Ended with a score of 76880! That yippee sound caught me off-guard, really cute haha. My main feedback is that it took me a bit of effort and trial and error to understand how to play the game and how the resources relied on each other so maybe something like a tutorial or hover text would have been helpful? That being said, the music and sunlight/leaf graphics really worked well with the game and I found the tree growth satisfying (though sometimes I wished it would grow a bit more so that the placement of things on the tree could be more intentional rather than fitting things in wherever there's space)! Awesome job with this :D
I like the growing a lot, it's a totally different approach than what I took, and I got a lot of respect for that.

Visually speaking, I think it is a really good combination of colors adn shapes, the movin sun ray was a really nice touch. Althoug I must say (and this is just subjective I think) that I think the pixel art it is missing one "polish point" at the edges of the trees, like sometimes, the pixel looks a bit "inconsistent" with long straight lines, and then there is this:
that effecto of light in the edges is reeeeally good, I think you should apply it to the rest of the trees, and even, not just in the border, but in the middle, to recreate the bark of the trunks, I think with just a little touch you could have and much improved style. (again, just a sugggestion, please don't take it as if I am criticising your work, I think it's great)
The idea and core mechanics I think they are really good, this is the kind of city builder I actually like, a clear setup with some specific resources related to the "lore" itself ( in this case, "things a tree need to be alive") , but I didn't quite understand how it works I must say, I keep staying in growth stage 2 and don't really know how to keep growing. most probably is me who is missing something. But
Also I tried reloading with esc key, but everytime the game was getting frozen.
Hi, thanks a lot for the feedback! I agree that there are definietly a couple of things to do to make it look prettier! Some texture work on the main tree bark and more work on the background could go a long way. Making game for a jam always comes with limitations unfortunately, but that's something that we keep in mind.
We can also definietly work on the clarity of the game. I feel like we did not make it clear enough what to do. To grow further you need to satisfy tree's needs, which can be accomplished by putting the Tree buildings down such as water drains, leaves and worm attractors / beehives.
Once again, thanks for the feedback, much appreciated! :)
Great submission guys, I really enjoyed how the tree grows.
Enjoyed spending time with this one, good work 👍
Hey hey! Thanks, glad you liked it!
I really enjoyed this game, what a unique idea! I like the random element of how the tree will grow once it gets its resources, makes it a more natural experience than other builder games. Felt challenging but also relaxing, what a treat!
Hey hey! Glad you enjoyed it! The natural growth of the tree was our main goal. We tried multiple approaches to that and to be honest spent most of the time on it so glad it paid off! Thanks again!
This game has great potential, and its combination of city management and biological growth is well done. The atmosphere is well crafted, both visually and aurally, which makes for a very enjoyable experience.
However, the learning curve remains quite steep. Beginner players like me, or those unfamiliar with city builder games, can quickly feel overwhelmed by the amount of information displayed at once and find themselves stuck. I ran out of wood very quickly in my first game and couldn't find a way around it. The addition of a simple guided game, explanatory tooltips, and a should significantly reduce this obstacle. The visibility of an item's placement is poor, and there is a dark square under the item.
Good job, I want more
Hey hey! Thanks for leaving a comment. We kinda forgot that other people who'll be playing this game would not have spent past 9 days creating it, so we had a skewed vision of what's obvious or not. We'll definitely try to make things much clearer next time! Thanks again for the feedback!
Really clever concept and the expansion theme couldn’t be more directly baked in. I liked how the upgrades weren’t just cosmetic but changed how you had to think about balancing growth and survival. There’s a satisfying rhythm to it once you get going and it makes you want to start another tree straight away.
The soft painterly palette really sells the woodland setting and works perfectly with the theme of Autumn. UI was clear and everything was visually easy to parse without sacrificing style. I especially liked how much personality you squeezed out of those little forest critters.
Hey hey! Thank you for the kind words! The forest critters, also known as Treeblorbos, are 100% full of our main programmer's passion, vision, and voice so that's thanks to him.
This is a nice cozy game, and the art is nice, cohesive, and unique. It has a good spread of management considerations and choices. I really enjoyed watching the tree grow each stage, and wish i could have given it more time to see how big the trees can get.

Hey hey! First of all, thank you for the kind words. And yeah, clarity in the resources is something we overlooked, we'll work on it more next time!
What a unique concept! Combining a city builder an the growth of a tree was pretty cool! Sadly I ran into a few softlocks which stopped me from progressing! Mainly that no matter how many water traps I place my water never went up from 0 again, no matter what I did.
Also, sometimes when I started the game and opened one of the submenus the game crashed!
All in All on of the better projects in this game! Without the softlocks it would have been one of my favourites :)
Keep it up & great work :)
Hey hey! Glad you enjoyed it. Sorry to hear about the crashes, we'll try our best to figure out what's causing them, but a fix will have to come after the jam.
Very fun experience! I think implementing incremental elements with tree growth and organic village size increases is very original and not something I've seen done very often! I also found myself in an unwinnable state but a quick restart and figuring out the mechanics after, I had a good time all the way to the yippee. Great job!
Thank you kindly! Appreciate the feedback! Clarity is definietly something for us to work on. We are happy that you enjoyed it! Many thanks!
That was a little delight to play! I liked the organic growth of the trees and how I could quickly try new ones before starting the game. As others have also stated, I was a bit overwhelmed by everything presented at once, got into an unwinnable state, and restarted. Once I figured out the initial build order, and then the two layers of resources, I was able to progress. I was also glad to get a "yippee" just as I was about to call it, too.
Great first submission to GWJ! I hope to see more :-)
Many thanks!! I am really glad that people are actually getting to "yippiees"! It has been really fun to participate and we'll definietly be joining in the other GWJs! :)
Love the concept and the vibe created by the art, lighting, particles and music. I also really like the freeform base building and felt that the resource balance was os nearly there. I got a bit confused as to what building generated what resource as I was looking for symbols rather than reading the words. I also ended up getting into a locked state where I didn’t have enough resources to build anything.
Other than those two points though, really entertaining and loads of future potential!
Thanks for the feedback and kind words! We agree that the game could use some more clarity and that's definietly something for us to work in the future! :)
I really like the concept of this, and very much enjoyed the art style.
Thank you! Much appreciated! :)
This is really delightful! I got to the yippeee which was rewarding and made me laugh. I really liked trying to cram everything onto the tree. I think my biggest feedback is just that I could've used way more help onboarding and understanding the game, I eventually pieced it together from intuition about similar games, but just tooltips for everything and an overview of the systems would have been great. For example, it was very confusing that sun was a resource and the tree couldn't grow until it had sun, initially I thought getting the sun resource to 100/100 would make the red warning go away, then I figured it out. Overall I really had a great time and I just love the vibe and energy you put into it. Nicely done!
Hey hey! Thanks a lot for the feedback, I have added a short explanantion into the description of the game. Glad you enjoyed it!
Simple, but really engaging!
Thanks!
With the music and style of the game I get nostalgic Minecraft feelings which I really liked. Nice game.
Thanks you for the kind words!
