Very creative yet natural take on the loop
One of the more unique games in the jam, and the presentation is great!

I think it might be good to introduce a timer in the future to increase the challenge, because right now it's pretty easy to just sit through the loop over and over until you get it right (even though it took me some getting used to)

Developer(+1)

thank you for playing and for the feedback!! there is a timer in the endless mode!!!

Submitted(+1)

Ah, good to know! Would love to see that added to the in-game description (unless I missed it lol)

Loved the atmosphere you built! Really calm environment to be cracking codes

that was a very cool idea to get apply the “loop” idea from, congrats

what I mean by that is that I gave this game a 5 in creativity, and I think the only other one that I gave a five was that one about the theater troupe 🎭

A really nice, soothing game. I thought the gameplay was very relaxing, it was nice to punch in the letters and the UI for the notebook, the computer, the radio, and the GPS made it fun to interact with - and it taught me about Morse code, which is a plus! Edit: For the next couple italicized sentences,  I didn't realize the endless mode has a timer, that's my bad.  Left it in for posterity. I might have missed something, but I don't think there's any stakes to the game, like the possibility of messing up on a word and losing the round or getting a lower score. That's not necessarily a bad thing, not every game needs stakes after all, but maybe some sort of scoring system or some tangible reward, completion checklist, or cutscene would have been nice to encourage you to improve at the game (with of course a free play mode to just let you jam out letters at your own pace). I also didn't think the list of Morse code letters in the notebook was really necessary, unless you want a nice little handbook to just learn Morse code from, as typing in the dots and dashes to see the letters on the computer pretty much achieves the same result - maybe having the notebook's Morse code guide play into the gameplay would be a good idea. I really loved the presentation, the 3D models were great, and going back to the UI, it really sold me into the game and made it feel more like I was there! Really fantastic job on this game, this one was a unique concept and an atmospheric, relaxing game loop!

Hey! thank you for playing and for the feedbacks!

For now, the night system is mainly to introduce the mechanics to the player. Then, in the Endless mode, the player is against a timer, recovering a little bit each transmission. If you liked the game and wish for some stakes, that is the mode for you!

Submitted(+1)

Ah thanks! Sorry, I didn't get the time to look at endless mode, so that was premature on my part 😅 I'll edit that out of the review.

Developer(+1)

you can leave it in!! it should be more explicit in the game itself anyways!!

A super enjoyable game. One of my favorites from the jam. There's something soothing when you're able to type in the code while you're listening to it. :D

It was a bit complex for me to understand the controls in the sense that the computer takes beeps and IMMEDIATELY transcribes them to letters. For the first few minutes, I didn't know what was happening on the computer screen. Apart from that, it also took me some time to find out you could delete the given input by pressing backspace. But, this is a game jam - the onboarding won't be perfect.

Great job with this one! :)

Developer(+1)

thank you for the feedback! we did our best to explain the mechanics in the slides before the first night, but i guess the mechanics are hard enought that we'll need a proper tutorial!!

Submitted(+1)

Probably one of my favourites so far! I love the take on the theme with morse code (strikes very close to home for me ngl).

Took me a bit to figure out at first, but everything clicked really well for me! can't give much more feedback on it in my opinion :)

Developer

Hey!! Thank you for playing and for your kind words!!!

Eu realmente amei a maneira como vocês usaram o tema e entregaram uma experiência, que embora pareça simples, é muito envolvente e satisfatória! Parabéns!

Developer(+1)

Valeu demais!!!

Submitted(+1)

This is awesome! Congrats on the game, it's really fun!

In the tutorial I was panicking trying to do everything first try, until I waited and received the loop lol, but it was really fun playing with morse code. Really creative!

Developer(+1)

Thank youu! Yess, you can just let the message loop and try again with no problems (at least outside the endless mode 👀)

Submitted(+1)

Really creative take on the theme! It was a bit tricky for me at first (probably a skill issue on my end), but after a few tries the gameplay started to feel really smooth and engaging. The artwork and overall atmosphere were great!! Loved it<3

Developer

Thank you!!  It was tricky for us too!!! <3

Submitted(+1)

either I'm bad or I have a bug because I have the impression that there is no long sound to make a bar in the messages.
It's a shame for both case because the game looks great !

Developer

thank you for playing!!

it is possible you just got a word that has a bunch of dots in a row?

