1. Just a little thing, but I'm not sure what effects fame has, I think it was probably explained at some point in the emails we get, but I can't remember, could we get a popup that explains what our fame level is doing right now, like the scandal points one, when we mouse over it?

2. Talking about fame, some of the requirements for improving the daily performance/promotion activities can be a bit obtuse, how about just linking them to fame level?

3. And also, some of the demands from Fujimoto/idols can be quite odd considering their fame levels. Debut idols want to host a show for example, maybe these demands could be linked to your/the idol's fame level too? Eg. At level 1 fame Fujimoto just wants you to produce a single to approve another, at level 10 he might want you to release 3 anxiety cute dance enka singles. A level 1 idol might just want to be in a single, a level 10 idol might want to get 10 cool photoshoots.

4. Could we get the option to have teams? So when we're looking at the theatre schedules we could arrange for teams of idols to cycle the members performing on a given day, without the option that genuine sister groups have to release singles. The same could apply with making, say, an internet show with those members. Just a shortcut compared to assigning a bunch of idols manually.

5. I'd like it if the producer character had some basic competency with all skills. When you start the game, unless you want to try and go for weird strategies with making money through deals for months before actually starting work on a single you need to commit money for a dance studio and music studio and their staff up front. In reality a lot of start-up idol groups are run out of their producer's car and whatever rented practice spaces they can grab. I thought about the possibility of outsourcing options for songwriting, but I feel like this is better because it's easier to do within the existing framework of the game (if you drag a single to the producer's office you get lyrics/choreo/music/production options, if you drag a concert you get production/practice/deals, if you drag an idol you get vocal training/dance training/talk etc). This could be balanced by receiving less capital at the game start, but with very low running costs until you start to expand, so that you face choices about what element of your operation to improve first, including adding a lyricist staff option. I also think this opens up options to customise your producer a little, with the option to choose their area of expertise and skill points to spend when they level up, so you can have some producers who are straight lyricists like Aki-P, some who are songwriters like Nakata Yasutaka and some who are both like Tsunku. I feel like the producer should be the heart of your operation, busy 24/7, but quite often they're just researching

6. If the multi-ability producer idea is taken up, I think a staff pool would be a good idea, too.  At the moment we have our pick of staff, but if their skills and wages were more randomised it could play into what areas we want to improve. If you can come across a good choreographer you might want to build the dance room before the music room for example. Sometimes you might have to pay more than you want for stylists if the ideal staffer isn't available etc

7. Tying into this, I think it would be a good idea to replace the current wage increase system with a wage review every 6 or 12 months. It seems a bit odd that idol wages set to 50% satisfaction at the beginning of the game can increase from 15,000 yen a week to about 150,000-210,000 yen a week for three idols as soon as they get their first fame star. Likewise, staff could come and ask for a raise slightly above what they'd get just from skill increases, so you need to decide if you want to keep on skilled staffers who are asking for too much or just let them go at the end of their contracts, when you might not be able to replace their skills.

8. As a note on this, I'm not sure what salary satisfaction does, maybe add a tooltip by mousing over idols salary satisfaction in the wages screen to tell you what it does? I think it affects graduation dates, but I'm really not sure

9. At the moment the game drains physical stamina for nearly everything, with mental stamina as a kind of backup battery after physical stamina is drained, with the chance of injury. I think it would make more sense if different activities drained different stamina types and going below a certain level raised the risk of injury/depression/leaving the group. For example, releasing a single costs 30 physical stamina, which doesn't make sense to me, what would make sense is if that was a mental stamina cost; idols would be mentally stressed from a digital single being released, but they wouldn't be doing any physical work. Some activities, like photoshoots would involve some tiring physical activity, but be more mentally taxing than anything else. Some work, like concerts, should be tiring AND mentally stressful. Keeping idols physical AND emotional stress levels under control should be a big deal, players should be scared of a scandal pushing an idol over the edge when her mental stamina would be under control based on your plans.

10. Talking about stamina, I think deals need a big re-balancing overall. They can be really useful early in the game, but after a certain point they just become redundant. Why would any player want to spend 40-50 physical stamina (deals going way over the assumed stamina levels is common) for about 250,000 yen when the performance daily activity can give them about 200,000 yen for just 3 stamina? I know they can be levelled up, but then you need a staff member on research, their usefulness just ends as soon as you start to break even because of the enormous stamina costs involved.

11. One of the biggest complaints I see is that 1st Gen members start to become irrelevant as soon as you start getting new members in because the skill gap is so big. To counter this, and to make things more realistic too, I'd like to see the theatre's example of learning by doing applied to more activities. I'm not sure how granular skill gains are, but if, for example, you got 2% of a skill gain for the promotion activity for funny/smart and ran it 200 times a year, then you'd get a gain of 4 skill points for each category, not game breaking, but an acknowledgement of the work being put in. The same goes for activities like the weekly radio/internet/TV shows, it seems strange that idols would do those things again and again and never improve. I think this could also tie into making deals more useful too, because the work done there would be public and involve a lot of work from the idol.

12. Again, on the theme of making 1st Gens more realistically competitive against newer gens I think it would help to shake up auditions. Firstly, instead of the levels determining how many silver/gold/platinum idols you get, let them determine how many idols you get to choose from. Also, when it comes to silver/gold/platinum idols, I can see people have thought of a bunch of different measures to make sure they don't make your original idols redundant, the one I'd suggest is that while they should debut with better skills, maybe a platinum would have a few skills in the 50s or 60s, the main emphasis should be on those idols improving faster than regular idols. So a debut platinum idol should be about as good as a regular idol with years of experience, but she should improve much faster in the next year she spends in the group than the experienced idol, making her far superior as time goes on.

13. Also on the subject of auditions I'd like to see idols who are much stronger either visually or skills wise, like an idol who has all 40s visually and all 10s for her skills, doesn't happen very often at present but I feel like the visual/skill split is the biggest difference in debut idols in the real world. I'd also like to see more difference from the group policies (ie. better cool ratings if you emphasise cool, better dance/vocals if you emphasise quality and polish, better smart/funny if you emphasise energy and enthusiasm) and a tighter grouping of age ranges in potential idols with fewer idols under about 14 and over 18.

14. One odd thing that's struck me is that physical and digital CDs seem to have the same price, when in reality a real world idol single could easily set you back well over 1000 yen, especially with extras. I think it would make sense to make the cost of each physical CD much higher to match reality, but increase the cooldown for them from 1 to 3 months. This would make it worth it to produce digital singles early on to boost your fanbase, but as you start to break even you'd switch to physical CDs for the higher income, and would also make the release schedule more plausible. I also think that things like handshake tickets should improve both CD price and hardcore sales (has anyone ever paid for an AKB CD with an individual handshake ticket? Those things are EXPENSIVE). Or, if a choice has to be made for balance reasons, I think it would work better if they just improved CD price.

15. There are a few things I'd like to see come back; buzz and variable single quality. I know that buzz has been a bit divisive, and potentially hard to balance, but it seems odd that you can't get word of mouth fans/fans through sheer market penetration at all. I also liked the fact that songs used to be up and down in quality, all idol fans know their groups have dropped a few clunkers, and I'd like to see problems thrown up by bad songs (maybe lose instead of gain fans? Especially if buzz comes back)

16. I'd like there to be a chance to gain fans from concerts, I've been encouraged to check out various groups in real life because a friend said they put on a great show

17. I'd like to be able to name concerts too, it's not a big thing but "[Group name] Midsummer Concert" sounds better than "Concert (Music Hall)"

18. I'd like to see national, as well as world, tours

19. People have talked about reprints and ongoing sales. I think it should be possible to reprint a single after its release if you sold them out, basically the game would look at how many more singles you printed, compare it to how many "in theory" sales you would have made if there wasn't a limit set by the number you printed and then deduct the number you already sold. I think you should only be able to do this once, so there's still an element of risk. I'd also say that ongoing sales could be handled every time you gain new fans; if 35% of fans brought a copy of your single originally and you get 200 new fans then you'd get 70 sales of that single.

20. I'd quite like to have albums, on a year long cooldown. You could add all the songs you released as singles that year, then a number of specific album tracks to make up, say 10 tracks on the album. You can write songs a lot quicker than one per month, so this would make up the downtime that songwriting staff have.

21. I'd quite like to change the quality of singles from an aggregate of the idols' skills to an average, to make smaller Perfume-style groups more viable. I think that while small groups have their advantages, there are also drawbacks (losing a member wrecks your fanbase, chain graduations hit hard, individual handshake events aren't viable etc) so they shouldn't be penalised.

22. Just a small thing, but I'd like to see some idols ask to go on hiatus at the age and time of year when they'd be studying for exams

23. Another small thing, but I'd like idols' physical and mental stamina to be visible under their portraits in compact view, it'd make it way easier to do things on the fly

PS. I know this is a lot of things, but I don't want it to come across as critical of the game, if I hadn't enjoyed it so much, I wouldn't have played it enough to come up with all these thoughts while playing

(+3)

I'd also like to be able to name concerts, and sort of in that vein, maybe have a special pop-up like the post-Election single so that when you have an idol announced to graduate within the next 3 months, you can designate a concert/single as her graduation concert and last appearance with the group for a little boost.

(+1)

Oh yeah, grad singles would be nice, I always feel like I want to do a little extra for the idols who've stuck with the group for a long time

(1 edit)

I'm not sure if it's been suggested, but I think it might also be cool that if your relationship is high enough with an idol, and their rep or skill is high enough, you could instead manage their solo career since you've had such a great rapport with them. Perhaps they can even recommend other talent to work with your group if they enjoyed working with you enough.

I feel like we won't get totally separate groups before the release of the game, which is a shame, because I think that running an agency rather than a group makes more sense for the game's concept, and managing some solo idols would fit in really well with that. So I don't think we'll get it, but it'd be great.

(+2)

An idea I had while testing out portrait modding: a button to clear the portrait cache within the settings menu. This could be helpful for those with less knowledge of where the cache is saved in the file system and save time for modders trying to test iterations of a mod. However, as I don't know how the cache is saved, I'm not sure if that would be easy or difficult to include.

(+2)

Maybe it's just me being sensitive, but I swear some of the sounds in the game are too loud and hurt my ears every time they play. The descending sound that plays when you lose influence level always sounds super loud to me, and to lesser extent, the crowd's cheering during concerts.

You can lower the volume of sounds (different type of sound !) in the setting o/

(-13)

I want  idol's Bust/waist/hip measurements or bra size as flavor.

(+7)

Maybe the idols' salary satisfaction could take into account the agency's age and/or average weekly income? I'm in November of my first year and it seems kind of unreasonable that my idols need a 60k weekly salary just to stay at a satisfaction level of 50%, especially considering I only made 130k on my last single.

Hi, so I love this game I bought it and something that SHOCKED me was that there is no rapping skill!  If you see kpop, rapping is quite a common part of it.   I believe in order for this to be more realistic you need to add rapping as another aspect to the game.

ALSO! There should definitely be the option for male groups as well

And the ability to have more people per group.

(+4)

This game is based on the jpop idol industry, not kpop. I don't see rapping often in jpop.

(+1)(-2)

I think it would be fund to have rapping score, which will be counted by a designated member's Fun and Intelligent Stats, Singing skill does not apply. . Rapping in K pop is the same thing as  voice narrations of J pop.

There could be something called "Killing Point". which is during the stage, when centered member is doing signature verses of the song,  it is so good, the casual fans notice this parts. Killing Points could be one phrase of a song , dance movements, member's appearance skill+dance skill, or something else.

(-1)

wow 5 people voted it down XD thats kinda discouraging people really dont want rapping or male groups...

1. Quite often the number of fans you have can change in a month, making it very hard to guess how many CDs you want, could we get an option to choose how many to print at the end of the production cycle instead of the start?

2. In real life idols' image can massively alter if they want an image change, maybe we could have a mechanic where we can invest a lot of time with the stylist to give idols a big image change with a bigger than usual change in phyiscal stats but limit it to once a year with the opportunity for it to go wrong?

3. I'd quite like it if new members could have their own oshimen if your group is famous enough. I don't even think it needs a mechanic tied in, it would just be a nice detail.

4. Also might be a nice touch if you can pick a place for your group to start in, with each member having a hometown. Would give a nice feeling of expansion as you switch to bigger auditions and see idols coming from further away

Really like these, especially #4 and the idea of new idols having a favorite member of your group!

(+3)

First of all, let me tell you how much I love the game, I have spend hundred hours on it already it's incredible.

- A new staff member "secretary" to help you create lyrics and so on, because you are the only staff member impossible to duplicate, so when you have a USINE you are the one slowing down everything.
- I don't know if it's a bug, or something in implementation, but my theater appears as 0/w in my recap (when you hover your total money), I really would like it to be in account into the week revenu even if it's a day to day /month revenue because it helps to have a global vision.

- Unlock with research point (like a lot), the possibility to try to guess the next trend before the month start. (For now I don't think we have something to predict buzz ?)

- An auto mode to create single (like with the secretary maybe ? : you say what you want and they automatically create new things per week you then have to assign)

And that's all for now, because it's super good !

(+4)

An idea that I think has been mentioned before: I'd like to be able to create a single without moving to a second floor of rooms. My idea for this is to have any single dragged onto the player when there are no placed staffers get a 1 value for the missing elements. (Example: If you don't have a choreographer, then the player does that task at level 1.) A potential related side feature would be to allow dragging a single with finished elements back onto a staffer with better stats to replace the stat on the single. (As things are, you can simulate this by deleting the single and starting over.) The first part would help the early game move faster (or at least have more variety than constant photoshoots), while the second part can add to the complexity of strategies.

From a modding standpoint, I'd also be interested in having some of the traits of staffers be moddable. For instance, being able to change the gender of staffers or give them a different pair of skills. The player's influence skill probably has to remain hard-coded, but maybe the others can be mixed a bit. (It would also help with the composer, who is currently hard-coded to be male. Makes idols that become composers seem a bit odd, unless they are meant to be implied as crossdressers or transgender.)

(1 edit) (+7)

Hi. Just starting by saying i love the game, i'm playing it non stop since i bought it. But here some things i will like. Those as more as my fellings towards the game to be more friendly than ideas, hopping it will go this way.
1. Finance. This is my nemesis. I find it really hard to win money and to not go bankrupt. The only "long" try i had was when i cheated to had some cash at the begining. (If you have any tips feel free to help me. :P )
2. Groups. I don't like to be forced to have 10 idols to strat a new one. I love to have the opportunity to launch another group quicker with less Idols. And also the choice to completly separate to groups and not having a A and B line up.
3. Singles. I love to not have the selling of the singles be direct, but spaced in time. (Game Dev Tycoon like)
4.  Writer. Maybe adding a knew staff member to help the player to write songs ?
5. Player. Maybe the player can do everything the other staff member are doing when you are lacking in a staff member.
6. Start. Maybe starting with a random song style and choregraphie so you can start winning money quickely ?
7. Album. Puting single together to make an album and getting sales from old things ?
Hope this give you ideas and help you. Have a nice day. :D

Edit : Wanted to had something. I realised what doomed my finances, and it's trying to keep the idols happy with their salary. The only way a can manage to win money in short terme, is to keep they salary low, but the all be unhappy. Impossible for them to be happy and have money. :/

(1 edit) (+2)

All good ideas; about the money situation I'll tell you what worked for me. The key is to keep everything barebones until you hit the fifth single; only use 2-star staff, only use the digital single, take contracts where you can, but remember that the yield from using a break room in conjunction with the daily performance activities is actually probably higher. Use your first loan to get the break room, it really lets you do a lot in the early game without worrying about your idols stamina tanking, it'll pay off many times over compared to other expenses like hiring more staff. You can always take loans, in fact you'll probably have to, but you shouldn't need to take out more than about ten million before you reach the point where you make more than you lose each month. You can save some money by using the same girl as a perma-centre early on, idols that have less than 1 star fame will only ever ask for a negligible wage, so they'll be virtually free for a few singles. Your big money earner early on will be the concert, when you can get that things will start to change, just make sure you keep using the promotion activities to have enough fans to fill out the concert hall. And don't forget to jack up the price too, the game will tell you how much of the hall you can fill, so keep jacking it up until the projected income starts to fall. Also don't forget that you can make a few million by touring Korea in the early game, this is really good money, so use it when you're in a pinch because overseas tours are on a timer and you only get 2 a year.

