank you for playing the game!

The mouse being registered as a confirm button for the UI is a bug! Not ony that, but not being able to call the pause menu while in game is also a bug!

We wanted to make a more ludic way of showing the story to the player, but unfortunately we only had time to put it on the game's page But basically the birds were stealing all of the bananas, you were right about making them more evil :V

Thank you for the feedback on the music!!! Me and KlebO worked around the clock to make the soundtrack!

We kinda messed up the controls... Using 'J' to attack is way more confortable when using 'WASD' which we never mentioned in-game.

You have probably found an infinite loop at the end, not a crash, which caused the game window to be frozen, i am EXTREMELY sorry, we never found this during testing...

I still hope you enjoyed the game even while encountering these issues...

LATAM MENCIONADO!!!1!! I feel like the feedback that i could give to you has been said in the comment section! But still love the cute visuals, and loved the challenge!

Yooo, thank you so much!! I'll try your game!

<3

Awwww thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Very good looking and very polished! A bit challenging but i think that might be because i'm having skill issues 💀! Loved the punchy sound effects too, they made the game even more satysfying!

The most HELL YEAH game in the jam so far, and i've tried almost half of the games! SO EPIC!

Wasn't expecting to find a 3D platformer in the submissions, you did great! Love the monkeys doing the mixomo dance :V

Confusing! Maybe with some instructions in the game page it would help a lot... Very unique and interesting visuals! would love some equally cursed audio to go with it :V

Challenging but great! Even playing this by myself it's still a very fun experience! There were some physics bugs, and they sometimes helped me IMMENSELY, but overall pretty good!

I have no friends so this is too hard for me! I loved the music, it made me feel like i'm in a german rave party :V

Cool! Reminds me of Incredibox!

Simple but punchy and juicy! Very good survivors-like!

Loved the cute visuals! Very addicting gameplay loop! Had plenty of fun playing this!

Thank you! GameMaker does miracles with filesize!

They're Polly Roger's goons! They stole all of the bananas from Potasia Island! Thank you for playing!

Insane game for a weekend! Very good mechanics and very good visuals!

FIRE!!! Very interesting take on the theme, and very good concept for turn based combat!

Very challenging but very fun! My only comment is with the audio, i kinda made me feel uneasy, still very funny!

Loved the visuals! Pretty good!

Learning game development is mostly practice and references! After making some games and trying what works and what doesn't it kind of becomes part of your intuition! It's also good to try to replicate stuff you see in other games too! It's a fun technical exercise and you get to see what works!

I'm happy you enjoyed the game!

Appreciate the positive feedback!

Interesting spritework, i loved the challenge mechanics and wait a minute... is that THE ASEPRITE LOGO???

Got kinda confused, but when i went to the comment section i discovered that the camera scrolls! Great visuals! Very solid puzzle design! I just wish there was a tutorial...

HAHA yeah! it was one of the samples used in klebO's track!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Loved the art and the voiceover! Reminds me of earthbound!

Loved the post processing and all of the visuals! Pretty good game!

I can't play horror games, but damn... this looks SICK!

I'd play this for hours! I love this kind of physics puzzle platformer, reminds me of those marble games!

Really good looking, i loved the main mechanic! The game is really challenging and i've had many skill issues... Still enjoyed the game!

Very good take on the theme! Should be in the top 5 on the theme category!

Great use of the theme! Great mechanics! Concise visuals! Overall pretty solid!

Glad you enjoyed!

I know how technically complicated it is to make a rhythm game so great job! Not only did you make a rhythm game, but everything works propperly!

Fun experiment!
