I like the idea !! And the art was really cute !
The keys for the new features were a little bit awkward for me to get to. In my case, I would have an easier time if it was shift instead of Z, but the game was still fun !!
Good work :D
The intended controls are either WASD, J, K, L, or arrow keys and Z, X, and C. WASD and Z is really awkward, if that's the issue. You might have made it way harder on yourself!
Hahaha I think I did
Well done. I would of loved to see original sprites but this was extremely fun to play. Well done.
??? All of the art is drawn my me in Aseprite.
Then I mean design-wise. You have a huge Kirby influence for the game, like Fighter Kirby as your main character. The block design is similar to old Kirby games, which is fine; I also don't recognize them.
At the same time, Cannon looks like Kirby cannon except for colors. The runner tutorial guy could fit in the Kirby verse, but I don't recognize them. I don't hate anything in this game, I mind you. I'm just saying it looks a lot like Kirby assets.
Which means well done on capturing it if they are not.
I didn't realize Kirby had the cannons. I remember seeing them from a game called Panic Porcupine.
the controls are spot on really great job, the visuals are also pretty neat, did you do those yourself? Congrats my man
Would love to hear your opinion on my game as well if you have the time :)
Thanks! And yep, all the art is by me :)
Great game! The movement feels really good.
great game. reminds me of the classics
Great game! The movement is smooth and the mechanics are very fun and interesting. Would love to see more of this.
Wow, what a great platformer game. The game felt so smooth. From what I've played, its clear that you understand how to make a platformer feel good. Also mascot is so cute, kind of like kirby and snake combined haha. Great work!
Is that a recoloured kirby sprite? I like the idea of a new mechanic every level. Each one could have been its own game, really.
It's not recoloured, I made it from scratch but the art style is inspired by Kirby squeak squad.
this game feels reeeally good to play and is very polished, the movement felt like a professional game, very good job!
The movement is soooo fluid. And there's so much mechanics you've made in such a short time! Hoping for more complex levels that combines the mechanics we learnes before. But It's a well made platformer overall!
Ooooh I really liked this, maybe tweak the camera little bit tho so the player know's what to expect
Oh and I would love to hear what you think of my game as well if you have the chance
This is very well made for a first jam game! well done! <3 Love all the mechanics! <3
Very good!
That's a nice game, I think you should make the camera follow the player because certain parts of the levels feel unfairly harder because you can't see the other part of the level until you get there.
For example, in the level with the grappling hook I assumed you need to fall into the pit but I fell to the spikes and died because I couldn't to see them.
I also think you shouldn't allow every button to be used to skip dialogue but rather one button that you would specify in game.
Great game overall, good job!
I fell into the soft lock you warned about :( But I like the game. A lot of fun! I thought the canons were a fun game mechanic!
I really liked the movement—jumping feels great and responsive, not floaty at all.
That said, the wall jump felt a bit too punishing. It’s hard to control, and I felt like I had almost zero influence over my trajectory once I committed.
Also, in the level where the wall jump is introduced, the spike hitbox at the very top felt a little too unforgiving.
Overall though, the movement feels solid—I’m looking forward to seeing how it evolves!
The wall mechanics didn't feel very good, the rest of them did. The last level guy doesn't seem to be interactible until he stops, you can catch and go right through him easily
Just a very good game ! Loved playing it
Nice game. But I don't know why the letters on my keyboard don't work. Because of that I can't pass the level where I have to press j or z
Try clicking into the game window a few times? I'm not sure.
arrows and spacebar work, A and D don't, and so do the others
You are not in the game. You have to click into the game window so that your computer recognizes you're trying to play. It's in the description.
I read the description, I even played full screen and without it, and clicked many times both in and out of the game to "enter" the game again, but it didn't help
Try clicking on the player
Thanks, that helped fix it. I'll try playing further.
I love it! I had some troubles in some parts, but I really liked all the mechanics and all the art!