Edit: By the way, using the choreographer and vocal trainer as your first hires is much better if you only hire 2-star staff imo, through the course of the game they'll pick up enough experience to remain useful training your new members, the 2-star production staff won't be any use when you get bigger

Hey guys I just recently bought the game! It's being great so far but I want to give some ideas and suggestions.

1) BOY BANDS. In the entertaiment world there's GIRL BANDS and BOY BANDS.

2) I don't like to recruit 20 idols to have 3 groups, I really want small groups. One of them I called 3E-Girls but I have to keep it with 7 girls in it before I start a new group, that's a little annoying.

3) Boy bands, please, just imagine, the female public playing this game, recruit some handsome and cute guys for a boy band, flirt with them, dating them, IDK MAN. I fantasize about it since I bought the game, WOULD IT BE SO COOL.

4) More places to buy, I know the game is in beta, but more places to put in the building will be great too. For example in kpop entertaiment, the company keeps all the girls and boys in the same roof, I mean, in one building, they share rooms, live together and that could bring some drama too!

5) KPOP  AND CPOP. It will be great if you choose the place you want to start your company, Korea, Japan or China.

(+1)(-1)

If you want boy bands go make a mod

(-1)

what's wrong with having boy bands as a feature?

(+1)

On the kickstarter page, it mentions that if we want boy groups, we have the option to add them via modding. The game is about managing Japanese girl groups.

Hello! Ive been working on a mod for about a week now and have suggestions that lean more on the technical side.
Ill try to give some use cases so the non tech ppl reading have something they can read.

I am write a series of events and dialogs and have trouble controlling the 'can be trigger randomly'.
I feel some things are missing. like conditions based on time, or custom boolean flags.
I feel like being able to limit event to X number of days from the game start as a condition would be great.

I have string of events and dialogs that go like this.
Idols and staff complain about the Studio WiFi.
You can: Ignore them(Spend nothing), buy some half assed replacement(Spend next to nothing) or Upgrade it(Spend Lots Money.)
If you Ignored or didn't do much a flag is set.
Now your WiFi is hacked, and a devious hacker Attemps to extort you for money.
He tells you to give he money(A LOT OF IT) and that the cops cant help you.
You can: Give him the money, Call the cops, Ignore Him.
If you don't pay him, he start leaking Idol and Staff information online.
This generates scandal points. These events will pop up randomly.
He will eventual randomly contact you again.
You can: [didn't call cops]Pay him(A lot of money), [called cops]Pay him(Crap Tons of money), Ignore him

at first glance this seems simple.
but it actual is a lot of flags.
Flag1 (I call it 'freeWifi')
Has the event ever happened? freeWifi !=0 and !=1
if true trigger WiFi event.
You didnt spend much or anything freeWifi = 1 else =0
if freeWifi==1 randomly trigger Haker dialog, at its end freeWifi=0
Flag2 I call it 'hacked'
Flag3 I call it 'scornedHacker'
if you dont pay hacked = 1
if you call cops hacked and scornedHacker = 1

random events:
Idol personal information leaked
Idol personal photos leaked
Idol texts leaked
Staff emails leaked
And so on.
All these random events involve one random idol or staff, and the have 2 or more options.
One to do nothing(Generate Scandal points and Idol Mental Stress), Do something (Spend money, Generate few Scandal Points, no stress.)

lastly have the hacker come back as a random dialog asking for money
options and text dependent on if you called the cops
{Side note: the cops do nothing.}

Tech Talk:
Currently events and dialogs have condition based on Resources, Variable and Fan total.
I'm finding it problematic that conditional formula and variables are only numeric in nature (Or at least seem to be the Documentation was not clear for meta vars).
Would it be possible to add condition based on vars with types and flags defined by the modder?
Flags as in simple Y/N or True/False.
Vars with types like String, boolean, int, float and such.
If given its own page for set up in the Event Editor these could be pulled in to the drop-downs after being setup.
This could also allow for custom flags or vars to be add to things like idols and staff as well.
This could give more options for meta data association when setting up events.

I'm finding it complicated to work with a system that I can make pseudo flags with 1 and 0

aVariable = 0
aVariable = 1
but lack
aVariable = not set
I currently cant check for null. or if i can the docs to tell me how.
So im doing this to check if its unset-
aVariable != 1
aVariable != 0
I'm not even sure if that works as write since im not sure how the formulas are converted...
I mostly work with java but I have experience with Unity (C# & Javascript)
if 'aVariable' was never set can i even check for it with out throwing an error?
if its javascript converted will 'undefined' work?
I cant think of any C# ways to define and/or convert this...

TLDR: I mostly just want to do this (aVariable = true), (aVariable = false), or (aVariable = null)

Im going to stop with this one, request since if I start talking about another this post will be several miles (or km) long.

I wish there was some mini games for the each jobs that managers get for the idols

(2 edits) (+3)(-1)

I've been playing this game quite a bit over the past few days. It's very addicting! So this is basically a review of my experiences.

Early game is a fantastic challenge!! Because of the challenge, it's very satisfying once you figure it out. Loans might even be a little too forgiving.

The late game is extremely tedious. Money becomes a complete non-factor, which makes things much simpler (in a bad way). I'm sure it will be sorted out in future balancing though.

I find that contrary to real life, first gen members in the game are generally trash. In game, not only can you find better girls later on in big auditions but you can promote them extremely easily with an army of managers. In real life, successfully producing a new younger group, or promoting a new generation of members is extremely difficult. So the game kind of has it backwards in this regard. Perhaps low fame members should have much greater weaknesses, or graduations could have bigger penalties to fame and fans. Anyway, as it stands, money being effectively unlimited in the late game trivializes most of these challenges.

Also I love the scandal points system! It should be more severe in my opinion, so that the tough choices (fire staff vs. fire idol vs. accept the scandal effects) would be more impactful. Then again, effectively unlimited money distorts our view of what's impactful.

Hello!

I’ve had this idea in my mind for quite some time now... I was thinking that maybe you could implement albums and songs to the game.

So, as of now, all of the songs we create are singles. But, wouldn’t it be nice to have to different sections? Like, we’d have singles and songs. Singles would work exactly as they do, while songs will only be released with an album. An album is unlocked after you release three singles. You make an album with a similar structure as single production, but like: concept, cover, material and how it’s gonna be released...

As for sales, an album would sell for 30 days, and the sales would increase or decrease based on your activities. If you promote a group or perform a song, it would increase a bit, while if you don’t do anything for the whole month, the sales decrease as people would lose interest...

With the release of an album, it would allow the group to gain popularity (especially if they promote the album properly) and allow other songs from the album to rank, not only the single. The revenue from the other singles released before the album wouldn’t count as album sales but as individual sales.

Maybe you could even add Album of the Year at the Award Ceremony. And have another Charts just for the selling albums of the month. And I was thinking that a group would have a limit of album they can release. Like only one album every six months.

Now onto singles... It’s common for single albums to have the official single followed by another song. With the song making thing I mentioned, it would allow the group to have a discography and better sales. Or not. For example, if the single is really good but the other song is terrible, it could decrease the sales for a single.

About the song making thingy... Songs could take longer to be made, even though wouldn’t need marketing, because they won’t be promoted as the single. Song quality would depend on the idol’s vocals and producer’s skills. Something along those lines. Or maybe the level of the, I don’t know what that is called, but for example, my producer has a high skill, but I make a pop song with Pop only being Lvl. 1. The song isn’t great, but it isn’t good. Just meh. While if have a producer with good skills, a high level, but terrible idol vocals, the song could be just as bad, or even worse...

I hope you liked it! Thank you for making such an awesome game<3

(+3)

Maybe with an album, a member of the group could come to you as an event and say that they want to try and compose one of the songs, or perhaps it's an ambition of theirs. Depending on their skill, and relationship with the other band members, it could be a huge boost to fame, or it could lead to their rep tanking.

Discovered this game a week ago and I'm loving the direction it's going.

Couldn't find any info on the mature content planned, so the only thing I could say is, no trafficking please. I saw it  mentioned as a request somewhere, but I'd really prefer if it's not in the game. Aside from that I do have some ideas that've come as I learn and play.

  1. Band members with production skills (lyricist, composer, instrumentalist, etc.). Some bands really come into their own when down their career they start flexing some creative control and write/compose their own music. I think band created songs could have positive/negative effect on their fans, even some possible inter-band camaraderie/conflict as creative personalities clash. This could be more of a mid to late game thing, or you can slowly have them develop their skills over time. A successful band member who composed a song could start to want to have a solo career.
  2. Solo careers. Maybe if a member decides to graduate from the band, they could choose to have you manage their solos career if the relationship is high enough and their happy with how you managed them. This could branch into hiring a publicist to manage their social media, AMAs, etc. and the skill level of the publicist. This could lead to events such as book deals, a documentary, themed concert, managed/engineered relationships, etc.
  3. Boy Bands. I know this has been requested previously, but I think it could be cool if the opportunities existed for relationships between them (causing conflict or support inter/intra band), scandals depending on who's involved and what happens.
  4. Album Themes. Maybe a band has been being hit by bad reviews, scandals, or even their morale is low, they can decide to release a "rally" album. It could have power songs saying they're "better than all of the hate", etc. Could have negative/positive outcomes on their fans, could possibly remove a scandal mark, a boost or drop in popularity, etc. Themes could also be based around times of the year (Christmas album, Valentine's Day album, etc.).
  5. Renting Production Space. I think it was requested, but I'd really prefer to not have to own my own recording and dance studios to cut a single. Being able to contract out to a Recording or Dance Studio would help out in the early game. They could have a higher one-time cost per song for production as you're hiring the space and engineer together. Quality could improve as you work more together, as the engineer becomes more familiar with your band. You could also run the risk of maybe a relationship possibly happening which could positively or negatively affect the production time, production quality, or the band's opinions of their member.  Some Recording Studios actually gain reputation if they helped to produce a huge single our album. This could then lead to either a discount as the studio sees the benefits of partnering with the band as they rise in success, or they could raise their rates as they feel they actually made the song/album successes. If you want to get crazy, studios could also have rankings based on equipment, recording space, and engineer. Same thing with a Dance Studio as the Recording Studio.
  6. Upgradeable Room Sizes or Room Levels. Instead of starting with a fully decked out recording space, maybe you could start with a small room with cheaper gear and acoustic treatment. This could also lead to the quality of the engineer they could hire. Want the best engineer, they need the bast gear and space. But it would also allow for expanding recording space to accommodate several engineers, more band members at a time, maybe different song types, faster production time if more of the band members can record at once, etc.
  7. Album Art Design. This is more of a nice-to-do than a need-to-do. I once played a game a long time ago, where you were a movie producer and you could design the DVD cover art by drag-and-drop art assets, add text, set background colors, etc.. Maybe something like that could be done with Album art.
  8. Band Web Site. At some point the bands could need websites for their promotional and fan related advancement. Perhaps each band member could be required to write a post on the site, albums/songs could be purchased from the site instead of a third-party distributor. This could also lead to building you own distribution platform to sell music from not just your own recording label, but other bands, Indies, etc. Then you're not just worrying about managing the bands promotions but also your own platforms promotion.
  9. Relationship/Dating. I know this is planned but I haven't been able to find out where any details had been specified yet, so I figured I'd toss some ideas out here. Currently the idea of me (as the manager) dating a band member seems odd. I'm not sure if it's a common thing or not. What may help is to know how old my character is, so maybe adding the ability to set/see their age. This could then tie into possible scandals or positive publicity if it gets out or depending on the age difference with the idol, and the factions in the game finding out and their reaction to it. Other factors on the relationship and its impact on the agency could be the Idol's temperament (she could be attracted to the manager, or feel it's inappropriate. This could then determines if she hides the relationship or talks openly. Which could then require the manager to ask her to handle it in a certain way to maintain popularity. She may only want to have a relationship to further her career, or she may feel that she needs to leave the band but wants to keep dating. Could eventually progress towards marriage with its own problems with publicity and within the agency), the reputation of the main character in the community, who initiated the relationship, etc. I'd also like to see options of dating venues, depending on the desired level/amount of exposure desired. Depending on how things progress, if her career is accelerating she may desire to not their relationship be public, or depending the the manager's reputation it could be the reverse.  I just want there to be some involvement in the relationship on the Idol's part, as this is something that could/would drastically impact their career.

Just some thoughts I had so far. Great game, and I look forward to see it progress.

Solo careers would be great. The option to offer a graduating member a solo contract would make so much more sense than offering them a job working for the company.

So many great suggestions in this thread, I hope some of them can be implemented in the future, especially the possibility of releasing albums.

All very good suggestions. I would love to see these implemented into the game

About boy bands; I probably wouldn't ever play as one, but I think the game would be much better with them in. I think the main constraint on having them, though, is that I'm pretty sure neither of the people working on the game was responsible for creating the artwork, I'm pretty sure they contracted it out to an artist, and I'm not sure they have the money for much more, and having boy idols would need a complete set of new assets. They might not actually be able to afford to include boy bands no matter how much it would improve the game and the number of people interested in the game.

To me it's gross to think of managers dating the idols who work for them.  But I like your ideas about how it could be done semi-realistically in game.

Like I said, I agree with you. I personally can’t consider dating any of the idols if they’re younger than 23 or 24 at least, and even then it feels a little skeevy. I hired them as talent, so that’s just a big ol’ red flag right there. That’s why I think a risk system is critical. Personally I think it shouldn’t be allowed under 18 at least.

I've heard of performers dating their managers in real life, but they were in their 20’s/30’s.

I’d read dating was planned from the beginning, and just figured it would be good to get the idea out that dating an idol from your roster is a big risk (personally and professionally).

(+1)(-4)

I recently bought the game, and I figured I can provide some feedback.

- I might be in the minority to want boy idols as some groups have them irl. I don't know how integration works, but I consider maybe making it an unlocked feature if one idol happens to have a boyfriend. You can probably make them a singing duet depending on if the boyfriend has any talent or not. It might be interesting how that feature plays out.

Okay, minor nitpick aside, I honestly like the variety of genres you can make in this game. My favorite genres happen to be R&B and Enka, but I like how you can do research on all of them. It's a nice touch.

(+3)(-1)

Another thought I had was for Music Videos.

Similar to point 5. Renting Production Space in my last post, you'd need to hire a director, have them work with a choreographer (either one on your staff, or one hired based on reputation from other talent agencies), screenwriter if you want a storyline, special effects team, and post-production team to handle the video editing, and then book a Movie Studio set. This could then require us to select the theme, which would then affect costuming, special effects, choreography, etc. to match it (think BTS Mic Drop, Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, etc.)
You can decide is it just a straightforward music video of one of the singles that could release simultaneously, or is it where it's nearly a movie in its own right, just with a few of the groups songs carrying it through. Some of the idols could want to have lead roles, or have ideas on the script (a la point 1. Band Members With Production Skills).

Additionally, this could result in reaction videos of the music video, which would provide bonuses or penalties to popularity for the band and individual idols. Look at KDA Popstar, everyone was talking about Soyeon's rapping, Jaira Burn's free styling, etc. In a situation like that, could also lead to companies similar to Riot reaching out and asking to book the idol for a time to record in their own video.

Can you add the ability to launch albums and pv? It will be more realistic.

I think also having the possibility to make sub-groups or teams and choose a leader in your group.

Here are some ideas that would be great along with some suggestions for better playability

1. Would be great if the day was part of the date like Fri, Jun 10 2019. Also the day progress bar doesn’t have a visabile end point so you don’t know when the day will end

2. When dragging idols to the stylist it would be great if the idol thumbnail was at 70% opacity so you could see which style you were over.

3. Is there any location where you can see the total weekly drain on stamina when  an idol has multiple weekly stamina drains from advertisements and shows etc.

4. Would be great if the navigation on the left had indicators like on the singles/shows/events when one or more of them is ready to get the next staff member to check the box needed. And/or how many are currently in progress. Just like number indicator on an app on a phone

5. Consider combining the trend screen and the single style/genre screen. I had to flip back and forth several time trying to remember which ones to select

6. It would be great to collapse the individual idols so I only see their stamina to see more idols at once.

7. Would like to be able to queue performance, promotion, and spa from the activities window much like the status window.

8. When I max out the friendship with an idol would like either deactivating the small talk option or some text saying friendship is maxed out. Also would be great to see friendship level level in the idol window

9. Would be great to get an end of the month summary of finances, accomplishments, etc. It would help give a mental sense of progression of what was accomplished in a month or plus/minus on finances

10. Could we get a flip all on the audition screen?

11. Would really love to be able to change the idols facial expression and outfits.

12. When showing the singles chat would be great to auto focus on the highest released song by the player. Or reset to the #1 song every time. Also if there is no song that week released by the player to have some sort indicator/message so I don’t have to scroll up and down the list to check.

