I got stuck in the room with 3 breakable rocks, but I really like it, its very simple and cool, I like how you took an unusual approach to the jumping, its very rare to see this kind of jumping in a 2d platformer and you nailed it, I like it.

The game is interesting, but the controls are a bit too difficult for me.

Jump is a bit hard to control, but it's impressive that you've manage to make a fully-working Metroidvania for a short game jam. The looping mechanic is pretty interesting.

Cool!
I tried really hard for ages but couldn't work out where to go after the second block breaking ability.

Thanks for playing! After the second gun upgrade you can get the first door key on the bottom right corner. (There's a walkthrough map marked as spoiler on the game page!)

Damn, a whole metroidvania for a jam game? Insane work! Very well done on making all the "keys" and "locks" work mechanically. I got quite frustrated with the release-to-jump but that's probably just a me thing. Great entry! :)

This was really well pulled off for such a short time! I did somehow manage to get victory without getting all the keys or powerups

By the way, thanks for playing my game!

Going for a metroidvania in a short jam is pure madness, and you pulled it off !

The controls feels really good, and the art alongside the music sold the NES Metroid vibe perfectly.

Well done !

Cool Idea!

Honestly a game I could see myself getting into. Jump controls are fresh and really expressive, level layout is neat, all of the visuals and audio fit really well together, and the upgrades are simple but unique and well utilized.

Thank you, we're glad you enjoyed! I'm planning on continuing development after the jam for a bit at least, please look forward to updates ^u^

making a metroidvania in just four days is crazy work, congrats! I really liked the upgrades, very creative

I was lucky to get an artistic talent contribute in a short notice so I had time to focus on other stuff. I was working with the game until dawn at the night before the final day because I would be busy that day. At 4 am I still didn't have a soundtrack yet but I somehow managed to make something not too bad in like maybe 40 min lol

I LOVE THIS GAME! But I find the controls a bit strange.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! And yes, I did make the controls a bit... experimental.

Submitted(+1)

Great game! I found the jump and aiming controls a bit confusing, but I imagine that's due to my lack of experience playing these types of games. Overall great work, I'm surprised you got so much done in such a short amount of time!

Developer

Thank you! Honestly, I didn't expect to get this much done, either. The controls can feel weird because I tried to be experimental, for better or for worse.

Thanks for playing!

Love the 8-bit vibe :D

Fun! Definitely captures that old-school NES kind of vibe, especially the soundtrack choice and textures.
