Liked the concept a lot!
It'd be cool if there were a system that allows you to take notes on what you are learning for the different ingredients and their effects. Also add a system that tells you what kind of enemies you'll be facing next time and there you go. A game where you learn different combinations and you have to stretagize the best combinations for upcoming enemies.
But of curse that might not be a realistic scope for a jam. Still good experiment project, have a good one!
An interesting concept! It may feel like it was a bit rushed but that's game jams for ya haha Broke for me on like the fourth battle or so, they just didn't fight. Overall, there are some fun ideas to build on here for sure!
It's awesome that you managed to get a system for upgrades actually appearing on the player up and running so quickly. The one big area of improvement in the game is the feedback; Having VFX and sound effects would make it much more clear what's going on, and make the game more fun to interact with.

What would be some very nice improvements are:
1- Audio, this would make a lot
2- Maybe some information about the power ups (You can add them on the description of the page for example)
3- Some combat reactions, like blinking or moving on attack, really important to have this feeling of something happening.

Needs a lot of audio improvements. Didn't know you can drag and drop the powerups for it but I figured out eventuallly.

Really nice implementation on the visual changes that occur when upgrading! But I did definitely miss some audio. Great job!
I liked how the dough changes how it looks based on its upgrades.
You really need better inform the player about what is going on.

I like the concept for this a lot! I think the only thing it lacks is valuable feedback for the player for when events happen in the game, but otherwise well done!
This is a really interesting idea! You could try using shapes or colors to represent the ability bonus for each pastry decoration. Right now, there isn't much visual representation for battle scene, I think putting more effort into this aspect would make the game even more fun!

Shapes and colors are definitely a good idea. And yes, visual and auditory feedback was cut because of limited time we were working with. It is very tempting to continue work on this.
Pretty fun idea. Definitely needs sound effects of any sort for feedback as well as any visual feedback for actions. Bit confusing having hp as percentage when item descriptions deal with hp points. Items cost 4 which seems arbitrary might as well be 1. But in general the idea is interesting