13. Would be great for singles to have declining number of additional sales for say 3 weeks.

loving the game so far!

(+1)

You can see the weekly stamina drain in an idols profile under the jobs tab, although it's split between contracts and shows. You can collapse the individual idols' profiles and just see their stamina if you go to view on the idol sidebar and choose compact (this is a new addition though, you used to just see their faces). Like your ideas, lots of small things that would increase playability.

For Idol Manager I think it would be cool if we could have a survival show for rookies (and also for the ones that are not rookies). So it would boost their popularity and they would get some new skills.

Maybe if they are good enough they could also be promoting in a temporary group and with their own group (temporary groups like I.O.I and IZ*ONE)

For every episode they last we could also get a little bit of money? For example when your idol is against some other idol and you win you move to the next round, get new fans, gain a little bit of skill and you get paid some money.

Edit: also it would be cool if we could have contracts with idols like 7 years or something I don't like that idols are telling me when they want to graduate. Because then I can be prepared to train new idols better. When they say they're leaving in like idk 3 months I feel like I don't have enough time to train idols who are below average.

That's why it would also be cool if we had a category "rookies" who only train and wait for the debut.

Well these are just my ideas. I hope some of them are good enough to be added in the game one day.

Hello

Thanks for the updates. Especially for adding the potential of idols, it improves something I produce the idols.

But I think the problem is still existing.

I don't have enough stamina to do the training. I know training has been changed to cost 3 stamina points per day. It's great. But the point is my idols can't even get enough stamina to work. Let's say, in the early game, all my idols work hard for the money. I need lots of bussiness proposals until  I release 5 singles to unlocking the concert. That's why I can't get enough stamina to do the training because lots of bussiness proposals costs lots of stamina. Well, I won't complain about the stamina cost anyway, and here is a simple way to improve my problem: add the "disabled list" to protect some idols from random bussiness proposals.

You may refer to this post:https://itch.io/t/338778/ideas-and-suggestions?after=140#post-1181128

:P

Hey this is what I did I bought just my office, and office for bussiness. Don't buy dance or music studio. Also buy the doctor's office. Do modeling jobs, then when you have like 300 fans make a radio show. Maybe 1st episode you won't have any profit. But the next episode you will have the profit. That's what I did, and I had 3 radio shows + modeling jobs. Then the idol with less stamina was in the doctor's office.

Buy music and dance studio after you save enough money and not before because you can't make a single right away 1st girls have to model ot get more money, and like I said a radio show and if you buy the dance room and the studio even if you have no workers you have to pay rent which is bad at the start for you. I hope some of this maybe helped. I'm a new player as well.

Hello

Thanks for your advice, but I think you misundertood what I meant :P

I got no problem with earning. I just need enough stamina to do the training in my early game.  Yes, I can make lots of money in one year, then train the idols without worries. But it doesn't make sense. It should be training the idols, they get better, they make their debut,  finally they succeed. It's the principle of sequence.

Ah I see I misunderstood it then. Good luck with training idols ^-^

Hi, this is my suggestion and ideas for Idol manager

So, I really like group with large numbers of people. My main group is over 30 members, I hope I can hold an audition for specific group I'm really lazy to scroll down to the bottom every time to send them to sister group. I also hope that there will be more than 10 places in the general election and more than 15 places in single.

I hope that idol can have concurrent position in two groups. [I don't know why I want it lol]

Double center ? Or triple, quadruple center  xD

[Sorry for bad English and grammar]

So I've played the game a 100h since I bought it and I adore it! Really a great game keep going! But the only things that bothers me is a lack of diversification in the gameplay. I've started  with 3 different group. One with 5 girls, the other one with 10 and the third with 20.

The group with 5 girls did so bad. It was hard to keep floating financially without tiring them to death and eventually it failed.

10 girls: Was easier to maintain but the physical Stam. of the idols never went higher than 30. and all the money I made by releasing singles was already gone by the time I release the next one. So I was playing but didn't feel like I was progressing so I essentially give up...(maybe I play wrong and there's a way to manage it really well, tell me if there's smth that could help me )

20 girls: It was the most easy play because while some members where working the other were resting so it was an endless cycle making progression very easily. I wasnt struggling with the group at all. I created asister group with even more idols.  And frankly it became a piece of cake because none of the idol were tired and I could keep this cycle and gaining fame and money quickly .

So my point is maybe tweak the game to make the possibility  for player to enjoy  smaller group . ( and again maybe I'm missing something crucial and the game let you produce something else than a nuclear-AKB48-like group)

(+3)

I've been loving this game so far, and I've seen pretty much everything I want to see implemented suggested already, so I just wanted to point out something I noticed that may or may not have been intentional!  On one of my save files, two of my idols started dating, only problem is one was 21 while the other was 14, which seems......... questionable, at best. Not sure if the ages of idols/age gaps are programmed to be considered when it comes to them dating one another, so I figured I'd at least make note of it!

Am pretty bad at coming up with names so it would be great with a randomize button.

I just have one main, one medium, and one small idea.

1) More in-depth audition process.

Instead of clicking on our character to start an audition and then only having three options, I'd personally like a more interactive menu/choice. Maybe in the same menu where there's the option to do tours and elections, there can be a tab for auditions as well. Then, we can select what kind of audition (Local, Regional, National) and also how many girls we get to choose from (5, 10, 15). The more girls and the larger the scale of the audition, the more expensive.

The only problem I'd see, is how the game determines when we can hold each type of audition. My idea for that is to have us gain "audition points" or some other generic name. We could gain the points every week or every day; Similar to how we have to wait a certain amount of time to hold another regional or national audition, it could take that long (and that many audition points) to do a 5 member audition of that scale. So, if you don't do auditions that often, you can save up your points and do one big audition once a year (which is what I prefer to do). For the beginning of the game, maybe the player will have infinite points, so they can freely get their beginning group going. Another thought would be maybe we'd have to research the larger auditions.

2) Medium idea - Seeing the election results before they're announced

I can't tell if the election results are completely based on total fan count for each girl or if it matters what type of fans (hardcore vs casual), but I just think it'd be nice to see who's going to be announced before hand so when I put in a girl I'm trying to push up, I'll know if I even have to.

3) Small idea - skippable concerts

I just want to have the option of skipping the whole random chance bottom right circle thing.

Hello,

I recently played the game and I realy enjoyed! (Sorry my english is not that good).

Here the suggestions :

- For the Theater, when suscribtion is enabled, I tried to put the minimal cost, few days after that I had 30 000 suscriptions. After I tried to put the amount at  1 000 000 or 100 000 Y. The problem is : I didn't lose all my suscribers at once and after a week I had more than 13 billions w (in normal mode) ! Even satisfaction didn't decrease a lot (from ~85-80 to ~65-60.) So maybe you can place or limit the cost of the suscription and make the fans a little bit more dissapointed.

- The same goes for the concert, with hardcore fan you won more (~x2~x3) money if you put ticket at max (it's 100k Y I think) with 5% attendance than 100% attendance, satisfaction don't decrease that much in normal mode. What prevent players for doing that ? Then maybe "nerf" a little bit the cost of the tickets and "the declining satisfaction" or perhaps it's just me and I should play in difficult mode...

- Recruitment : It's realy hard to get platinium Idol (each 90 days it's realy long). That's why I think maybe you can "up" a little bit the drop rates for the Idols depend of level(Production/influence) of your producer. There are no differences between Producer lv 0 and producer lv 4.  For exemple : Producer LV 0, nationwide recruitement Platinium Idol rates = 1% / Producer lv 4 (2 influence, 2 production) : Platinium rates 1,25/1,5 % and it's stop at 5% when your producer is Lv 20.  The same goes for regional with gold and local with silver. In my opinion, it's more realistic, if you start to be famous as producer more idols want to join you.

- Add Rival groupe event, once a year one/two/three idol groups can challenge you in "concert contender". Refuse : fans will be disapointed (in hard/normal mode) but if you win you will win more fans. They are like, five songs, each song will demand a certain stat (cute, sexy, smart etc.), You choose your idol and you have an accident rate like concert or something else. Maybe you can implement older cards and new cards. For instance : Accident rates for other group idol + 5% etc.

That's all, thanks for your hard work patience and care!

2 ideas :

Being able to disable all pop-ups

Being able to release full albums instead of just a single

(1 edit) (+3)

After playing for a while I also thought it would be cool if once game is finished we could see updated sales, for example fans can also buy album later, not just on the month when it's released. Like we can see popular groups can still sell their debut albums years after the debut.

And this makes me think if we for example don't release just a digital single but an album and we print like 40k albums, after a while fans could demand us to print more albums because albums are out of stock. I think it would make the game interesting, we could also lose fans if we decide that we won't print the album again because maybe we are broke.

Also it would be cool if we didn't get accused about singing about political songs when we actually didn't even release such song. For example it happened to me - I only did photoshoots, I didn't even release any singles yet and I got accused that my group was singing political lyrics, it would make sense that this only happens when we actually release such song.

And for example when we release a physical single we could create album cover or pick an album cover. Maybe if album was cheaply made fans could be mad at us.

And maybe it would be cool idea if we could somehow give news to the fans that we need help (like makestar project where fans donate money for a comeback) otherwise the group will disband because we are broke.

Maybe we could even decide how many seconds of lines some girl gets and fans could praise us when the most popular girl gets the most lines but others could be mad because we treat some unfairly. And because of that I also got another idea, we could also just have the rapper of the group, a vocalist a sub vocalist (so we'd give girls positions) and if fans complained we could tell them "this member got less lines because they are the visual/rapper."

I'd also like if we wouldn't have to bring the girls to our office every time when we want to interact but sometimes they could also visit us by themselves when they are bullied for example or when a snitch wants to tell us something.

Also maybe we could have fan meetings and girls mess up and they tell something they shouldn't and we must make situation better with our reply to the public. And for paying the girls idk about Japanese idols much but some Korean ones for example don't get paid from the start because they must pay off the debt, this would be really helpful at the start for us as a ceo.

And also 5 to 7 year old contract and idol can not leave, if they do we can sue them (I sound like an evil ceo) but I really hate it when someone says I will graduate before I turn 23 because that doesn't tell me much, they can graduate when they turn 20 because that's before 23rd b.day. I'd really like to control how many time the girls will stay in the group so I can prepare new idols to join. That's why I think it would be cool if we had a "rookie" category and for example they can be rookies for 2 years before they join a group so we can train them well... because some idols that want to join are so untalented lol)

Anyway I hope that some ideas are good enough to end up in the finished game.

(+3)

Two of my idols began dating so I decided I'd have them do a duet, though stats were crippled with no defined center and the song flopped. I would like to see them able to do a duet together without a defined center and perhaps a shared stamina drop for concerts almost like the talk breaks.

(+2)

Hello guys!

The game is hugely imbalanced in the revenue (income VS expenditure) part. The expenses are automatic, but the revenue are action based and often requires a lot of time and action before being just available, i'm not even talking about the lucrative part yet lol...and really it's not lucrative at all compared to the expenses that you quickly pile up lol

I would suggest at least a way to set up your secretaries to automatically chose and negociate or not negociate the contracts and doing so based on the higher/ lower revenue and/or by fame level of each idol. Sometimes I want to promote the ones that don't have lots of requests or fame, and sometimes I just want more money haha!

also a way to repay the loan as we see fit, not in a lump some once. for exemple I want to give back more this week but not completely pay back the loan. And maybee a good backlash if I fail to give back money lol might be funny...game over, death by yakuza haha

also a way to negociate loans through a dialogue with a banker or the investor. if you fail the dialogue, you get the normal loans, if you win, you get more money or no interests. something like that. So we can at least start the game with enough to stay afloat.

Also, at first I thought that the investor was ultra sleazy and would ask me stuff like using my idols for human traffic so i never agreed to his loans especially as they have no interest....then i tried once and realize there were just nice interest free loans haha!

The part where you can reclaim the idols after they graduate and make them work for you as staff is genius. But I feel it lacks something...like either a more substensial bonus or a more fulfilling status for the idols. They are supposed to go for a better deal and you get them back for a worse one lol...either they need to really help boost your overall business, because so far, everything is trying to put you down to the ground lol (great perks as staff or really fast level up or income stream) or they need to come with a hefty price (have to match the other deal they had or surpass it in order to get them with their super perks).

take your time if you like these ideas. i'm okay having to wait a V2 or a second game. please, just give me a lower price though haha!

I have a simple suggestion. For some reason, music in games ruin my immersion, so I usually play with the music off and the general sounds with the Max volume possible.

I noticed that the current build has the staff's typing sounds together with the background music. It would be nice if you guys could separate the sounds!

I have played this game for quite a long time now. Overall, i quite happy with it, but i have one suggestion, can we have a graduation concert?
Cause i feel this game have inspiration from AKB48 concept, so whenever a famous member graduate, can we have a option to thrown a graduation concert for her?

And also, a contract for at least 5 year sound like a good idea, cause there’s time when my idol graduate so soon, before i can do anything with her.

(+3)

throwing a graduation concert would be so great. I do it “unofficially” but sometimes it messes up my plans, because you only know a member’s graduation date 3months in advance.

Ideally the graduation concert wouldn’t affect the 1 month cooldown period for a normal concert.

I second this!

Sooo, I already did a post like this, just moved it here. I don't know  if these ideas are floating around already, but I couldn't get myself to read all of the suggestions, which I think are awesome as far as I read them. Here are my two cents.

1. Stats for staff - former idol

I would love to still be able to see the stats they graduated with, their earned money, accomplishments etc.

I think it adds a lot of depth to the staff.

2. Dating staff - former idol

Still being able to interact with the former idols, like going on a date would be great too, so you don't disconnect from your favourite idols.

Having additional lines as staff maybe?

3.  Coaching / Styling skills - former idol

Having their coaching skills depend on the associated skill they had as an idol, so they can pass their knowledge on instead of starting from scratch, because they feel kinda useless in the long run.

I haven't encountered a former idol as a stylist so I don't know if that's even a thing, but if not, I would love to see it implemented.

I think separating the styles would be nice. Regular staff you can hire could simply have two of them at the same level, so it wouldn't change that aspect.

4. Motivation score

Maybe idols could start with high motivation, as new idols and lower it over time until 50% or something, because they become accustomed to their new lifestyle.

This could be accompanied with new traits, which impact motivation gain and loss.

Could actually impact if a graduating idol wants to stay with the group.

5. Punishment for minimum wage

I guess that's a beta thing, because I haven't seen any impact for them being unsatisfied.

Let idols provoke scandals, because they're underpaid.

Or even quit for good if the payment is far too low or over an extended period.

Maybe combine with my previous point and lower their motivation, or increase it to a certain degree with high payment.

6. Filter Songs in Concert Setup

Having the option to filter for fan satisfaction, stars etc. would be nice, because the song list becomes quite extensive after a while.

7.  Sister Groups as opening acts

Maybe add the option of having a sister group as the opening act with a seperate setup to promote them.

8. Calendar

A calendar would be great to properly schedule tasks, concerts etc ahead of time.

9. Special event preparations

I think being able to prepare multiple special events in advance should be a feature, so they can launch after cooldown has reset.

This game is already great and has so much potential to grow.  I look forward to the next update and will keep playing until then^^

* Structured and added some points.

(+3)

You can add "Push a unit" as a function, just like pushing single idols.

When some idols are pushed as a duo or trio, if they stand close in a single, or if they host a show together, they can attract more fans.  Also, their relationship can grow or worsen depending on their fame gap.

(+3)

I really hope we will be able to disband a group in the full game or a future update.

(+6)

my 24 year old member was dating a 13 year old... I kinda wish such old members weren't dating kids or I wish instead of "break up" we could tell them  to stop dating kids or something. Or maybe we could get both of them in the office somehow and make the older girl apologize so we'd tell the young girl to be more careful next time. Sorry if I'm thinking into this too much but yeah.

(+2)

Since the player is not allowed to date underage idols, I can only assume this is a bug.  I think underage idols should either not be able to be in relationship, only be able to have some sort of 'special friendship' with another idol (kinda like a relationship, but less blatant), or just be able to date other underage idols.

