How does your game fit the theme?
The idea was inspired by the "Water Cycle". The player has to "loop" through the liquid and gas phases of water to avoid certain obstacles and achieve game goals (save the forest from the fires!).

nice game! love the tutorial, its fast and effective! well done :)
Cute game, and fun to play! I see from the description and your other comments that this is your first ever game? Amazing work!
I do have a couple of suggestions. I think the pickup radius on the water particles could have been a bit larger, and a clearer signal for when the cloud is dropping water and when it isn’t would have been helpful (there seems to be an initial burst of rain but you can put out fires for a little while after that burst, but not forever). I found E to switch phases to be a little bit fiddly, since my index finger is also needed to move right, I would maybe suggest Shift instead, but that’s very much a nitpick.
Overall, great game, and extremely impressive for a first ever game!
Thank you so much! Yes, this is my first ever game 😄
Your feedback is spot on. Increasing the water particle pickup radius would make the interaction feel smoother for the player. Several other players have also suggested indicators for where the rain would fall, I think this coupled with your recommendation of a more clearer signal of when the rain was dropping would make the gameplay feel more intuitive. I was also planning to make it so keybinds could be reassignable (the system code is in the files), but I believe I made some time management issues and didn’t have the time to make its UI, I think this may have solved the key issues by allowing players to select the controls they feel the most comfortable. If I decide to polish the game more after the jam, I will definitely implement your suggestions!
Thank you again for playing my game and your great feedback, means a lot to me!
Wow the art here is amazing! And your take on the theme is INGENIOUS! 27/5! lol Great entry!
Thank you so much 😄 I’m really glad you liked the idea and the art, means a lot to me!
The tutorial is on point, very well done! The music is on theme and the controller easy to understand! The only thing i would suggest is having a fixed shadow for the ground location of the player, I felt a little bit lost when converting back from a cloud. (But at the same time, maybe that was intentional). Good job!
Thank you very much! This was my first game so I tried to make the tutorial as smooth as possible by intorucing story and mechanics one by one, glad I was able to make it work! I completely agree with your feedback, some sort of indicator for the player location and the rain locations could make the gameplay smoother and more intuitive. I guess during development I got used to the patterns and didn’t spot the issue, shows the importance of play testing! Thank you so much again for playing my game 😄
Very impressive for a first game, and the gameplay is also interesting and fun. I'm not sure if you made the assets, but they also look good!
Great job :D
Wow, thank you so much for the great comment 😄 I made all assets like the rocks, trees, animations, players, water shader etc. inside Unity myself (I’m especially proud of the rock asset and tree animations), I’m really glad you liked my game!
I like this concept. It's more educational than just a water cycle. The art is a bit like the scrolling text in Star Wars, which looks epic. The block effects are also very pleasing. It strikes a balance between style and difficulty. I think you could make something more exciting to improve it. I think it's pretty good. (If possible, could you please vote for my game? Thank you)
Thank you so much 😄 This was my very first game ever so your comment means a lot to me! I’m really glad you liked my game (and especially the scrolling text, which I’m proud of)! I will check your game too!
this game so fun to play, recommend it.
If possible, can you please rate my game and leave a comment too?
Thank you! Sure!
Not bad at all (especially for a first game made in 4 days). My main suggestion would be to make the scrolling start slower to really allow the players to warm up, but, other than that, I don't have any major criticisms. Congrats 👍
Thank you so much 😄 This was my very first game so I experimented with the difficulty curve, I wanted to make it easy to start but get harder as time progresses. From the feedback I received so far, it looks like I indeed made the game too difficult 😅 Slower start to allow for players to warm up would be much more smoother for the player experience. Thank you for playing my game and your great feedback!
Amazing game, I read that this is your first game, If so this is literally a great start, the idea and the execution and the tutorial are amazing, Amazing work and Great submission keep it up 🙌✨
Yes, this was my very first game, thank you so much! Your kind words mean a lot to me 😄 I'm really glad you liked the game!
Great job ! and congrats for joining your first game jam! 🙌
I'd like if you can rate my game and tell me if you have any suggestions 👌
Thank you! Of course!
A very entertaining gameplay, I liked it
Thank you! This was my very first game so this means a lot 😄
I read that this was your very first game ever. Just amazing! :O I know how overwhelming everything can be when you just start out so you can be sooo proud of you for not only making a game but also finishing it on such a tight deadline and submitting it to the jam! =D And it looks so cute, too! Really great, keep going! <3
Yes it was my very first game, I'm really happy you liked it 😄 My goal with this jam was to make a sort of working game, I'm glad I was able to complete it! Learned a lot of new things for sure! Thank you for playing my game and your kind words 😄
Nice game and interesting idea! Very good for a first Unity game! Also tutorial is great. The only complaint is that it's hard to see where your cloud is, because of perspective.
Great game, good job!
Thanks a lot 😄 I'm glad you liked the game!
