Didn't get to play during voting week. Its a very cool idea, enjoyed the gameplay and the shooting mechanics.

Found a weird bug when you first load your game in the tutorial. I walked backwards and the robot fell out of the screen.

Developer

You're right, seems like I forgot to add a wall. Thank you!

Really elevated game here, I love sidescrolling shooters. Everything is really polished and the presentation is great, really consistent design on the enemy bots and weaponry. Reminds me a bit of the bots from Spongebob BfBB haha but I mean that as a compliment for sure.

Y'all gotta be really proud of this work, your artist and animator really did phenomenal work here. The gameplay is smooth and the audio is great!

Thank you very much. Sorry for the late response.

Had a ton of fun playing this game.

Developer

I'm happy to hear that

It’s an interesting choice to allow self-updates based on kill count and gear updates based on loot. I like how this challenge works, forcing you to step out of the comfort zone of your shield to collect something.

Great, well-working and looking game!

Thank you!

Very good pixel art and the waves felt pretty balanced. It was cool to see lots of different mech types to fight against

The pixel art is excellent, both environments and the mechs. Nice and moody.  The whole presentation of the UI, the tutorials etc is very polished.  Great job!

Thank you!

This game was so well executed! The pixel art is really fun and well-crafted it was really immersive! The sounds and music were on point. The gameplay was also really polished!

I have to say the love you put into the detail of the pixel art really came through, from the little robots and the helis I was captured right away!

The progression system was also implemented really effectively and that made the whole experience really enjoyable!

Great stuff!

Really enjoyed the game, it was cool to improve my mech after each run. The systems seem really well thought out and polished. The only feedback I have is that the enemy waves could be a little more randomized so that each playthrough felt a little different. But overall, the game is awesome!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the compliment! I agree with you, the enemy waves are quite boring. In fact, I've already written the code about three to four times. Maybe more enemy variation will help.

Commented on the itch.io page but forgot to leave one here:

Very cool, figuring out rotations for shot timings and turret/shield placements is satisfying.

Some slight bugs:

- If more than one menu layer is active, but the most recent one gets closed, gameplay update resumes while lower menus are still displayed

- Although the main update does pause when opening a menu, LMB/RMB is still able to be read for shooting at wherever the guns were aiming last (though perhaps that can also be inspiration for a time slow/stop mechanic)

Developer

Thanks for the bug report!

Slowing down time would be a really cool effect. I'd love to implement it. But every time I try, the performance suffer too much.

Very nice shooter / tower defense blend

I really like the mech design with the attached weapons to it, the deployable turrets and shields are also quite a nice mechanic.

My only nitpick is that the start can be quite tough since you can’t really affoard to deploy much to help you survive the waves as well, but hey you gotta start somewhere.

Reagardless it’s fun to play and the spritework is great, you did well :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! :) I will try to tweak and improve the balance for the early game.

Submitted(+1)

No worries jams be jams so balancing is hard when time’s short ^^

Very fun game. I like how you have to constantly balance where you are in the battlefield. like its not good to barrier yourself at the very beginning as you will get cornered but you also have to constantly move due to the flying robots dropping bombs. great job!

Developer

Thank you!

Solid game that is very polished. The visuals, sound effects, tutorials and UI are on point.

The gameplay is fun and interesting once you start to upgrade your shield and turrent.

Only improvement i can think of is, making the diffculty curfe a bit higher in the beginng. Just like 30% then its more challenging. Because after some time its feels just like click&shoot and the enemies can't really damage you.

Developer

Sounds great. I'll try increasing the starting difficulty and improving the balance, and maybe adding more things to do. Thanks for the suggestion.