Personally I think a slight element of randomness would be nice when it comes to singles, rather than everything being very formulaic all the time. It feels like there's some kind of strict numerical formula determining how many singles we sell, aside from the "trending" genres/lyrics. Maybe there's a 1/100 chance your debut single will go viral and rocket your group to fame, or maybe a single will "flop" once in a while and actually make fans leave the group - it certainly happens with real groups.

(+1)

Would it be possible to have an assistant once you reach a certain fame level? Someone who can do the concept/lyrics and pre-production and all that stuff, so my player can focus on the idols or getting xp and such.

(+1)

Once the office manager has max proficiency in both of her skills she can do concept, lyrics, and pre-production  instead of the player.

haven't gotten that far,thanks!

(1 edit) (+5)

Ok so I just wanted to say a few more things:

AUDITIONS:

I think it would be cool of we could pick what age can audition. Foe example you want age range from 14-18. Idols who are over 18 can't audition. Sometimes I feel like age gap is too big with my idols I pick. Like I pick talented 14 year old. All others on audition suck and then it's talented 22 year old.

I also wish we could ask them things like a few questions when they audition.

PAYMENT FOR STAFF:

I think that once staff has more stars they can get paid more but the payment should be raised two or three  times max - when we are just starting with our company. Because when I started accepting idols that sucked at everything  (they can sing only 2 out of 60 for example) and I train them to 60. The more I train the more stars my staff gets, the more I pay them, I almost go bankrupt for that or go bankrupt.  So sometimes I have no choice but to cheat and press y to get money.

Usually I don't pick idols that can sing just to 10 or 15 because that's horrible. So I pick the ones that are more talented and I can train them the most.

MORE REALISTIC WHEN IT COMES TO SINGING ABILITIES:

I feel like people should also attack us online of idols don't approve. Or random people on Internet be mean and say we should disband.

I always want to train my idols because that's more realistic than not training idols and picking untalented ones.

REALISTIC WHEN IT COMES TO LOOK:

For example girls can be pretty but they would get bashed online like in real life. Maybe the company could get them a plastic surgery. And there could actually be a possibility to ruin their looks if you get plastic surgery too often on the same girl. Maybe the girl could get addicted to plastic surgery if she goes under plastic surgery more than twice.

If people complained, not just fans game would be more interesting because sometimes I stop playing for a long time because everytime it feel like it's the some thing and same situations happen with the girls. I wish there was more in the finished game later on. More scenarios and not just repeated scenarios over and over. For a beta the game is pretty cool, just for the finished version I really wish for more scenarios.

AND THE VERY LAST THING:

I wish we could name our company. There could also be scenarios where we have to fire someone because for example manager scammed the idol or something like that.

(2 edits) (+4)

Add a "Rap" stat, add the ability to make a Rap song, add Albums (perhaps you'd have to hire an artist to do the album cover?) add a Music Video needed to make a single/album perhaps?, make it so that in your first group, ONLY the idols from your first group pop up (or add the ability to do that) (as in, rather than all your idols popping up when making a single for Group N1, make it so only the girls from that group pop up), add a, perhaps, bullying past/currently bullying member as a giant scandal (4 sp), add a mini-game like the Concert mini-game for the World Tour, and maybe add scenarios where your idols are being attacked for being a "bad vocalist" "bad visual" "bad dancer", or a "bad rapper", and maybe add a "training" period before you debut? and that's all I can think of!

(1 edit) (+6)

I really enjoy this game and I haven't stopped playing since i bought it, but I think these would make it more interesting:

Sometimes when members are being bullied, they should expose the member on sns - but also sometimes bullies should falsely accuse their victim. It should then be up to you to decide how to handle the situation and possibly receive scandal points depending on your choice.

To be able to rename groups and disband them.

B-side songs, graduation singles, graduation concerts & albums.

A bootcamp feature where you can send an idol for different periods of time and they receive boosts in their skills depending on how long they're sent for - however their stamina is greatly reduced during this time.

Sub-units, duos & solo's.

Higher capacity of members for songs.

Feedback from fans (or anti's) on sns about various things - such as cute/pretty/cool/sexy skill, vocal skill, dance skill, intelligence, funniness, charisma, backlash from male fans who attend a handshake event and interact with an idol with misandry, an idol not being included/always in back row/always being center/etc.

Ballad as a song type, graduation song as a marketing point & graduation lyrics.

Idols rejoining after graduation sometimes.

More variety in scandals.

Scandal points for putting members under 18 in bikini singles or songs with sexy choreo.

Idols themselves choosing to go onto hiatus for reasons like school/mental health/exhaustion.

Criticism if lots of your idols have low skills.

Having a kenkyuusei system similar to AKB48's.

TV show, photoshoots, variety show & advertisement deals sometimes being for multiple members.

EDIT: Oh and I forgot to say international members and possibly international auditions.

Once office managers hit max stars in both stats they can be upgraded to do producer tasks.

(+1)

Would it be possible to add in a way to name save files?

(1 edit) (+4)

So I have a few ideas...

1) A cool function maybe could be a system for trying to break into international an audience (ex. The USA), and a system for trying to build relationships with “foreign” record companies/labels to offer distribution deal or even have the staffers try to negotiate  deals for international distribution.

2) Different formations for the idol, So ways for pushing solo acts or duo. Continuing with that idea, there could be a way to push idols as solo acts or subunits while continuing to be in groups (ex. Jennie’s “Solo” or Red Velvet- IRENE & SEULGI).

3) A way to  collaborate  with other in-game groups/artists. My idea is to have the office worker be able to research opportunities for music collaborations (ex. Kiss and Makeup - Dua Lipa Feat. Blackpink) or have even have collaborations within the player’s sister groups.

4) Lastly I’m suggesting little things that  I’d hate myself for not suggesting when I had the chance, but there should be the ability to produce albums, music videos, clothing line deals, and sponsorships. Maybe ways for idols to be canceled (#______isoverparty)and on the opposite side, ways for idols to save face from scandals like having them being able to participate in charity benefits or something along that line and them possibly being rejected for having poor reputation.

(+2)

I second the idea of having some way to save face and burn off scandal points.  They're pretty hard to get rid of, and an accumulation of even a small number can hurt badly.

(1 edit) (+11)

So, I've played Idol Manager for 10 months now and I feel the lack of some things:

1. Photobooks: I guess this sounds a little weird or non-important but I'd love the option to release photobooks for my most popular idols or even for the entire group! I imagine it as a system where you could choose the theme (a sexy, fashion/pretty, cute or a cool PB) and the quality of the construction, the quality of the photographer and all that combined with fans would make the sales number. Would be nice to have a re-print situation, just like Shiraishi Mai's PB got reprinted NUMEROUS times XDDDD

2. Separate charts: I guess would be really cool to see a Digital Chart, where the numbers and the position would be based more on what's trending right now and on younger fans, but also a Physical Chart, this one being more based on how many fans you have/how many copies they were willing to buy, and, of course, a single having two types of sales, the physical and the digital.

3. Sales not being restricted only to the time of the release: well, the ~title~ kind of explains it all, I really think sales should keep going through the years/months, maybe some singles could re-enter the charts based on what's trending at the moment.

4. More depth on single making: the system right now is good but it could use some detailing, what I have in mind is music video costs and options, the option to create more than one type/version of the same single, the possibility to create b-sides as well as the idols that will be singing those songs, maybe the possibility to choose the materials the single will be made of (for example: cheap plastic would make fans unhappy, good plastic would make fans happy/buy more copies), that cover thing back maybe with options of customization, the possibility of having a double center situation...

5. Generations and Auditions: would be nice to see a generations distinction between the idols, for an example: girls that got in the group on the same year would belong to the same generation (2018 - 1st gen, 2019 - 2nd gen...) and this would be shown on her "card/profile". About auditions. I really think auditions should be larger, or at least have the option to make them bigger, something like 15 or 20 girls (of course, costing more money).

6. Music Shows: being invited to perform at music shows like Music Station or Kouhaku Uta Gassen would be really fun, choosing the idols, the setlist in case it's a year-end thing, etc...

7. Financial Reports: would be really cool to have graphics and comparisons available to see the growth or the fall of the company, maybe a monthly or yearly report!

8. Customization: well, that would need a lot more work from the artist that makes the illustrations for the game but ANYWAAAYS, would be really cool to get to set a particular uniform that all of the company's or group's idols would wear.

9. Being able to have separate groups under the same company: some sort of sister groups but not really, I don't know if that makes any sense at all XD, something like having the option to invest money on a completely new project with completely new idols, but them having a push because of the company's and the previous groups' fame.  In addition to that some sort of paying for marketing so the new group can start with fans already would be cool.

10. Disbandment: I'll be honest, sometimes I just get tired of my groups and want to end them and start something fresh, but with the company's money to invest.

11. Bigger elections: having up to 15 (a full single team) elected idols would be cool, and possibly some sort of Undergirls, Next girls... just like on AKB.

12. Sub-units and solo releases: I've seen many people suggest it but I'll do it anyways, having sub-units and solo projects (like Tomomi Itano's "Dear J", or no3b, not yet, French Kiss [all from AKB]) while they're still inside the group would be amazing! (If someone wants to do it ~unofficially~ you can create a sister group called "solo" or something like that and place only one idol there XD).

13. Possibility of buying lyrics, instrumentals, etc: sometimes my producer is just way too busy with special events so having the option of buying lyrics would be really helpful.

14. More cooldown time between singles: I guess 1 single per month is a little bit too much, at least in real life fans would be pissed/overwhelmed, so bigger cooldown would be great, specially if the system of the sales going throughout the year is implemented!

15. "Random" elections: It would be cool to see something like the AKB48's Janken Tournment, an event randomly deciding the girls that will be participating on the next single, maybe randomly deciding who's the next solo project, or the next unit project, photobook etc...

16. Full albums: well, simply the option of releasing full albums XD but with much longer cooldown than a single would have

Guess that was it, I didn't expect to write this much but I hope this is helpful to improve the game!

(+6)

Could it be possible to designate individual sister groups on an international tour?

Right now, everyone is required to go on tour, and it's really punishing stamina wise.

I'd like there to be an option to choose which groups to go on tour.  Otherwise, it punishes maintaining a large stable of idols.

48g wouldn't send their entire roster of girls on an international tour, and I'd like there to be an option for us as well.

Stylists now level excruciatingly slow - working only  on her primary skill, it's taken one stylist most of a year to advance from two stars to four.  Given the extremely painful slowness of advancing through the higher star levels, that does not bode well for the future.  Seems to me that they need a slight boost in that department.

And I still don't understand why the two different types have such radically different starting levels.

(+7)

It's been mentioned before, but I'd really like to be able to produce albums! It's confusing to me that we can only create singles when it's albums that seem to generate the most hype/sales in the real world. I saw an idea of making them a once-yearly thing and I think that putting them on a 6 or 12 month time limit would be perfect. They could even have restrictions - Fujimoto made you release an Enka single? Well that won't fit on your Rock/Pop themed album! And maybe once a single has been released on an album it's banned from other albums so you can't just re-release the same songs over and over.

Another thing I'd really like, though it might be just me, is another ambient song or two on the building screen and the concert screen - I've been playing this game a lot since my friend showed it to me, but I'm really getting sick of hearing the in-game music over and over and over again (and yes, I know I can mute it, but...). If there were another couple of songs so that there was variation in the loops I think it could be really cool - they could even reflect the kind of music that your idols are most proficient/prolific with! (though that could get tricky with multiple groups etc). It just feels like in a game about creating music that there could be a little more actual musical option? Even if the same basic loop is just tinged with slightly different options to represent the musical styles in game? Sorry, I'm not a musician, but like, taking the loop that exists now and just playing it in a electric guitar for a metal theme, or making it a bit 'bouncier' for a pop theme... etc, etc.

Anyway I've been really loving this game and I can't wait for the full release ♥

in the game its kinda annoying when you have a group with perfect stats and you want to start another group and when you get new people the stats of your existing group go down it would be nice if you made it so when you start a new group and get new people the statsof the other group arent effected so like each group has their own dance stats and stuff like that

you know how you can make sister groups what about being able to make non sister groups

like start an entire new project with entirely new idols

(+1)

Some stuff I was thinking and criticism when I was playing, Sorry if it has already been said or are you working on it.

1-Add something to make more clear when a Idol is training a stat above her max potential, for example a little symbol next to the stat in the menu, change the color to another like Yellow, or a little bottom text when you take someone in a room.

2-You can Socialize when someone is doing something a room but you have to do it before they enter the room and it is a bit annoying specially when a room is autoing.

3-It is bit stupid to have Idols say the same thing you already know (even if it make sense, how they would know too) but I pretty certain I saw repeat about boyfriends and friend in the group.

4-Wishes are useless when they hit the max influence, I still didn't try to use something that requires it but I think it is a cost then "you need that level". I don't have a lot of ideas about what extra you could get, point to friendship and relationships, I think more on the last one which make sense.

5-I saw "Digital Only Release" was leveling when I released a Single but you can't manually, I think it just a bug, you could just fix it or adding a 50yen extra per level to sale (Already it is pretty powerful on it own so maybe not).

6-About "Unfair" Difficulty, what is about it, would be nice to see a bit more explained, but I think on the most part is more bad ads, bad events and bigger hits on Idols or group when a event end badly...

Said that I think the game is fantatic as is and I can't wait for more relationships within the Company and more event stories. Thanks for this game devs.

(+2)

I started playing a bit today again and I thought we could also get money by posting videos like yt. It can be named differently like idoltube or whatever the point is to be like yt where you get likes, dislikes and you have to get the amount of subscribers (idk like 20k) to start earning money from videos.

You could post MV's, or just videos like dance covers of other famous groups or singing covers. Or you could just post vlogs. It would nice to see dislikes for example if people dislike some girl. Or even hate comments for the company if you haven't released any new music for a while.

For MV you could post a professional MV that costs a lot but also very low budget and then people could complain and dislike it. Also if they do a sexy cover/concept people can hate and complain. Or they can actually like it and it goes viral.

Maybe if you could post a statement on social media like "if we don't do well next comeback we have to disband or let go some members" just to make people pity buy the single/album or if people would pity stream our videos (and we could earn more from MV views) also we should get money from MV's weekly not just once. Once you get more views you still get money. So it's not a one time payment like singles where you only get the amount on release day.

And singles should probably be bought later like when group gets more fans new fans could buy older singles.

Just a thought. That would be more interesting than just clicking on "promotion" because we'd actually see feedback (views, likes, dislikes, comments)

(1 edit) (+5)

When creating a "sister group", there's a randomizer that'll provide different names for the group. Could we have that when starting the game? I always struggle to think of a cute name for my groups!

As well, if possible, could we get a one room break room? Even if it only recuperates one (or two?) idols per week, it would help out early game players (and late game, where I have empty spaces and I don't want another office or designer ...)

(+2)

I have some suggestions for the game, I hope they are not annoying:

1. Change the images of the jobs depending on what type. Style that if a magazine cover is cute, the image is of the idol making a gesture of that type.

2. That it be possible to choose which group the elections are made to. Like at one point doing it for the main group, then the brothers and then the full agency.

3. That on some dates there is a special modification for some type of songs. Style that around Valentine's Day love songs do better.

I hope they are not annoying and that they understand each other, since I speak Spanish.

I would love it if there were keyboard shortcuts for different commands in game.

(+2)

After looking at the recent update I remembered a suggestion I had! Can we have two different ways to sort the girls by age in the idol sidebar? Right now, it has the youngest at the top and the eldest at the bottom and I'd really appreciate it the other way around too. No big deal of course but it'd be nice.

(1 edit) (+6)

Ok so... my game does not start after the lattest update. It just shows the cover art forever after I choose the MC's and group's name.

but other than that, here goes some suggestions I have after playing the game for months now:

ALBUMS and Music Videos (c'mon, everyone wants this simply because it can't be a music industry sim game without it, so I'm just going to lay down some must-have features for this)

The MC should be able to write all or just some of the songs for the album or hire a team of producers to do it partially or completely. The MC must be able to choose from unknown writers/producers to worldwide famous teams which would determine both the quality and budget of the project.

The MC should be able to decide how long the album takes to be finished and that will also affect its quality.
During the album production period, many random events should take place and they can also affect the album quality or even increase the amount of time the project takes to be finished resulting in the delay of the release.
Like, 'idol-A' fights with 'idol-B' over line distribution or 'idol showing late for recording' or 'idol is sick and can't record' or even songs leaking online.

Also, albums should have a cooldown period and the possibility to release Repackaged (re-release) albums with a new title track and a couple of new songs.

