it's difficult mainly because this was one of my first games. I wasn't really good at designing puzzles, so it's not your fault! a hint for this level: try PRESSING the lever :)

wordsword is an arcade puzzle game about transforming words!
transform five-letter words, gain scores, light up the cutey Flames and fight off pesky Oomas.
- who are Oomas?
- you will see soon enou_h. oh, there they are. these weird critters that steal _eys from your _eyboard!

- what if I don't ha_e letters to make a _ord?
- we__... *gets pulled upwards by some sort of a string*
- Oomama is here, my darling! I know dealing with my offspring is quite a difficult task. So that's why I opened up my little shop! You can buy back your letters for a price of your... Heart! That's a one-of-a-kind sweet deal, so don't waste away!
*gets pulled back*
thank you, Oomother. there are also unlockable cards that give you various bonuses! like a bonus when you use a rare letter like 'x' or 'z'. or when you use Pells's special Spell. haha see what I did here? *gets pulled by a string again, now very very slowly* OKAY OKAY that's enough for now!

That's really groovy! A very original concept with a smooth and polished execution! I can clearly see this game as one of the potential winners - heck, I'd even buy this game on Steam as it is now!
I just have a thought: is the character supposed to represent a 'ghost note'? Or am I just overthinking it :D
A very relaxing game. The art and sounds are so beautiful. Maybe even too beautiful - I found myself losing on purpose just to see that transition once again! :D
Love the fact that the player themself decides whether they want the experience to be challenging or relaxing! Feels like finding an oasis among the other games with fixed difficulty.
Poor fella. A nice portrayal of the addiction cycle and a really good interpretation of the theme. I think I know what this was inspired by, but it doesn't make the game any worse. Good job for your first project!
UPD: tried to warn the character but my choices didn't matter. HOW DO I SAVE THEM?? :ccc
ah, to be a lonely young duck waiting for its mate at the table... (it got caught by foxes :( )
A very silly and cute game! Loved the puns in the tutorial. The controls took some time to get used to: some things, like selecting items or throwing them, could be done using just the mouse.
The concept of using your unborn offspring to scare off foxes and buy wine and bread is a bit dark though :D
A great idea for a puzzle game. The platforming could have been improved upon, though. :(
Found it a bit weird that you control the mage with arrow keys only and the ghost is bound to only WASD, yet you can't control them both at the same time. That would make a fun two-player experience like 'Fireboy and Watergirl' or something for Switch.
This game is pretty addicting! Haven't managed to defeat the boss, ended with the score of 118900. My only advise is that it would be nice to have some indication of how much time is left until the next weapon and next upgrade.
The gameplay loop is very promising and could easily be expanded, I'd love to play the full game if you decide to continue working on it.
Very clever idea to base the game on the concept of Möbius strip. Now I understand why there are sometimes two identical stores on the same street, just a short distance apart - there are aliens that don't like backtracking :P
Had to torture some aliens that were looking for the casino that wasn't built yet :D
The game is pretty addicting and has some potential for the full release. For the balancing, it would be fun if some places had to be kept at a certain distance from each other, like the club and the hotel.
A very inspired platformer! Loved the portrayal of the artist's struggles and can relate to them. The movement is really good and the level design is pretty forgiving. The music and the graphics are very funky and eye- and ear-catching accordingly!
Had a funny bug where I would spawn outside the level bounds and could do nothing but watch myself inevitably falling down through the entire level :D
Initially, I wanted to add graphics that indicated where would the character be if the undo functionality worked properly, so it would be easier to follow. But it caused some issues, so I decided to scrap it and introduce it a bit later. The keyboard issue is weird, I use QWERTY myself and it seems to work just fine for me. Y is supposed to be the 'Redo' button.
There's gotta be a Buddhist metaphore hidden somewhere in here :D
As a fellow developer of a game featuring timeloop shenanigans, I enjoyed the puzzle design. The physics are a bit wonky, though. The character floats upon contacting any edges and lands really slowly. The music is not really great, I had to turn the volume down. I get it, the theme is 'loop', just wished the loop was a bit longer. :D
But despite that, I have managed to complete the game! It was actually fun.
A really good fusion of warioware and rhythm games. The melodies are catchy and groovy, just HOW MANY LOOPS ARE PACKED INTO THIS THING???? :D The modifiers are pretty creative as well! The timing is forgiving, maybe even a bit too much. Haven't tried harder modes yet.
My score is 8527, ended on stage 5. Enjoyed the game a lot!
A cool twist on the theme! Someone has already mentioned it, but reminds me of Crypt of the Necrodancer a bit :D
My only issue with the game is that the layout is not very comfortable. You have to constantly switch your attention between two separate screens, which gets overwhelming very quickly. If you decide to continue working on the game after the jam, I'd recommend switching to a vertical layout for the notes.
A good game overall, I liked the premise!
A very fun and polished game! Dialogues are fun and full of character, as a certified flavor text enjoyer I approve. Loved the art and the twist on the jam theme. Collectible arts are very pleasant to look at!
Collectible #4 (the one with the git branches) made me cackle like a little evil witch :D
It's probably a skill issue, but the last level is far more difficult than all the others. I'd probably die on the hard mode :D
Ah yes, Jovial Merryment lore
Jokes aside, I really loved this game. The idea is brilliant and the execution is very fun! The game is very polished and has a surprising amount of strategic depth to it. My only complaint is that holding the dash is a bit overpowered, you could literally use your horse as a wall. I think holding it for a long time should also raise the suspision level: why would the horse suddently stop? :D
Also it would be funny if the game had some kind of a secret achievement for completing the levels with minimal user interventions. It would take a lot of patience, though...
P.S. Encountered a little bug: the game freezes if you click 'Next' on the last level. Not very critical, but still decided to mention it.

Behold: PromoDuck and his Quacky Vision! He has a special attack: he appears darker on all videos because I didn't use a web-safe palette! You can SLAY him or play by his rules, in classic UNRELATED style. * It'll cost ya only ONE PENCIL!
* It's a blatant rip-off of NUTDEALER
Go do whatever you want with him NOW: https://kr0tyara.itch.io/one-pencil
