Yeah I understand that pressing space makes it a little unusual control-wise, but that was part of what I was trying to experiment with. Thanks for playing!

Yes I originally wanted to add an ending animation but ran out of time... but thanks for your comment and for playing!

This is a really cool entry. The movement was really interesting and a fun way to hop around. It was a little hard for me but also I don't play many bullet hell games so maybe that's why. Overall it's really fun, nice job!

Very cool game! Love the speediness of gameplay. I found the controls a little floaty and the camera a bit difficult to deal with. It might be better to have the camera centered always on the player rather than gradually lerping towards them. But those aren't huge issues. I love the mech designs and the enemy types. It's overall really good. Great job!

I agree, it was my initial plan. but I ran out of time.  Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks so much for your feedback! So glad you enjoyed it!

So sorry the controls didn't work for you, you're right I should've added other options. I'll definitely remember to do so for future game jams. Thanks for the feedback!

This is a really cool concept and the aesthetic is top tier. You easily could build this into a full game, the systems are all so well thought out. Amazing job!

A nice start. It has some interesting mechanics and nice puzzles. The tutorial needs a little work, I didn't figure out the wall jump until I read the comments here. Some extra art elements would also help. Overall a good first step!

(1 edit)

This is a lot of fun and has a lot of potential both as a normal game and as an educational tool for people learning to type. Great job!

Thanks very much for the kind comment!

Thanks for your comment, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

That's a great idea! I'll keep that in mind I decide to build on the game. Thanks for playing!

I should've put in a hard mode lol. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Thanks for playing! Yes I had hoped to lay in an actual track but I ran out of time, so had to settle for randomly generated notes. But thanks for the feedback!

So I just replayed it and the new assets really add to the experience. It felt a lot more immersive. Worth the wait for sure! Great job!

Oh for sure, my suggestions were just for future features. The game plays really well as is, and is a lot of fun!

Ah ok, I maybe just a little reminder text for players during the game would help them remember. I have a short memory lol. That's also a really interesting retaliation mechanic. I'm impressed!

Oh I'm sorry to hear that, no one else has mentioned that issue so far. Did you get into the main game? The menu doesn't have sound.

Yeah thought it would be interesting to replicate the 2-step way you play a note on a flute, by first positioning your fingers then blowing into it. That lead to this control scheme. I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!

I usually just jump into games without reading as well lol. But I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for playing!

Really fun and very replayable! The shooting was very satisfying.  A little more weapon variety would be appreciated just to mix things up, as well as a dash for movement. But overall really really good, and I hope you keep working on it!

Really enjoyed the game, it was cool to improve my mech after each run. The systems seem really well thought out and polished. The only feedback I have is that the enemy waves could be a little more randomized so that each playthrough felt a little different. But overall, the game is awesome!

The atmosphere is really great. Love the shader you used, it gave an awesome retro vibe. The stealth vibe and setting were an excellent choice.

The enemies seemed able to see me even when crouching and hiding behind stuff. I also tried the flashlight on them but I didn't notice much difference. I also agree the map was a little too empty, but at the same time that gave it some sense of realism and scope.

Overall this game just needs a few small tweaks,. It's really good!

There's certainly some room for polish but the concept is good. I love the low poly / early computer animation vibe.

Some suggestions: A dash would really help navigation, the auto lock-on is appreciated but should be controlled by the player (press a button to lock-on), and the enemies eventually overwhelm the player so the player's abilities should scale in power too.

Overall you're off to a good start!

LOVE the UI, and the layout of the game is super interesting. The core gameplay is fun and very arcade-y.

The panning of the camera threw me off a bit, it made it a little hard to aim and also hurt immersion a little too. The font was also hard to parse but I imagine at least some of that was intentional.

Overall really cool game, great job!

Really cool proof of concept. The lore seems really complex and offers a lot of room to explore. The art is something else, I was so impressed. The stats are a great addition, there's probably room to further integrate them into the gameplay. Overall really amazing start!

This was a really interesting experience, I honestly loved it. I loved that it felt like some strange futuristic console that you have to figure out. I suppose a tutorial would've been nice, but I also kinda enjoyed just figuring it out. I was like "OMG" when I realized every keystroke was a turn! This was so creative and honestly if you kept building this out you'd really have something really special. Amazing work!

Thanks for the feedback. The difficulty was a bit tricky to figure out since some friends I showed it to thought it was hard... I probably should've added a hard mode. I also agree about having different lengths of notes and I wanted to do that but I ran out of time to implement everything. Glad you liked the theme, thanks again!

That's great feedback thanks. There was supposed to be a backing track to go along with it which would've made it all feel more musical. Ran out of time though... Thanks again

Really enjoyed it! The concept and execution are awesome. I ended up out of bounds a couple times, specifically the twisty area leading upwards. I also had some trouble with the enemies but that might just have been my personal issue. Overall really great job!

Really enjoyed this game. The gameplay is solid and the graphics are great.

If I had to give notes I would say... giving the shooting a little more weight using recoil, a knockback effect on the enemies, or some sort of blast effect would make it feel more impactful. I also found it a little difficult to gain life and felt a little underpowered.

That being said, I really enjoyed the game, great work!

Yeah you're right about the background music, I was going to add some background music but ran out of time. Thanks for the feedback and for playing!

Thank you for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!

Really fun game with a lot of gameplay and depth.  There's a lot in the game and it's well thought out.

The only thing that confused me was the amount of movement I could do while also being able to attack the same turn. Maybe I missed something. Also the game only really worked for me in fullscreen for whatever reason.

This game could easily be built on and expanded with more levels so I hope you keep working on it. Great job!

Really enjoyable and the art style is awesome! Some UI for player/enemy health and some more varied enemy behaviour would be nice, but overall it's super fun. Love the final boss battle for its scale and the varied gameplay.

Awesome job!

Cool retro inspired art and vibe! The visual storytelling via the photos was really great. I got a little lost multiple times so a map or some sort of reference points (unique geography etc.) might help. A little more exposition on where the player is and what exactly they're collecting would be nice as well.

Nice work!

Amazing visuals and I've never seen formatting in Twine done this well! It's very narratively complex and thought out. The only note I have (and this is just my personal preference), would be giving the player more opportunities to "explore" the world, i.e. letting them look around a room or something like that. The puzzle section was good and I'd love if there were more sections that felt interactive like that.

But overall this is really really impressive. I got very invested in the storyline so I hope you keep working on it!

Really enjoyable mechanics. The climbing was janky in a good way; by that I mean it was satisfying and also a little goofy. The game has a certain Flash game vibe that is super nostalgic. Overall this is a really great game and I hope you decide to build on it.

A great concept and it embodied the recycle theme really well! The turn-based gameplay and upgrade system have a lot of potential. I was a little confused at first about how the upgrade system works, a small tutorial would've been nice. I also had trouble navigating the menu UI. I couldn't always tell what I could or couldn't upgrade and which items I had.

There's a lot of interesting concepts here so I really hope you build on this! Great job!