Fans should demand albums to be released if they feel like it has been too long since the groups latest comeback and if that happens, you would have to work a project with a deadline, suffering the loss of fans or sales impact if the album gets postponed by random events.

MC should be able to decide whether the project is a full-length album (10-15 tracks), a mini-album (4-6 tracks), a Remix album (10-15 tracks), or a Greatest Hits album (up to 25 tracks).

It should also be possible to use unreleased songs and singles that weren't on past albums on an album currently in development (that would help if you're short on money for the production or simply want to save some).

Once the album is ready, it should be possible to send it back to production if you don't like the end result (quality) at the cost of idols mental and physical stamina. This is also a cool feature because if the quality is low because of fights between the idols or idols being irresponsible during the production period, that could even generate more drama between the members and if it gets really bad, the quality may even be lower than the first time urging the player to solve the situation as fast as they can.

The player should be able to release up to 3 singles from each album and all 3 can have their own music video.

During album production, the MC should be able to buy songs from other artists/companies to complete the album faster.
The MC can also be approached by famous or washed up music producers claiming they have the next #1 smash hit and they want to sell it to the company on the condition that the song is released as one of the singles from the groups next album. Those would be contract singles that can randomly do well or not so much in the charts, they could generate random events both negative or positive such as plagiarism claims or subliminal messages in the lyrics or be deemed Genius Lyrics or Song of The Year. Nonetheless, the player can't proceed to another album or single production before releasing the contracted single as the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd single from the current album. These songs would also be sold for really cheap prices in comparison with the ones the player can buy ready but would have a much higher royalty % for the original producer.

Music Video production can be easy, you just have to pick the theme, the budget, director and production company and location for the shoot which can be in any country affecting the budget for the video. Random events should also be connected to the MVs production.

Companies and Brands should offer sponsor deals related to music videos so they can pay for half of the production budget in exchange for having their products promoted on the MV.

ABOUT RANDOM EVENTS:

Then again, not all random events in this should be negative. We can have some things like, 'idol-A' really improved her vocal skills and that showed in the latest recording session. Album gets x.x% bonus quality points.' or for MVs 'idol-B showed up for shooting with a very nice energy that affected all members and the crew. MV gets x.x% bonus quality points' or even 'idol-C showcased her dancing skills during the shooting resulting in amazing takes from the dance scene. x.x% bonus quality points'.
Even though that, more serious negative events not related to idols relationships could also take place like 'during the shoot of a stunt scene, idol-c injured her leg, shooting had to be postphoned. -x% quality for MV.

EXTRA FEATURE: (since I know this is based on the Japanese Idol Industry, I'm not sure if this one really applies but, anyway I just think it would be a nice feature)

Idols may develop artistic traits and work on original music, the player then would decide if they are using it or not. Maybe idols with artistic traits could have WISHES of having one or more self-composed songs on albums. The Idol's original songs could have their quality based on their abilities so if you think the songs isn't good enough, you can politely tell the idol she should work harder and that can have a negative or positive turn out in your relationship with the idol depending on the idol's personality traits.
If the idol's song is good but doesn't fit the concept you're going for or you just don't want to share royalties with them you can refuse to use the songs also at a risk of impacting the relationship with the idol or only inciting them to want to end their contracts earlier because of lack of creative freedom.

(+2)

Wouldn't be great if we had random questions like moral dilemma like: "if you use sexy concept there is 20% of chance for your song to become viral (and sell 1M copies even if you're a nugu) but there is 80% of chance to lose 50% of your fanbase if the song doesn't go viral, what would you like to do?"

Ofc after the song goes viral or if it goes viral, our next single can still have nugu sales because people were only interested in a viral hit and not our other song.

That would be pretty cool. It would be more risk and more consequence. There should be a lot of such questions during the game so we wouldn't get the same scenarios like now over and over again.

(2 edits) (+5)

Not really ideas but something which may improve the user experience:

1. During business proposals the dialog displays 3 girls to select. But there doesn't appear to be any way to view what current contracts are in place for those said idols. As our roster increases it becomes difficult to identify each girl and what contracts she has going on. There have been numerous times where I have accidently given the same idol -47pts jobs resulting in...well hiatus and broken contracts due to injury only because I couldn't remember an idol still has a contract running.  So either give players access to the contract button at the bottom or some kind of counter on the idol's card to indicate how many contracts they have.

2. When releasing a single as the main group and selecting the formation. There needs to be more information when I hover over the idol about what group she is assigned to. In order to manage stamina effectively I don't really like putting idols in sister groups into the main group at times. At some point you are managing far too many idols to remember who is in what.  It becomes a bit cumbersome selecting the drop down menu of each sister group just to remind yourself who is in what group. I should be able to hover over an idol and just see what group she is assigned to. Maybe each group can have some sort of icon (emoji xD dunno) when you first create a sister group that way if I see that icon on the corner of each idol's card when you hover over an idol it will let me know what group she is in .

3. I should be able to change the style of outfits of each idol. (Plays into 2). The outfits will help brand groups and make them more identifiable to the player. I get faces should not be customisable but the outfit and hair should.

4. During the election, I should be able to see tasks or some kind of indication what idol's wish to be ranked. The election happens every 6 month so it really is a missed opportunity as I am unable to remember what idols want to rank.

Here are some ideas I had:

1. It would be nice if all the graduated idols that work for you don't all become Sales Managers. I'd like to keep them all if I could but I don't need 10 Sales Managers.  Maybe they can become other things? Music Producer, choreographer, stylist etc depending on their stats/fame/fans will determine their star level but a choice to select which one will be nice not randomised. Also i'd like to know what their potential starting star level will be before I employ them?

2. Graduated idols that work for you/are fired should still appear under the graduated tab in idols. Maybe it can say "Working as a Sales Manager for [insert your name]" obviously if they get fired then it can just be randomly updated. But the small detail will be nice to give homage to the past idols.

3. An option to negotiating with an idol who wants to graduate to perhaps convince her to stay?  Or maybe idols graduating way before their time can threaten to leave unless so and so is fulfilled (Salary bump, Center single with x amount of sales). I've had idols graduate within a year of being with the group and I don't really understand why.

4. Someone else who can be a producer and write lyrics and do the the tasks the manager can ? with over 10 girls it becomes harder to bond with each idol and find out what they wish or who is dating who.  Especially if you have singles/concerts to manage. This  will be a good potential job for the graduated idols?

5. Solo acts

Anywho, that's it. Keep up the good work. I've been really enjoying the game thus far and can't wait for it to be released officially.

Developer(+2)

>1. It would be nice if all the graduated idols that work for you don't all become Sales Managers

It is actually determined by their stats, they should be able to become choreographers etc. I'll check, this could be a bug.

(1 edit) (+4)

I have a suggestion for the graduation system.

 1. I would really love to be able to keep my Idols longer. All of the idols graduate usually at a young age like 18 or 20 years old. It would be amazing for them to still be an idol all the way up to age 30-35. I don't really like how I have to keep finding other idols by doing auditions just so I can replace my graduated idol.

2. Instead of having a set graduation date (they should always graduate/retire if they reach 30-35 years), it should be the idol's choice to graduate or not until they reach the max age. Idols could graduate if they decide to stop being an idol (could depend on mental stamina if it gets too low or they are involved in a lot of scandals, being bullied for too long, etc.). They could also leave because of a personal reason (maybe their family member died, if they are young and still in school; they can leave to continue studying, etc.).

3. If the above suggestions are suggested, it could also be added that idols can return (if accepted or declined by the player) back into the group if they graduated early before the max age.  For example, a idol could've graduated to continue studying but decided to continue being an idol instead.

4. Would also like to add the idea of trainees. Trainees can be trained until the player decides to debut them. It would add a more realistic feel to the game. I think it would be awesome if we could list 12-16 year old idols as trainees and be able to debut them at 18 or so with their updated attributes.

Hope you take these suggestions into consideration. Most of all, I really hope you can adjust the graduation ages to be higher instead of the normal 19 or 20 age.

I have some suggestions related to user experience.

1. Automation for sociable and activities.
Sociable. When I intend to improve influence I have to drag and drop each times. It is a little bit irritating. So I prefer to choose persons whom I intend to do sociable, and automatically assign them to sociable tasks.
Activities. I suppose there is no need to select activities each days, I prefer to select at once. And repeat same activities every day automatically.
2. Pause functioning
When I unpausing the game by space-key game speed returns to normal. I suppose it might be better to return to speed previously selected.
For example,
current double->pause->unpause->normal
suggestion double->pause->unpause->double

(+3)

It would be great if when you hover over the number of fans, you can see which sister groups have how many fans.

(+3)

I'm not sure if this thread is still being checked but in the future could the devs consider adding the ability to buyout other companies/labels? Like if you keep outselling/sabotaging a rival group, the stock prices of their company should decrease overtime and if the player has enough money (or if they've bought small amounts of stocks overtime) they could buyout their stocks and merge the company gaining all of their idols, staff and remaining fans or just have the company as a sub-label that generates income if the player maintains it. There could be a menu where the player could decide which idols or staff member to transfer between the sub-label and main label. Also there could be random events like natural events or economic crashes that could also affect other companies' stock prices.

Another idea i have is the ability to open your own training academy. I find it annoying to have my popular and well trained idols graduate and then i have to replace them with idols that aren't as skilled. So there could be an option to open an "idol school" that basically would "farm" future idols. For example the player could hire specific vocal and dance coaches (or graduated idols) to train young idols for 2-3 years. The player could make money by setting the training price for young girls to enter and after they graduate from the academy the player could have the option to let them join their group or accept a large sum of money from them. It would be cool to see the rejected girls appear in rival groups or have events of them harrassing the player's pre-exsisting idols out of jealousy. The player could even accept contracts from larger rival companies to train their idols at their academy for a hefty price (if the player graduates a specific amount of idols or something).

Thank you for working on the game devs, it's a really fun game and i look forward to seeing how the final product turns out! <3

Male Idols?  Maybe less common to get?

(+4)

No male idols it's girl groups only.

(+3)(-4)

still male idols would be interesting

(1 edit) (+2)(-3)

My suggestion  is perhaps more of an pos-release thing??

Either way, I would really like the possibility to have a BoyGroup too, maybe you could put it in an DLC afterward ??

Also, I really think you guys should explain the basics of the game a lot better, because it took me a some time to understand that i couldn`t release a single because i havent done any research before and needed to unlock things like lyrics and etc, but by that time i was already full of debts and needed to start over (TT-TT).

Other thing I think would be cool is to explain the differences between the staff a little better? Like, who to contract if you want to train the girls or if you want to only focus on fast producing thing. Because it ALSO took me a while to figure it out why my trainees couldn´t train at all.

But besides that, its really an amazing game, looking forward to the official release!!!

OBS: I´m sorry if the things I complained have been explained in the game, but if so, it was so fast or so in between a really long end kinda boring "dialog" that i let it slide, sorry.

(+1)

Don't worry, full release will feature a fully fledged tutorial with everything a newcomer, or even a veteran, needs to know about the game and how to play it. It's just something that's being worked on for the final product, so you might have to rely on tooltips, other players, and your intuition to get things going on your end.

Also, about boy groups: the devs currently have no intention of adding those, since after the game's officially released for PC, they'll still have a lot of work ahead of them with the Switch port. Maybe after that they might think about DLCs and expansions, but there's always a possibility that modders will be able to implement the possibility of having boy groups.

It would be great if when you deleted a room you got refunded part of the cost.

Also, the costs for  placing rooms is very expensive, especially when you need so many to manage your group. It feels this part of the game isnt optimized at all. The fact that the costs are so outrageously high its been a little confusing on how to even produce things when you cant rank things up without chorographer etc.

In order to start making money, all you need is basically your office, an office for your manager and, optionally, a break room for your idols to recover.  You should always keep in mind that there's also rent you have to pay when you start using more than one floor, so you have to be mindful of your space and your finances.

A manager? Who? I have had nothing but a office x2 (me and woman lady) and a break room but then ....what how do you raise the stats of your girls?

That lady is the "manager" I was referring to. Improving your idols' stats shouldn't really be a priority in the early stages of the game if you're seeking financial stability. Personally, I'd rather invest in production than in training, for both dancing and vocal.

(+3)

I also suggest what we should get gold idols when we do local auditions because let's be real after talented trainees leave from very good companies they also end up in small shitty companies or talented idols were rejected from big companies for whatever reason for example we could get gold idol with great vocals and dancing skills but they would not be cool or pretty because for example this is why they ended up here, others didn't want them because they were ugly by idol standards. It can be very small % to get them like maybe 0.2% but it would be nice if we could get some talented gold idols in local auditions.

(+1)

A tutorial. I was kind of shocked that after the actual gameplay starts, there isn't some sort of guide to what you're supposed to do. There is one if you click the correct area, but that seems too klunky to me. A lot of games of this style I've played in the past have guided the player through the steps of the first week or so, to give them a way of knowing what to do.

(+1)

Devs are working on a complete tutorial and it will be available when the full game's released.

(+2)

So first of all, I want to say that I've been enjoying the game immensely, even though I've only been playing for a few days so far. I don't know how deep the existing content goes, so I apologize if some of these are already implemented or planned.

The first one is something that I'd consider to be a rather big QoL improvement; the other two are just things I think would be nice to have.

  1. Show the relationship meters in the Socialization screen. Unless I'm missing something, there's no way to actually check your relationship stats while you're actually in conversation. It would be great if, for instance, you could see an idol's Influence value before you try to blackmail her into doing something for you. I generally try to double-check their profiles before I enter a conversation, but every now and again I forget to, or else I need a refresher.
  2. Right now it doesn't seem like there's much point to keeping on an idol as a staffer after she graduates, as there's nothing really differentiating her from Generic Office Temp #4021 other than the unique portrait. It would be nice to have something like a unique stat bonus, or else some minor post-graduation events that pop up occasionally based on the relationship you developed with her while she was still active.
  3. Personalities that evolve as an idol ages. Not necessarily asking for something like a full-blown Crusader Kings-style trait system, but it would be fun if each idol had a small random chance of gaining a second trait on her birthday in addition to the one she starts with.
(+7)

I've been playing the game since may, and I must admit that I love it.

But as I was playing, I was thinking that I could be very amazing to not be imposed groups of ten. As I know it could disbalance the game to have smaller groups, I was thinking that the amount of smaller groups could be restrain to a certain amounts, per fame of you company maybe ? I don't know yet, but I think it would ba awesome to have the ability to create duos or trios without having like 30 idols in your main group in order to do so.

I also was thinking that saving the formation you did would really help, cuz when you start building up a big company it is easy to get lost in your idols.

And also, I know you can see idols according to your sister groups, but it would be really nice if we could (when you do a single with your main group) have an option to only see your main group (or at least have them all put together and not having to scroll your idols for them (who would be in between the members of two differents sister groups)

(1 edit) (+6)

Since the upcoming update can   influence  idols to stay with the group longer. I hope I can convince famous graduated member to join anniversary or special single.

and I also hope there is b-side or coupling song that can choose member to participate too. [ Just like main single but you can choose member for coupling song too ]

(+4)

Another one to add to the list:  It would be quite helpful if we had some sort of ledger / account book where all of the financial info is gathered into one place for easy review, broken down by month. Right now it seems as though I have to hunt around between several different screens to find it, and I don't think revenue for singles and concerts is logged anywhere beyond the individual results screens for each one.

(2 edits) (+5)

A few things I want to add.

*Since there's characters with age number in the game, how about prohibit/ not allowed girls under the age of 18 from partaking any sexy activities or business proposal as this shouldn't be happening realistically.

If this happen, this can result in an instant scandal that could potentially ruined the company such as reduction in sale by 50% or popularity.
This can only occur a certain amount of time like scandals act as warning, after three strike the game is over (such as government official shuts the idol group down due to multiple violation of the law).

That way, the game would be more harder and we have to pay attention to the girls age before assigning them to business proposal that they shouldn't do.

*Having an option whether to be causal in the workplace in business policies, (such as the employees doesn't need to be formal such as no need to say Mr. x
and can just say the player name instead casually) This boost mental points or morale. Or a formal workplace which boost quality.

*Notification sound for completion of task or activities being assigned such and setting to customized which notification we would like to have in the game. Same with business proposal being successful and available to accept

*Add the option to release a single as a standalone CD without anything included (A single album with no photocard, no handshake event no promotion included etc but the downside is risk of lower sale due to lack of marketing).

