I really really like this game. Easy to understand and generally fun concept.
If make small suggestion:
1. It's too easy to misplaced railway and block yourself from progressing in some directions. I think option of deleting tracks (or deleting of not looping tracks) can improve feel. (Or it's can be part of the challenge idk)
2. Logic gate or alternated railway switches, for automatization of path managing

Developer

Thank you!

1. Agreed, it was a restriction I set myself to only have max 3 connections to keep the logic and tracks simple. Set that as a challenge, but not sure it was fun challenge after feedback.
2. I was thinking in having the tracks that is active to light up, so its easy so see your loop. Gonna play around with different switches in the future.

Really enjoyed the cozy vibes, apart from when dominators came and I was a bit scared for my progress. Would've completed the map if there had been an undo option, but I understand the risk management part.
On a side note, I also see now the first resource was wood. I think the emojis are not the same for me.

Developer(+1)

I was a bit undecided on the undo function. Decided that it wasn't necessary to show the concept. But then I worked on those dominators that really didn't add much to the game either. But learned a lot and crazy how talented people are .

The emojis was a temporary graphic that turned out to be permanent.

Thank you for playing my game!

Very cute little game, I feel like the audio was a bit more fitted to that of a who dunnit rather than a chill resource builder but hey it has a designed 'toot' button so how could I not give it 5 stars for sound design? Good stuff.

Developer

Thank you! I should have focused more on the audio and graphics in hindsight. My first jam and forgot about everything except the code, mechanics and logic

Nah, I think you had the exact right approach. Gameplay is king and audio and graphics are just polish. The game that excel in that usually have a team member focused on just those things so you're unlikely to be able to compete and come out strong against those. I think this was honestly great fun and for your first jam it's brilliant. Well done!

I think this is a cool idea.

Developer

Thank you! Ill definitely build upon the idea and see if it could be something good.

Liked the game overall. Not very intuitive at first that you need to time the whistle - some visual feedback would be nice. Didn't fully understand why I was not able to build in some places. Great fit for the theme!

Thanks for playing and feedback! In hindsight I should have focused more on the building aspect and made that crisp. I got to hung up in enemy movement and how they effected the playing field. I'll defenitely try to make a bigger game out of it.

I really liked this idea, made for a really calming, relaxing game. Only problem I had is I couldn't really find a rhyme or reason to why I couldn't place a track in certain locations. But beyond that, it was fun and rewarding, well done.

Developer

Most people had that issue. In hindsight i should have had more player testing early and made it only a building game without the enemies.

Thank you for playing my game!

Nice and cozy game! The way you create bigger and bigger loops to explore fits the theme perfectly.

As others have mentioned, it's not always intuitive to see where tracks can be placed. But I still managed to play and really enjoyed the experience — there's definitely some solid potential here! :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. Will definitely take a step back and improve the building aspect of the game before I build on the features. I think I have a good concept on where it can go.

Really interesting idea. It could be a full game for sure. At first I was quite confused as why there was hexes that don't let you build road on them until I realize you can only start a track that's on a "corner" connection. I think it also suffers from lack of proper communication of the game elements since I was not sure at first glance what tile was allowed to be built in and what tiles are not. I could see this to be a pretty relaxing experience.

Developer

Tanks for playing and feedback. I have some ideas coming up after i finished the jam. I tried to do to much, and should have focused more on building and player feedback, that was the concept and not the enemies that took up almost a full day of coding and testing.

Enjoyed this. Reminded me of the various micro management road/track games but with a unique twist of just having the one unstoppable train!

Developer

Thanks for playing and the good words! Had a big inspiration from the Snowpiercer movie/series. Will definitely build upon the idea during the year and hopefully release a more fully rounded experience.

I really enjoyed playing, it is very calm and relaxing. At first it was a little difficult to understand what am I actually meant to do in the game, I feel like you could add like a tutorial section. It became very enjoyable once I understood the rules and the goal :))

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback. I agree that I need to give more feedback to the user for building, what you can and cant do and actually the goal of the game.

Very nice strategy game that was relaxing until I got invaded by aliens! It was very fun and I tried my best to uncover the entire map. Great game

Developer

Thank you for playing and the nice feedback.

Really liked the game. Found it very chill and relaxing. Would definitively be interested in a full version. Great work.

Developer

Thank you! I'll keep working on it as a hobby this year and see where it goes.

Nice concept!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words. Glad you liked it.

This was a great game! I really enjoyed it, and I think that the idea is very creative and fun. It did take me a couple moments to work out where I could place tracks, and I think the actual objective of the game is a bit unclear, but they are my only critiques. Very well done!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked it. I'll take that feedback to heart and improve the game for my next realease.

I struggled to understand the game's objective. Also the thing about keeping "scouts" away from your resources I didn't get, I couldn't see any invaders or anything I could interpret as scouts? I think much of the issue just stemmed from unclear indicators. I could definitely see this expanding into a more fleshed out world-sim type game given more development time!

Developer

Thanks for the comment and feedback. Will defenetly build upon the features and update the game at a later stage, with more feedback from enemy interactions. Was thinking of adding more ways to keep the enemy ships at bay and repairing tracks from damage. But focused more on build and resource management/spawning at the end, when that is the core of the idea.