FISH comes to mind as a word that has like 7 dots in a row, but if you never got a dot at any point in the game AT ALL, then that's definitely something we have to take a look into

Submitted (1 edit)

No, I was stuck at the calibration stage. I think I'm really bad. But I need to try another search engine, because mine sometimes causes bugs on web games.

(edit : I try on google chrome and it works ! Idon't know why but the game didn't work on Opera GX)

Niiice! As a licensed ham radio operator I can just say: big fan of the theme and the game! :D My morse was bit rusty, but thankfully the game had enough help with that. I really like the progression of how the elements are introduced in the game - getting used to them one by one. Great game!

Developer

That's so cool!!! I'm glad you liked! Thank you for playingg

Submitted(+1)

Definitely on theme and definitely unique! Holy wow this feels pretty complete, and the atmosphere is awesome.

I never thought about morse code this way, but I guess it really has to do with loops huh. I agree with others that this could be expanded into a killer Firewatch like game. Arrasaram ;)

Developer(+1)

Obrigado!!

We may need to write a short story to implement now 🫡🫡🫡

Loved this a lot great game!

Developer

Thankss!

Cool idea! I loved how the players are able to gain knowledge and identify which action is necessary as the play progresses. The visuals were pretty nice. The sound design was really well done imo. The different actions to do varied the gameplay so it isn't repetitive. As for narrative, there isn't much in the game right now, but i can see how a great story can be implemented to this. My endless mode highscore:

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! 9 on endless is pretty high, congrats!!!

Developer(+1)

more than I could ever get, congrats and thanks for playing!!

Awesome game! Really loved the UI and the small details (e.g. the lighthouse at the back). There were a couple of things that I noticed. In the frequencies, it is hard to distinguish the "1" from the "7". Though you it's a mistake you only make once, it would be nice to disambiguate them. Also, it would be really cool if there was a WPM slider, which let you configure how long you need to hold to send a dash. I found that it was a bit longer then I would have expected, and it would also let people go a lot faster if they got more experience.

Finally, this would be an awesome tool to help people train in morse code, if it were further developed!

Developer

Thank you for playing and for the feedback!
We did make a card to change the font (to better distinguish 1 and 7), but ended up forgetting it ://

This is such a neat ideia! I love that this is one of those games that the player can take shortcuts as they start being more knowledgeable (ie. getting a K-I can only mean KING for the possible words, so you don't really need to hear the entire codes).

Would love to see how new mechanics could affect the gameplay and a proper narrative give more weight to your responses!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!!! Yess, we'd love to implement more narrative stuff and branching paths with more time

Submitted(+2)

Wow this is so underrated. Played through the whole thing. I love how the vibe is very eery and I could easily see a spooky story about someone lost at see unfold through the morse messages. (in firewatch manner but more cryptic) I recently saw a video of "professional" morse code users and it's incredibly fast, but throughout the game I felt Im getting faster and faster. Could really work to increase the speed and  length as players get really good at it. (+I also learned some morse code after enough playtime) Amazing work!

Developer

Thank you so much!! We had some professional morse coders say that the high speed actuallly makes it easier? but to us the slowed down of the game helped new players XD
for sure some harder levels and lore undertone could fit very well

Submitted(+1)

Haha sounds like everyone has there own rhythm that one wants to follow there. Btw. the slow introduction of the different tools on the table was also very well paced to introduce all the mechanics, but I only got to use one of the tools in the final night. (guess it was just rng) That is something that could be even more expanded as well, like at some point you could even get away from the table and look around in you hut to find more tools / objects to interact with (Maybe have a pin wall where you puzzle it all together like in Alan Wake 2 or in Shadow of Doubt)

Submitted(+2)

Probably the most creative game I've tried, this could be very cool in a full version, where you could potentially alter the plot by purposefully giving false information or something. I think not being able to confirm may add to tension though.

Developer

Thank you so much!! Yess, we'd love to expand it with some decision making, maybe some resources that you have to manage, pirates you may let go for a price etc...

Submitted(+2)

THIS IS SO COOL I LOVE IT!! honeestly i think its more fun without the decoder but i love listening and putting in things id love to seee this expanded.

Developer

Thank you for playing!!! it was very fun to watch you play in the souls-mode!!

Now I finally have a tool to learn Morse code in a fun way

The game is pretty -. / .. / -.-. / .! I made 1 mistake, made the poor authorities search for the non-existent pirates :D

Developer(+2)

thank you for playing and for fooling the authorities!