*Add a rare business proposal where the idol group get to perform at special events such as award ceremony or sports event as special guest. This result in huge rewards but bigger risk.

*New game in sandbox mode which allow players to skip the entire storyline and play casually without the main story just like the current beta state. (But requires the main game to be completed first).

 Optional but too time consuming

*Add some dialogue for the manager to make the conversation a little more smooth, for example after the player choose this option:

Idol: Hi, you wanted to see me?
Manager: Yes, it's about what you said to x.
Idol: Oh, it's regarding the conversion I had with x.
Manager: Yep. I just wanted to let you know that this is all a big misunderstanding and I just want to clarify that we were just discussing about her future at x.

*Increase Starting funds by $2,000,000 on normal difficulty to make it a bit more easier for newer players.

(+2)

I was thinking, maybe a room, appart from the theater, that can help to rise the smart and funny of your Idol might be something quite interesting. Like classrooms with teachers in humour or smart things, I don't know at all, but since they're calculated on the percentage of success of the new promotions, it would be quite nice to do do something with it

If possible at this point, some Nogizaka references would be nice. Seems like everything I see is AKB/Keyakizaka.

(+1)

I was thinking it would be interesting to have a feature where you could buy other idol production companies and absorb them into your group. Maybe have policies set where the idols you get from "buying out" the company either become a sister group or they are managed autonomously and you get a cut of the revenue instead of all of it by taking direct control of the group.

Also, it would be nice if you could set policies for all groups or have different policies for differ sister groups.

Hi I am a new purchaser here

Loving the game so far! Lots of good potential and fun.

I have  beta 19 feedback (directly dealing with this version's concerns) after playing for almost a solid day now:

  • The interface that notifies us that the idol stamina is a bit tiny... it'd be cool if you have some sort of key or feature that allows us to quickly see the detailed status of the idols that are important to us (especially since some of them are quite needy)
  • Better notification system would be super beneficial since it is easy to forget the tasks that are done when playing in a super productive manner (a suggestion I have is to use a notification dot system i.e. red dot for things that are done, yellow dot for things that need our reply such as when managers land deals etc)
  • It gets confusing when trying to choose the stylist in terms of which skill they are best at... can we have some sort of way to customize it for example a sexy/cool stylist can be designated <insert> color? It would also be beneficial for the other roles too so we don't confuse between production and coaching
  • Speaking of coaching, wouldn't it be good to have rooms for education? That way idols can improve their smart and funny stats similar to how they can improve their vocal and dance skills
  • To expand on the above, it could be pretty cool if they also have better chances of getting bonus stars during world tours if they have a higher stat... because so far getting 5 stars in any country is pretty darn hard or at the very least super unclear
  • Currently it is extremely difficult to get any single promotion for the employees... perhaps it is okay to make the growth rate of the employees a bit faster?
  • Some of the achievements are quite troublesome to achieve especially the 6 maxed out stats because idols lose stats as they age and the training time to get some of those back to 100 is tough
  • I think that the manager should have an option of focusing on landing certain types of deals (sexy/cute/pretty/cool) because sometimes, trying to land a specific gig takes years... it also makes sense if we are intending to focus on a specific market but to not have control of this is kind of strange
  • It can be hard to earn money in this game without the Y button haha would it be a good idea to create a merchandise section in the building (similar to how companies do it in real life) in order to have a section that is providing constant base income (I mean we are providing a salary, but there is no constant stream of cash despite making a portfolio)?
  • It would be a very attractive feature to be able to allow us to change the portrait styles of an idol in game (as in, we can change their hair color and type etc) like a simple version of sims when visiting the stylist... people love customization and it isn't going to hurt to have different new skins and styles as DLC content on steam in the future (rather than finding the save file to change stuff up)

Should I make another post on things not related to version 19 but still ideas on the game overall?

Developer

>focusing on landing certain types of deals (sexy/cute/pretty/cool)

You can select Policies -> Vibe and it should affect proposals too. Or are you already doing that and it's still to hard?

>Should I make another post on things not related to version 19 but still ideas on the game overall?

Yeah, of course!

Hi Sadambober,

  • Yea it still takes time even after selecting policies and stuff, the RNG can force me to take a long time to wait to strike the right requirement for some reason... seeing as it is 1/4 it shouldn't be so bad I thought but yea it can be...
  • Actually RNG in general is strange because on my first run through of the game, I made a sister group and encountered a situation where I just never got a gold or black card no matter how many auditions I did (also abandoned that save file due to this issue)... Is that a known problem?

I will play the game some more and then reply back for those ideas. Thank you once again for making this game. I think that it has really good potential!

Developer(+1)

>never got a gold or black card no matter how many auditions I did

Maybe you had too many scandal points? If you hover over the number of your scandal points at the bottom, the tooltip should say if you have any "debuffs"

(+2)

It's be cool if

You could hype up digital releases (as let's be honest when was the last time you bought an actual music CD). In my opinion, hardcopy CDs should be more popular among hardcore fans as it could be considered "merch."

(2 edits)

I think hardcopy CDs are still reeeaaally big in Japan. Still, more promo options for digital releases would be cool- they wouldn't even need to be free, you would still be paying for the advertising, which keeps the balance of only having one no-cost marketing option.

(+1)

Also, the event where someone pretends to be one of your idols and you send a cease-and-desist, it'd be nice to have a follow up option to sue the imposter.

(+1)

Another awesome idea is to have the option to mock the imposter similarly to how we do this with the politicians ahahah

(+3)

Have you debated adding the ability to compile albums in any length? I feel like it could be an advantage to either wrap old singles together into an album, or spend more time and resource to create an album instead of a single.

By wrapping the previous sigles into an album, it may also create a convenient way to select a song if you wanted a specific lead for a concert!

(3 edits) (+3)

Gonna offer up that going from "reach level 2 of promotion" (ie release a first single) to "top the monthly sales chart" (ie sell over a million copies) as requirements for two sequential story beats is way too tall of an order for players since million sellers don't happen within your first year of play unless you REALLY speedrun it and play optimally (Even then it would take a dozen singles or several months and TV drama upgrades to get a million seller)

(Also I get wanting to keep the new features and systems fresh but I'd like to know what they are if I'm supposed to play the game this long to get to the next story part. I was interested in what the new features are but the chart-topper requirement was enough to put me off trying to experience it.)

Developer (1 edit)

You only need ~100,000 sales for this task, so it shouldn't be THAT bad. There are no major new gameplay features, they are more like cute little things you can discover.

(If you really don't want to do this, you can just cheat and F7 -> "Complete all tasks")

(+1)

"You only need ~100,000 sales for this task, so it shouldn't be THAT bad"

hmm well in my game the #1 has never dipped below 900k each month. Is this just a bug on my end?

Developer

Could be a bug or just bad luck. These million sellers should be rare in the early game

(+1)

more than luck, I've been playing the beta since fall of 2019 and the chart topper is consistently a million seller, or near a million over all save files.

Developer

Yeah, it was like that, but should be different now, at least in story mode

I was worried I'd get stuck there because I'd been seeing million sellers topping the list up to that point, but the next month I hit the top of the chart with 200k or so, so I think it's fixed to ensure you get it

(+2)

I don't know if this is a bug or what, but I'm well over a year into my group in story mode and I can not get more than 50k sales tops. Even doing money cheats so I could fire all of the staff and replace them with the highest ranked producer/choreographer/marketing I can't hit the tops sales position and it's a little ridiculous. I actually kind of forgot there was a story mode because it's been so long in game since I've been able to advance it.

(+1)

It took me one to two in-game years and several real life days to move from chapter 1 to chapter 2, and then I went from chapter 2 to chapter 5 in one night. It was odd.

I'm afraid the 'Continue' button in the Main Menu might cause some confusion now that we have two game modes. Maybe it could be beneficial to add some sort of indicator that would allow players to know whether they'd be loading a Story Mode save or a Free Play save upon clicking on 'Continue'.

(+1)

Honestly, it would be better to get rid of weird/nonstandard setup introduced in this update...  On the home screen should be "new game" and "load game"...  "New Game" would offer a choice of modes, and under "load game" the individual save files would show their mode, dates, etc...

(1 edit) (+1)

Some issues I am finding with the new build:

1.) The "random photo" is still on some idols you can hire. Considering this is no longer in the game...(at least Idt it is) not sure if you need to change the bonus or not.  And one idol I did have that had this bonus, said that "negations for photographs are always successful." However, when I "negotiating" it kept failing. I am not sure if this feature was for the assistant who makes the deals or what...but that maybe confusing to new plays who think it's referring to the negotiation button.

2.) Can we PLEASE have a way to advertise digital releases? I remember back in the old builds, we had  this ability (with the fake scandals, etc.) I don't even bother with them anymore b/c unless it's the very beginning of the game when I'm broke, it doesn't help me build the idol group.

3.) So, for the ad campaign, when I release some singles, the spinning wheel no longer pops up. On some releases, it does pop up. I'm sure it's a bug.

4.) I like getting idols with lower stats and building them up (it's just the way I play :P I enjoy it). However, is there a way we can train the idols first before they debut? Like, have the ability to put an idol we hired under training and then do a "debut" campaign or something? This is just an idea that I am sure is not original buttttt I wanted to suggest it XD

5.) I am enjoying the new build so far :) Keep up the good work! I am looking forward to the release.

quote '4.) I like getting idols with lower stats and building them up (it's just the way I play :P I enjoy it). However, is there a way we can train the idols first before they debut? I personally use the sister group functionality for this. I create a 'trainee' group that keeps training until each of them have certain stats at a certain standard, then i move them into another group and let them debut. To get those extra groups i basically game the system by mass-hiring from local auditions to open up extra sister group functionality and firing those mass-hired ones after i created the necessary groups.

So it can be done via workaround currently but i fully agree it would be nice to have this as a common feature like a sister group for a prize in terms of money and limited functionality (no single releases, certain contracts cant be assigned to its members etc).

(1 edit) (+1)

Shouldn't the mods be bound with the save not the whole game?

Would it be better if the mods can be activated per start (when start a new game), while keeping the mod tab in the main menu screen for master activation?

because I would like to have different game saves for different mods, for example, save A for vanilla game, and save for K-Pop mod.

Could we have an option to divorce? I know this is not a decent thing to do, but y'know, gameplay wise it kinda makes sense.

Also, R18 contents seemed too generic and non-interactive right now. The idol in R18 CGs could have layered facial features, hairstyles and clothing just like the standing pictures. And we could have more choices, routes and varieties in terms of R18 scenes and gameplay. I know it's not a dating sim, but it's always nice to have everything as detailed and developed as possible if decided to be implemented in the first place. The variety of aspects, possibilities and gameplay functionalities is one of the biggest strong points of this game IMO and I rate this game above all other similar titles simply because of this. I'd love to be surprised even more.

Edit: Some new thoughts. It doesn't make sense that the songs can't be produced simultaneously by the producer, manager, coach, etc. This is not realistic. Also, the collection of idols can be further expanded. After a while it gets pretty repetitive at current state.

Love the new stories and dating system tho. Keep up the great work.

(WARNING: spoilers for the ending of the rival's route. I don't think itch has spoiler tags, unfortunately. Beware, those who have not finished the rival's route of the main story.)

1. Out of sheer morbid curiosity, I romanced an idol and then went on to pick the sex tape option for the rival route. I'm surprised that the idol I romanced didn't acknowledge it, and in the case of marrying her (which I assume means the relationship goes public), surprised that it wasn't more of a scandal or outright career-ender. Was that overlooked, or will it be added later, or was it not included for simplicity's sake?

2. This is more of a self-indulgent suggestion that might be out of the game's scope, but would it be possible to romance the rival? Maybe as a post-1.0 DLC or update? I find the rival's chemistry with the player incredibly compelling and I'd love to have something a bit more permanent than the apparent one-off at the end of the rival's route. Unless more rival events happen in chapter VII, in which case I'm a dunce.

3. Some of the idols' dialogue when you fail to influence them to delay graduation feel unnecessarily harsh. I had one accuse me of never caring about her, and that felt a bit over the top considering I had level 4 friendship with her. Just say you owe me nothing more lmao. Maybe the possible dialogue could be based on friendship and/or romance level? "You never cared about me anyway" feels a lot more appropriate if you only have level 0-1 relationship with the idol.

Lastly: I love this game so much. Even if you ignore all the above, I still think this is a damn good game with a damn good story.

Developer

>Some of the idols' dialogue when you fail to influence them to delay graduation feel unnecessarily harsh

This actually sounds like a bug, I'll check

I hope in the final version, we will have some kind of Achievements page that tells us which endings we've gotten/need to get still, and give us a completion percent for other things like conversations between idols (assuming those are random every game.) Even better might be some kind of plot branch flowchart that shows which choices we haven't made at each chapter?

Anyways, the game and writing is great so far! Very excited to get more endings!

If this is already in the game, ignore me!

Can we fill in the senbatsu election spots to 15?

Can we have rooms to increase smart and funny?

I like the idea of being able to change the girls' outfits and hair. Maybe that can have something to do with the stylist?

You can change a girl's looks, once you've hired a stylist, by clicking on the stylist icon (pair of scissors)at the bottom of the screen.

I've been following Idol Manager since the Kickstarter campaign in March 2018 and finally played it around 3-4 months ago, and I love it. The new story update (although broken for me as I keep crashing whenever talking to my rival in chapter 4) adds a lot of content and replay value to the game. The direction the game is heading is great and I can't wait for its official release, but I think I want to add my feedback and suggestions to the mix:

- Staff should have their own personal traits like what the idols have. For example, a Dance Coach that has faster training time with idols over the age of 21, etc. It would also be nice to be able to choose an individual trait for my character.

- I think Staff should have their own satisfaction bar or ask for raises as your company gets more buzz. In my opinion it would be crazy for staff to be willing to work for a multi-million dollar company while earning way below the minimum wage.

- a PR manager would be a cool addition as a new type of staff that you can use to try to generate buzz, passively reduce the chances for scandals, or even create scandals to earn scandal points.

- A dedicated button in the bottom right to see list or graphs showing the growth of the company, income, fans, etc. and see the sales of songs or see songs that went gold, platinum, etc.

- This might be out of the scope of the game, but I feel like streaming should have more depth to it than just being a simple policy. It would be cool that I have an idol become a dedicated streamer that promotes music, etc. Or even have the chance to make one of my idols become a virtual idol in the same vein as Hololive or Kizuna Ai.

Can 'Reality' be a Genre for Media? Like a reality show? It can attract Hardcore, Female, Young Adult or Hardcore, Female , Teen?

(+3)

1) View stats when members graduate (don't really know whether I want to push an idol's graduation back when I don't know their stats; also would love to see money made and other detailswhen idol actually graduates)

2) Easier way to see member’s wishes (auto-talk) (once I have a lot of idols, checking wishes individually becomes tedious)

3) See existing contracts when doing business proposals (see whether idol stamina cost per week/how many shows and contracts already has)

4) Action cards become something if unused
5) Excess research points (after maxed out all choreo/genre, want to do something with it)
6) Election benefits (more than just fame, possibly company assigned, affect girl's mental stamina in long run)
7) Sort by number of fans
8) Show sister group with most fans
9) Randomly assign proposals
10) Dishes transfer with girls (if member changes group, dish stays with the other sister group)
11) Show election rank on profile
12) Easier to see idols on hiatus
13) show time in company
14) Number of members by sister group name
15) Stats on formation
16) Sort by overall stats
17) Don’t auto replace if on hiatus
18) Upgrade spa - more members, more stamina
19) Singles continue to sell

20) See which members are close to winning awards (hard to keep track of variety show/pretty queen)

21) show what audience sister group is targetting

22) more promotional stuff (release group videos)

23) easier training (training is pretty tedious right right now especially with a lot of girls, maybe be able to assign training by sister group)

"See existing contracts when doing business proposals (see whether idol stamina cost per week/how many shows and contracts already has) "

i have played this game mostly in relaxed mode but i have a couple of things that would make me enjoy the game even more;

- it would be nice if you can make a group even if you dont have 10 members, or at least after you unlocked the first sister group talk

- for the sake of telling girls apart (if youre like me and run companies with 10 groups) it would be nice if you could give girls member colours that show up as their name font colour and/or as a dot or line on their small picture

- and i know this one would be a huge thing to implement so i dont expect much of it, but it would be nice if you could swap outfits so you can make groups look cohesive without going through 50 auditions to find similar girls of good stats. another way is to allow the player to select which kind of girls to get in that audition (and save that until its changed again)

- it would be great help if you could hire someone to write lyrics

I agree with everything! However, for the last one, you can make Production/or Sales Managers write lyrics if they're max level. :D

I want to recommend an option to release something like a mini album or a full album because that would be really interesting. But also, it could shoot you through the rankings! :)

(+4)

Actually. I might as well put down all of the suggestions and ideas I have.

