Your feedback is spot on. Increasing the water particle pickup radius would make the interaction feel smoother for the player. Several other players have also suggested indicators for where the rain would fall, I think this coupled with your recommendation of a more clearer signal of when the rain was dropping would make the gameplay feel more intuitive. I was also planning to make it so keybinds could be reassignable (the system code is in the files), but I believe I made some time management issues and didnโ€™t have the time to make its UI, I think this may have solved the key issues by allowing players to select the controls they feel the most comfortable. If I decide to polish the game more after the jam, I will definitely implement your suggestions!

Thank you very much! This was my first game so I tried to make the tutorial as smooth as possible by intorucing story and mechanics one by one, glad I was able to make it work! I completely agree with your feedback, some sort of indicator for the player location and the rain locations could make the gameplay smoother and more intuitive. I guess during development I got used to the patterns and didnโ€™t spot the issue, shows the importance of play testing! Thank you so much again for playing my game ๐Ÿ˜„

Thank you so much ๐Ÿ˜„ This was my very first game so I experimented with the difficulty curve, I wanted to make it easy to start but get harder as time progresses. From the feedback I received so far, it looks like I indeed made the game too difficult ๐Ÿ˜… Slower start to allow for players to warm up would be much more smoother for the player experience. One piece of feedback I could give would be that when I first saw that the fruit loop was able to move and had special effects applied to it based on instruments (like jumping really high), I was really intriguied and found it such a cool mechanic. However, if a player were to get frustrated in the first few moments of the game, they may not see this moment and really understand what makes your game cool. Maybe you could start with an extra easy and short track for the first round to guide the player to your games cool parts, so they can play for longer and have more fun!

I liked your game! I actually wrote this comment before your reply on my games page ๐Ÿ˜„ One piece of feedback I could give could be that when the first level starts, if a player is in the mood to just start with the action they may not read the loop and get surprised by the mechanics, so spacing out the texts just a little bit more could help with the pace in my opinion, Although, I thought the mechanics were intuitive and this wasn't actually an issue. Congrats on the cool game!

One piece of feedback I could give would be that when I first started the game, I was a bit lost and didn't really know what I should/could do, some sort of interactive tutorial could make the transition between starting the game and playing the game smoother. I guess during the development stage, I got used to where the rain would fall and didn't see the issue.