I especially tried to make the tutorial as smooth as possible by introducing story and mechanics one by one, I'm happy I was able to make it work! I agree with you, some sort of indicator to show where the rain would fall would have made the gameplay more intuitive (I received the same feedback from other players too). I guess during the development stage, I got used to where the rain would fall and didn't see the issue. Shows the importance of play testing! If I decide to polish the game more after the jam, I will definitely add the indicator for where rain would fall.
Thank you for playing my game and for your feedback!
Really fun and clever take on the theme with solid core mechanics and charming visuals. The way the game explains itself through the tutorial makes it super easy to get into, and the state-changing gameplay feels really fresh. Some players felt the scrolling speed was a bit too fast and the hitboxes kinda tricky to read, but overall it’s short, sweet and engaging, with room for a bit more variety in longer runs. Great work, specially for a first game
Thank you so much 😄 I'm really glad you liked the game! I tried to make the tutorial as intuitive and understandable as possible by introducing each mechanic and story element one by one, glad I was able to make it work! Thank you for playing my game :)
Pretty interesting game and mechanics honestly. The theme interpretation is also pretty clever. I only got to high score around 500.
On the gameplay side, I thought the game is pretty difficult. The scrolling feels really fast, leaving you with not much time to decide your actions. The hitboxes on the raining is kinda weird, or at least not communicated very well, so I had a difficult time knowing whether or not I was in the correct position to rain.
I also thought it was funny that a water particle can "die" when it fell into a body of water lol.
Thank you!
This was my first game ever so I experimented with the difficulty curve to try to make the beginning easy but the later stages very fast with importance to fast decision making, reaction times etc. However, from the feedback I received it looks like I may have made the curve way too difficult 😅 I hope it didn't ruin the enjoyment for you and at least putting out fires were satisfying :)
I also agree with you, some type of indicator for where the rain would fall would have made the game smoother. I guess during development, I got used to where the rain would fall and didn't see the issue, shows the importance of play testing!
The water particle "dying" after falling into a body of water feels like the meme where the swimmer was washing their face with a bottle of water in a pool, lol :) I interpreted my mechanic as the single water droplet falling into a collection of huge number of water droplets, so it loses its individuality, identitity and consciousness, therefore "dying". Maybe too deep for the game :).
Thank you for playing my game and your great feedback, means a lot!
Really great work on the interactive tutorializing, it really set the tone for the game and made for a very approachable and fun endless-ish runner! This feels very full formed as an exploration of your core mechanics, and as an interpretation of looping, I found it especially novel to cycle through the states of matter as the game's primary system. Awesome stuff!
Thank you so much! This was my very first game so your comment means a lot to me! I especially tried to introduce the game mechanics and the story one by one to provide a smoother introduction, glad I was able to make it work! Thank you for playing my game 😄
VERY impressive work for your first game!
Thank you so much 😄
Very interesting, unique and smart use of the theme. I love the gameplay and also the visuals, gj :D
Thank you so much! Means a lot to me 😄
nice and simple game, with pleasant stylized graphics
the gameplay loop itself is pretty fun for a quick short game but longer games could probably do with some extra obstacles or features for more variety like an ice cube form that can slide around and break stuff.
though that might be just me because i managed to get to a 9.7k score before the level generator completely broke and made default blank platforms where i cant even fall in the water so i just let the scroll speed consume me.
overall, short and sweet!
p.s. among us water drop
Wow! I'm very impressed, even I didn't get 9.7k+, super progress! I will add you as the current highest score to the itch page 😄
You are spot on with the ice recommendation! The 3d design and game mechanic codes for the ice cube actually exists in the game files, but since this was my very first game and first jam, I believe I made some time management issues and didn't have the time to implement mechanics that would make the ice phase cool and enjoyable (like fallen down logs, that only ice could break by sliding etc.), so I decided to remove it for a smoother player experience.
Also yes, the water drop is kind of sus ;)
Thank you for playing my game and your great feedback, means a lot to me!
Extinguishing trees is super satysfying! I love the style and gameplay, it is definetly kind of hard for me though. Guess I just suck xD
Thank you so much, means a lot to me! Don't worry, there is no skill issue :) this was my very first game and from the feedback I have received so far it looks like I made (especially the end game) the difficulty too hard 😅 I also tried to make putting out fires satisfying, I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for playing my game 😄
Enjoyed the game! Tried to get to 3k, but lost at 2.2k, it gets a bit hard at that point.
I'm super impressed! From my play testing, the time between 2.2k to 3k is way shorter than 0 to 2.2k, so you were very close, well done! I'm glad you enjoyed the game! This was my first game ever so I tried to make the game have a sort of difficulty curve but I may have made it too hard from the feedback I have received so far. Thanks for playing my game!
That's impressive for a first game! Generally, I make my game a bit easier than I intend to for game jams, since people will not take the time to play your game for long. And it would be sad if noone got to see the ending.
I hope to see you next GMTK jam and see how much you've improved
Thank you! Great suggestion, will definitely adjust my difficulty curves in the future for a more enjoyable experience. I hope to join next GMTK jam too, hopefully with more knowledge and experience! Learned a lot of new things in this jam for sure!
Really enjoyed it :)
Thank you 😄