  • An ability to do a promotional period. Where they can promote on shows and do performances.
  • An option to pick to release a mini-album that will take longer to make than a single. It could make you more money.
  • An option to pick to release a full-album.
  • An option to add a Music video alongside which can have a budget slider for how much you're willing to spend on the MV.
  • An ability to create your own genre that can grow in the industry.
  • An ability to buy a license to cover another artist's song that can earn you more fans from the fanbase.
  • A situation where a former idol will accuse another idol of bullying and harassment.
  • An ability to release songs in other languages (like how K-Pop have English and Japanese Releases to help reach out to a larger fanbase)

Big agree on albums and music videos.

Found some time to play through the story mode: It was fun, actually! I played the: (spoiler)

Olympics ending through Fujimoto's route and Aya's genre challenge. Not the most exciting route/end I'm sure, but I know I missed the obvious Phantom Facade route (Btw it was a great little moment when the UI and music changed upon their debut, made me perk up at 2AM.) There was some great artwork and genuinely interesting talks along the way. If I could suggest some changes for the story web, it'd be either A) A visible tree where we can see the number of endings, the branches, and where we are now/where we've been B) Choice flags you can always return to C) A new game plus that lets you continue after your end with the same resources you have, just reset to an earlier point in the story so you can see the different routes without having to start from scratch

General suggestions are the same as others have noted:

  • Ability to create albums/EPs with multiple songs
  • PVs as a separate system
  • Bigger formation size
  • More Election slots to go along with this
  • WCenter capability
  • Ability to designate workers to only work with assigned sister groups, sister group concerts, etc
  • Ability to do more than one type of marketing with a single
  • Plus I always like the idea of subgenres from earlier in the beta, would keep things fresh if you could put research into them, too

I also like the format of preparing for the Olympic bid: I'd love to see more "missions" like that.

Enhanced sorting capabilities
The current sorting is done based on one stats of the idols. However, this doesn't seem to be very useful in actual play. It would be useful to be able to sort by the overall value of a few selected stats, or by a number, such as the "overall rating" of an audition.

Staff Training
For example, coaches and producers hired early in the game often become useless as the group then expands rapidly. In the current version of the game, it is reasonable to fire such personnel and hire experts. However, staff events make it psychologically difficult to fire them. So why not allow players to invest research points to build facilities and programs that improve the skills of their staff?

Automated Decision Making
Business proposals are important to the specifics of the game, but as the game progresses and the number of idols increases, so does the volume and complexity. Is it possible to set up an automated policy to handle this in a secure way?

Here is some ideas I have!

- A leader system, where you can pick a member to be the leader. That member will be extremely careful around scandals, and if any of the other members get into a scandal it will hurt the leader’s mental stamina. The leader will be most likely to report any bullying and concerns (like dating, etc) to the player. Also the leader will have a big role within the media. If the group gets into a lot of scandals, the leader’s reputation will be bad. If the group has a lot of good singles, the leader’s reputation will be good.

- A center system. Where you pick the main center of the group. The center will be seen as the face of the  group. If the center is doing well in a single, the song will be extremely popular. If the center isn’t in the single or isn’t (at least) in the top three rows, the single will flop.

- A subunit system. I understand we already have sister groups, but subunits are mini groups that we can have for a temporary amount of time. The units can promote outside of the country and receive attention.

- Concerts. In concerts whenever we have a “talk break” we should have the option of what the talk break will be about. Like if it’s a comedy based break, a short talent break, or anything really!

- Foreign members. These members will bring in a lot of attention internationally, but will cause slight tension within the home-country about the foreigners. If there is too much foreign members, you will have a possibility of losing hardcore fans.

- Graduation concerts. Every time one of my members leave, I always want to host a concert surrounding them!

- A “parody” genre / lyrics. These type of songs will gain a lot of hardcore fans. However, depending on your center’s feeling about the song can either make or break the song.

- Music videos! Someone here had an amazing idea for music videos.

- A generation system. (however you can decide whether or not you wish to have said system) Similar towards Morning Musume. Whereas every year or two, members will graduate and you eventually have to search for new members. Each time a member graduates you will lose hardcore fans. You can release a goodbye single, have a graduation concert, and release merchandise surrounding the member.

- Mini albums, full albums.

- Trainee competition  show, where you can search for new members of the group.  You can also have the option of having viewers vote on their favorite trainee or you can swap trainees and pick your favorite one. The trainee competition show can bring attention to your group and also internationally.

- Updates on the shows! When you have a show, you can have comments on the episodes per week. Also you can decide how many episodes the show receives and can renew it for more seasons.

- Dorms, we can have a dormitory system. If there’s concern for a idol’s privacy, we can have a dorm for the idols. This can help increase friendships and decrease bullying.

That’s it, thank you!

(1 edit)

It's been suggested once before in this thread, but I'd like to comment in support of keyboard shortcuts.

Recovering from carpal tunnel syndrome myself, the amount of precision clicking is quite straining during long periods of play.

Even if it's just limited to a few hotkeys for the different main menus, it would be a huge quality of life improvement.

(+1)

I'm sure people have mentioned this before, but I think it'd be cool to be able to romance the other main characters (Fujimoto, Aya, and the rival)

I know this is quite a late suggestion, but working on new, custom events for the game has made me think of something: is it currently possible to create custom concert scenarios using the game's modding tool? You know,  the ones that pop up during concerts, like an idol's heel being broken or the camera being shaky, that sort of scenario. In case creating those isn't possible at the moment, it would be pretty cool if there was a way for players to create those.

Other than that, I'm just rooting for a pretty comprehensible modding tool upon launch, along with an equally comprehensible manual. The software as it is right now already does a great job, but having access to more variables to use in our dialogues and events so we could have even more diverse effects with our custom content would be awesome.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yeah, you can add this file to your mod "JSON/SpecialEvents/Concert/accidents.json" and these events will be added to the default ones

If you want to remove the default events from the game and only use your own events, you'll need to add "accidents" to the ignore list

It works like this for most files in the JSON folder

can you make it so that the game pauses time when the hit records and scandals pop up.

(+1)

i kinda want a route with the nation of idols judges LOL

Of course you do xD

(+1)

Quick suggestion: how about a click-and-hold, instead of a simple click, for buying research points (kinda like clicking and holding for spending research points)? Especially because the button for purchasing research points is located right next to the staffers' icons, it can be easy to misclick and accidentally end up buying research points (I totally didn't just do that, by the way), and once you do that, the prices are permanently increased, which can be somewhat dangerous.

(+2)

On the topic of tasks: it would be nifty to have an 'X' button to dismiss any secondary tasks we don't intend on fulfilling, instead of just leaving them there taking space for no good reason.

(+1)

Hi there. loving the game so far.

Checkbox option for the detail screen to repeat the currently queued activities in that exact order. When clicking on one of the 3 activities at the top it will be slotted in as next in line, but should not be added to the saved repeat queue. Slot increase to 8, so we could do a clean Promo x3 , Spa x1, Perf x3, Spa x1 rotation.

Increase (mouse wheel) scroll speed for the tasks if there are that many open.

"Stat tracking" for Idols, to see how much they improved, or got worse over the last year in each stat. Maybe a popup event at the end of the year for review as well.

If it's not a thing already: If coaching is maxed out, increase in training speed for idols.

Possibility to send staff on courses/trainings to get better in one of their two stats. Staff will not be available during that time.

Additional auto policy: If physical stamina is below x%, don't partake in any "unnecessary" work -> Theater, Cafe, Media, Training, maybe not get selected for jobs/proposals as well.

Queueing for producers office: If Idols finish their current task, they will immediately head over for a date, or wait until the producers current task is done.

If I cancel an Idols current task, auto tasks shouldn't be disabled.

Detailed log in Idols profile to see, when and where they spent/gained stamina. Plus a weekly tally.

There's no Media Genre that boosts young adults.

Additional option for Idol salaries to keep them at 100% satisfaction. If on manual -> get a message from your office to tell you someone isn't >= 100% satisfied.

Better visual queues for completed tasks on singles/media/events. Maybe instead of the green dot, highlight the complete button in green and keep it that way, until the task has been handed to the next staffer to work on, or has been released.

Option to release singles/media/events at a specific date.

Option to manually set the media show times. Daily/Weekly/Monthly, on which Day(s), maybe timeslot -> Morning, Midday, Afternoon, Evening, Night

Paradox Interactive style options for tasks/events. E.g.: If a task for a single is finished it can automatically stop time, switch to the menu, etc.

Loading from within a game sometimes doesn't work.

Keep up the good work and cheers.

maybe there could be a random pregnancy event where you can choose to hide or reveal it and raise them (possibility for a twin) to become a staff member or an idol... also maybe you could add a host male staff member in the theater or an actual media recording room since all I see are female staff members it kind of makes the producer look like a womanizer tbh... well these idea's are just based on an idol manga that I've read so no worries

(+3)

Just so you know, the staffer who works in the recording studio is a guy. Took me almost three whole years to notice that.

I've thought about it a lot and I've come to only one conclusion

add virtual idols... or atleast virtual programs Xd

(+2)

I would like to make a few suggestions!

First of all, i think its a must to put albums in the game

second, i think you should be able to choose what to call your fans

i think it would also be cool to be able to schedule events for the idols, like a meet and greet or autograph signing, performing in festivals and small stuff like that

It would also be nice to have some more outfit choices lol

and the last suggestion i have is the ability to assign the idols roles like leader, main vocalist, main rapper, etc

Hi there.

I'm a Kickstarter backer that only started playing the game over the weekend and after putting ~20 hours into the game, I have a lot of thoughts. Overall, I'm impressed and think you guys have a potentially great game on your hand. That said, I do have many suggestions to flesh the game out and I do know that some features are missing due to time constraints. I read through some of the above suggestions by other members and ended up with a list of other people's suggestions I agree with (with my own spin on them) as well as my own suggestions. Note that this ended up being so much longer than I anticipated that I split this into several sections, including minor QoL changes first and more general suggested gameplay features later.

General minor QoL changes I'd like to suggest

  • Biggest QoL complaint/potential bug: when an idol is doing an automated task (let's say automated dancing lessons) and then you cancel the task (say, your idol is losing mental health and she needs to see a doctor asap), this cancels the automated task for the staff as a whole so you'll have to manually find the staff and then set him on automated again.
  • There needs to be better QoL for looking at stamina per week, since it's a top 3 most important number to keep track of. That way, you can quickly know which members are underworked and which ones are overworked, since any idol that is overworked will almost inevitably spiral to depression + hiatus within a couple weeks and you need to know about it asap. On the other hand, I end up with many idols who aren't working at all that I need to know about so I can find them work.
    • I'd go as far as suggest making "stamina per week" on the same level as "physical stamina" and "mental stamina" honestly. Just make it appear next to them as a third number and make it easily viewable. As an example, when evaluating whether for a girl to take on an advertisement or a drama role, current stamina per week is critical and you have to hover and then right click and then manually add up how much commitment she currently has.
    • The "details" tab that gives you an overview of your group currently has something that says "Idols low on physical stamina: 19" should have the same for idols that are overworked (eg committing to 120+ stamina/week through contracts and shows and possibly the cafe combined). On a related note, it'll be nice if instead of just listing the number, it also lists the names.
    • When an idol is hosting a show and graduates, there should be a setting you can toggle for how to deal with it. I definitely had idols suddenly taking on a ton of extra work through shows and whatnot when another idol graduated and then went on mental hiatus before I even realized what was happening.
  • Forgive me if I missed it, but is the information of when an idol joined the group displayed anywhere? This is definitely one of my biggest QoL requests and I think it should be fairly simple to implement. Also, I wish there's a way of viewing past election rankings to see how the group evolved over time.
  • It's weird to me that any platonic, strictly business meeting is called a date and doubly so if the girl is underage. I'd prefer if you call it a "meeting" if flirtation level is below 2 and a "date" if its 2 or above.
  • Staff training (you pay $$$ and they don't do work for a period of time but would come back ranked up in something) would be super useful, since I'm not sure how to max out both stats otherwise. Most staff are encouraged to specialize.
  • The math for average recent earnings per week is wrong. I think you are dividing total career earnings by 4 or something? Average recent earnings ends up being sort of a nonsensical number now and instead you need to calculate "recent earnings" (presumably meaning how much earned last month). See below:

Now onto the gameplay and feature suggestions. For me, the three biggest core issue right now are

  1. Idols and especially songs don't hold much emotional weight. My long time center of 4 years graduated and it felt like a non-event. One day she was there and the next she's not. Even worse with songs. I've recorded maybe 200 singles and I can barely tell them apart, which dampens the immersion of the game. As an example, AKB48 has its signature members like Atsuko Maeda, etc that the public knows as well as general hits like Heavy Rotation and Koisuru Fortune Cookie as well as a "theme song" in Aitakatta, etc.  It would be nice after a playthrough to replicate this experience and come out remembering the key members and key songs that define the group.
  2. The core gameplay loop of releasing singles and holding concerts as the main events you do over and over gets stale fast. I was releasing around 8-9 singles per year per group and around 5-6 concerts per year because the game encourages you to do that to play optimally (the cooldown is 1 month + there's the most prolific group reward). It's pretty nuts imagining a casual audience ever supporting a group with 8-9 singles per year and even a hardcore audience would be burnt out. Instead, the game should introduce albums, have a longer cooldown for singles (2 months) and an album-based promotional cycle that mixes up the gameplay loop.
  3. In my opinion, trying to balance the game between being a more realistic economic sim and a dating sim ends up detracting from both. As a dating sim, it's totally arbitrary which girls are datable and I don't really get how flirting works since it's total luck. To maintain balance for a female protagonist, a ton of girls are like lesbian/bisexual or something and it ends up feeling like half the girls in my group are in a giant lesbian orgy, which just seems fetishy and unrealistic when played as a realistic, economic sim. I'd suggest splitting them into two separate modes to keep both sides happy.

My suggested features for how to deal with these core gameplay issues (especially 1 and 2):

  • Promotional cycle.  Right now, the game's optimally designed to be played by spamming singles and concerts (there's a cooldown of a month), which is unrealistic and devalues the worth of each single. Then after a single is released, it's immediately forgotten, since it seemingly only sells copies on launch date and there's no incentive to promote it. My suggestions for an alternative system:
    • Introduce the concept of albums, which at its simplest can be a collection of singles (maybe 4+ singles) and could also include non-singles songs. It's important to strategically choose each song that makes up an album and they can get specific themes that tie the whole album together.
    • Revamp the system by increasing the cooldown between singles to at least 2 months.
      • One possibility is releasing double sided singles with an A-side and B-side, which is how most singles are traditionally released.
    • It's 2021, so I think it's worth making streaming revenue a more integral part of sales.
    • How well a single sells and streams depend on how much promotion it receives and how well an album sells depends on how much promotion the  main singles collectively get.
  • You can promote a single/album through the following means:
    • Hosting fan events
      • Promoting them at concerts. You should be encouraged to play your latest single at concerts.
      • Promoting them at cafe/shows/theatre. If there's an option to set what songs gets played, you should be promoting there at any of your venues.
      • Handshake events. Each single/album contains tickets to a later handshake event. Already in the game, but could be fleshed out as a separate event where you can choose which members participate (popular members will be more in demand, but you might want to conserve their stamina).
      • Meet-and-greet. Similar to handshake events. Event where you buy a single/album directly from the band.
    • Promoting them at invited events and gigs. Like a mini-concert, except you are invited to perform 2 songs at someone else's venue for a fixed fee, with each venue would differ by genre and demographic preference and some are in foreign countries. You'd be encouraged to think strategically on what you want to play and you don't have to play new singles. Some examples:
      • Variety shows. Bread and butter of song promotion in Japan. Each would have a different target demographic (teen, young-adult, adult).
      • Music shows. Similar to variety shows. Each would have a different target demographic (teen, young-adult, adult).
      • Music festivals. Each music festival has a different genre (metal, pop, R&B, rock, etc).
      • Nerd conventions. Hardcore song appeal.
      • Natural disaster relief concerts. Doesn't pay, but you can gain higher opinion among the public along with lots of fans and erase scandal points.
      • Idol Award Show. If you win or are nominated at the end of the year idol award show, it only makes sense that they would invite your group to perform.
      • Kohaku Uta Gassen. Annual NHK event that is the most prestigious concert show in Japan and draws the highest rating across all TV for the entire year. Being invited to perform there is a sign that an artist has "made it". The show pits the biggest male acts against the biggest female acts and there's a "winner" at the very end, which makes it perfect for Idol Manager.
    • Theme songs. This is sort of like your office manager finding work in the wider industry for your idols, but instead of idols, you look to promote your singles. For example, a new TV drama or an anime is looking for an opening theme and might use your single if it matches the demographics they targeting. If a drama or anime blows up, your single could potentially blow up with it. Eg look at Gurenge by LiSA, which is one of the biggest songs in Japan right now thanks to Demon Slayer becoming the biggest thing ever.
      • A moe anime would want a more hardcore-oriented song.
      • A prime time TV drama would want a more casual-oriented appeal.
    • PVs. I think a PV should be its own thing, since it's so critical to a single's success. Heavy Rotation's PV was infamous and drew a ton of controversy and media attention, which led the songs making headlines.
      • Film studios. A suggestion for a new building with an acting coach that can be used to do 2 things:
        • Teaching acting, like how singing and dancing coaches teaches those skills respectively
        • Used to film PVs for your singles. The PVs will have a bunch of styles like lewd, horror, etc that are currently tied to marketing and it's reception can depend on how good the acting abilities of the girls are. If it's too cheesy and weird, it could harm reception.
      • Acting would be its own skill for shooting PVs and also affects the following:
        • How much they are paid and gain fans on variety shows and TV dramas
        • How well they do in theatre or TV shows you launch
        • How much hype they build during talk breaks during concerts.
  • Cultural, lasting impact of your songs/albums. The opposite of a promotional period of playing new singles is playing the old fan favorites that your fanbase and the general public wishes to hear you perform over and over. These are the songs considered "iconic" like AKB48's Heavy Rotation for example. Sales (especially initial sales) are a bad metric of popularity thanks to handshake events and other gimmicks. Heavy Rotation is outsold by Teacher Teacher, but it's obvious which one is AKB48's more iconic and popular song. Some suggestions:
    • Streaming charts (or alternatively, radio/karaoke charts). A chart of your most streamed songs would be super useful and give you a sense of what your group's signature songs are. I notice that streaming's apparently already in the game in the form of royalty revenue, so it would be nice to see how much each song contributes to streaming.
      • The long term streaming appeal depends a lot on how much it was originally promoted, the long term popularity of the original center, as well as the current trends in taste.
      • In the same way that songs with hardcore appeal are more likely to sell handshake tickets, songs with casual appeal are more likely to do better in streaming/radio/karaoke.
    • Song/album of the year. Just like the idol awards, it'll be cool to have your songs and albums win awards, which can give it a boost in sales, streaming and lasting value.
    • Signature songs.
      • Any song that became wildly popular when it was new. Eg Heavy Rotation by AKB48.
      • Any songs attached to a popular TV drama/anime. Eg Too many examples. Gurenge by LiSA (Demon Slayer) as I mentioned earlier.
      • Any songs attached to a specific idol that's gotten popular. Eg Koisuru Fortune Cookie for Rino Sashihara.
      • Your idol group's "theme" song that you play for the group's TV shows. Eg Aitakatta is a very good AKB48 example.
      • Graduation song. A song tied to graduation concerts like Sakura no Hanabiratachi by AKB48.
    • Songs with deeper and more meaningful lyrics. Generally songs that have deeper and more meaningful lyrics have a better chance of remembered long-term than some party songs. These songs might not sell as well as party songs initially, but they can pick up awards and have longer memorability. Eg 365 Nichi no Kamihikouki by AKB48.
  • Specializing concerts. Right now, each concert is fairly similar and you can get away with programming almost every concert with the same music and still make a lot of money. I think by specializing concerts, you can make them more unique with more effort to design each concert.
    • Graduation concerts. When a key member (like voted top 5 in the election) and especially a center graduates, it should be a major event and the game should give you the option of holding a graduation concert. Gameplay-wise, the graduation concert should be more expensive to produce but have increased ticket sales determined by the members popularity. You should be encouraged to select songs that were centered by the graduated member as well as those that hold emotional value (her first song with the group, her first center, etc) and the concert ends with her and/or her closest friends giving a short speech of their time in the group as well as a montage of her evolution/history/stat changes with the group.
    • Anniversary concerts. Every 5 years or so, you can stage an anniversary concert. It'll be a like a normal concert but with an emphasis on older, classic songs and the option of inviting graduated members back.
    • Charity concerts. Concert for charity, where you don't make much money. Instead, gain good public PR and reduce your scandal points, gain fans and increase public opinion towards your group and the idols.
    • Seasonal concerts. For example, a Christmas concert or a summer beach concert, with music to capture the theme.
    • Request hour. Elections for songs. Fans can submit what songs they want to hear.
    • Encore. It'll be cool to designate a song as the "encore" that provides 2x hype.  Usually some sort of classic recognizable theme.
  • Better QoL with idol's history and graduated idols. I feel like this is more an extended QoL update I mentioned but could add so more life to these girls. I wish:
    • Like I said earlier, would greatly appreciate if we can see the date when a girl joins the group and maybe their initial stats (to see how far she's come).
    • Each girl having a "favorite song" that they like to perform (most likely one where they are a center or holds an important position).
    • "Snapshots" of what the group looks like at the start of every year to see how the members evolve.  Sometimes I get nostalgic and want to remember what the group looked like when they started off.
    • Graduated idols retain their profile and their picture (I don't get why these are removed). I have trouble with the names and I often forget just who these girls are.
    • It'll also be really cool if we can invite graduated girls back for special anniversary related events (Lots of idol groups do this).
  • Solo and sub-units. Similar to sister groups, but solo debuts and sub-units within an idol group.
  • Other ideas for big events
    • "Battle of the bands". Some kind of competition between various idol groups could be cool, where you have to do specific tasks or release specific songs or give specific performances to win.
    • Audition competition shows. This is like auditions combined with the spectacle of TV.  This would cost money and effort to stage, but it will also draw in fans and the winners will be a guaranteed "gold idols" that starts of with multiple stars of fame and a built in fanbase.
    • Janken tournament. Similar to AKB48's famous rock-paper-scissors tournament.
  • Assistant producer/dedicated lyricist. I know you are trying to channel Akimoto, but it's kind of weird for the producer to be spending most of his time writing lyrics. Either having an assistant producer that can do everything the producer can do outside of socializing with the girls or having a dedicated lyricist that's hired entirely to write lyrics.
  • Merchandise. You should be able to launch specific merchandise related to your idol group for an additional revenue stream
    • Dating sims. AKB48 actually launched several of these for hardcore fans and the girls had to go to the studio to film specific scenes so they were fairly serious projects.
    • Manga/anime. I think AKB48 had a couple mangas like AKB49 that were serialized in popular magazines as well as the AKB0048 anime that featured the full cast.
    • Mobile games and apps. Again, for hardcore fans.
    • Clothing (t-shirts, caps, etc). Pretty general appeal overall.

Ok, this list went on way too long, but those are some ideas I can think of to flesh out the game. Keep up the good work!

(+2)

i really like your suggestions, especially since the game does get stale if you play it long enough.

(+5)

I think the issue is the core gameplay loop, which boils song to single --> single --> single --> single, with the odd concert here and there, which is made worse with sister groups (across all my groups, I was pumping like a single a week). This can make gameplay feel stale after a while so I'd hope the dev can think of something to mix the gameplay loop with other elements.

If there's any one feature to prevent staleness that I really wish the devs add, it's graduation concerts. I think it shouldn't be too difficult and would spice up mid to late game a lot, when your key idols are graduating, Plus you'll get a great, memorable and custom send-off for each of the important girls.

Loving the game so far but there is some difficulty that I am having with the game.

One of my more basic problems is pausing and playing. I would like it if the game remembers the speed I have when I pause. So when I unpause it would put me back to 2x speed again.

On top of that, I think the game should pause every time I enter the sidebar menu.

I would also like a button on the detail page that just queue up a do-nothing day. It for when I don't want to spend money on a spa day but also don't want to work my idol. So I think a rest day queue would be great. It really awkward to have to stop your queue and remember to queue again just to take a 1-day break.

I also think that having color icons would be more beneficial or just a larger icon, in general, would be better. Not only is the icon small but they all share the same color that blends in too much.

Singles, shows, and events that are still in production that still needs to be work on should up in the empty space of detail for easy dragging. I think that the empty should be utilized for making the gameplay experience less tedious. While it is very simple to click on singles and drag it in, having all the information available on the detail screen makes for faster gameplay.

(+2)

It'd be pretty awesome if we got to have male idols along with the female idols since we have the option to choose between a male and female manager (unless someone already made or is currently making a mod for this already?).

(1 edit) (+1)

I'm not sure if anyone has talked about this before, so apologies if I'm repeating any ideas.

But I think the awards show is a little hard to follow which groups got which awards. I think a TV screen or something that displays each category and slowly reveals the winners would be really exciting and also easier to understand the winners for each category!

EDIT: I think it would be nice if the rarity of the girls (silver, gold, etc) was listed somewhere in their profiles for future reference.

I think it would be cool to have more options for social media and more ways to manage it. It would be a way to engage the fans and maybe for them to get to know the idols better. Kind of like a youtube channel.

(+2)

I really agree with merch! As a long time wota, I owe my being broke to idol merch. and on that note, and I just started the game so if this is already a thing, I'm sorry, but member colors!! or the option of having member colors! with bonuses where girls desire a certain color as a wish, or get a small bonus from having their favorite colors... colors giving small stat buffs (pink being cute, yellow energetic, blue being cool etc)
and if there is a generation system implemented, new members looking up to their senpai or wanting to inherit their color!

loving the game so far!!

A randomize function for creating main character & company names  at the start of a new game would be appreciated.

YES THIS I was really upset there wasn't a random button and that I had to think of a name

(+2)(-8)

I want to flirt with my loli idols T_T

(+2)

I don't think Steam would let that slide xD

Do you have plans for mod support?

(+1)

It'd be great if you could start planning a date with an idol without interrupting their current activity. Balance-wise this changes nothing since you can just pause the game, cancel the activity, start planning, and reassign the idol, but it'd be a big QoL improvement.

The character's talent is more fun to keep secret for a few months.

If check immediately at the time of audition, use Research Points.

It's a good idea, but I think it should be decided by options or difficulty settings.

I don't want to hire people with negative traits, even in the platinum class.

I think that a good producer can detect the characteristics from a little word and action without any special investigation. (Actually, the idol's comment at the time of joining is determined by the characteristics)

SPOILERS:

After nation of idols my idol that I had max relationship with was not happy and just insta left it feels kind of of out of context, being that she did not say anything about our relationship. There should be a way to at least make her stay with influence since you can do that with regular graduating idols.

Other then that so far I enjoy the game.

(+1)

i think it would be pretty cool if we had an option to add makeup to our idols, just like how we can choose their outfits.

Deleted 2 years ago

Gonna throw my hat in as opposing this one. I think it's relevant to the current day. That said, it's something that almost certainly needs to go for German sales to be a thing (sigh), and I'm sure an option somewhere to turn these sorts of things off may be appreciated by some.

I think child fans can be added to the demographics in the game since there are some idols that are 12 (or under if you make your own) and here’s how you can get them!

1. Performing at kid’s concerts( casual or hardcore)

2. Promoting products for kids such as toys( can either be male or female and casual)

3. Modeling for children’s clothes(casual but mostly female)

4. Children’s music can be a new song genre(not talking about nursery rhymes!) But you can make song covers from anime for kids such as Yume wo kanaete  Doraemon, theme songs from the Pretty Cure franchise and more

5. Have them be featured in anime or manga for the kiddos

6. In the cafe, you can serve food for kids or a kids menu

And that is all have!

Fun fact: IRL some idols have kids for fans, for example, During Prizmmy’s final concert one of their pictures feature them with there fans (with most being children and teens)

Prizmmy has a younger demographic

Is there a way to make an event unlock a body/face/accessory ? I've seen a post speak about a ignore.json but I see no reference to it in the Idol Manager Editor and I've seen no example of it in the workshop mods; so I was wondering if we maybe make it ignore say 0.png from a given folder if variable != x or y ( then modify say variable in the event Effect.

Developer(+1)

Not possible right now, but I'll try to think of a way to implement this

Thanks, that would be amazing. ^_^

1. i think it's a good QoL improvement to add a full screen view mode to the idol tab.

2. there should be an option in auto practice and styling to not continue train/style idol on their maxed potential stat, or make it so we can set minimum/maximum practice/style requirement for each idol. (on a sidenote, i can't tick which visual parameter for each idol to focus on, is this a bug or there's something im missing?)

3. each tab should be able to keybinded for ease of use.

4. the spinning wheel in the concert should be skippable or fast forwarded,  it gets really repetitive after a while.

5. idols stats as a staff if you recruit them after graduating should be based off their stats(semi randomized) or each idol should have a hidden staff skill parameter.

6. maybe not necessary, but i think in the late game there should be more of a challenge even in normal mode, especially in the leaderboard, there's certainly a point where the game feels finished and its kinda pointless to keep going because no one can challenge you anymore, ofc this disrupts the "power fantasy" so this might not be a 100% good change for all players.

great game, definitely have potential to be awesome! do you guys intend to add full mod support in the future?

Item #2 is already a thing. There are three policies you can apply to your group to limit auto-training based on minimum attribute value, maximum attribute value and idol stamina.

(1 edit)

Unfortunately no, #2 isn't yet a thing; the policies allow you to set arbitrary global cap at 20, 50 or 80 points, but there's no option to stop training given idol once she hits her specific potential in given skill. Which would be useful to have, as training beyond the potential takes 10x longer.

Can you guys add a method to get alot of fans. Something like marketing campaigns where you can pay high amounts of cash to get some fans. Really would make the late game more enjoyable. Btw nerf concerts and the mental health is kinda buggy, you can give the idols 1 yen per week and they still work like they normal do.

(1 edit) (+2)

Hi, from playing the game for 22 hours this week there are some things I think should be added or changed or added.

  • The dialogue with the idols can get kinda stale like the gossip and rumours stay the same for a really long time it would be nice if there was a little more to it?

  • MORE OUTFITS. It would be cool if the girls got more outfit choices the higher their cool, cute, smart, sexy, and pretty scores were. Like some girls only have one accessory and the lack of customization just makes them all look too similar. So it would be nice to diversify.

  • It would be cool to have male idols as well but I understand that is a lot harder to implement since the game has already been released. Maybe a DLC idea for the future?

  • Something I find really annoying is in the cafe it splits up the group menus. I feel like the menus overall should be shared so it is easier to navigate because I can't list menu items from one group on some days and then the other group on other days if that makes sense. Also, it says that the second group can be part of the main group in activities and songs and stuff so why not in the cafe/ menu.

  • Maybe displaying the picture of idols that have graduated just cause its nice to see what they used to look like and stuff.

  • Other ways to gain stamina back? I usually have to put girls on hiatus because their stamina drains a lot and the spa isn't good enough. I also have a break room and doctor but it still takes ages. I think in the later game another building or something could be added maybe?

1. The profits from the concert are so good.

In difficult difficulty level, it would be good to debuff the profits.

I think it would be good to set a narrow ticket price range.

2. Underground idols rely on performance revenue. I hope to maintain management with minimum performance revenue.

AD or Photograph is a big event for underground idols. Maybe it's an opportunity to escape an underground idol.

So I think it would be good to reduce the business offer a little

3. Overall, the difficulty level is also too easy. I hope there is a much more difficult level than now.

Otherwise, the current mode manager cannot modify the concert or performance effect.

I think it would be good to upload a new version of the enhanced mode manager. Then the users will create a very hardcore mode.

Hi,

First of, I bought this game after watching a French streamer (JDG) play, I didn't know if I would like it, and can't stop playing since. So good job!

Now I do have a (well 2) problem with the theater.

1. There is no stamina management for the theater, so I had to destroy it because it was killing my idols. Maybe doing like for the café would be a good idea.

2. It seems like the streaming revenue in the theater aren't shown in the income/outcome panel at the bottom of the screen.

Oh and I might have another suggestion about the theater. EVERTYTHING in the game is based on weekly revenue, except the theater. Why? Making it all weekly would make it easier to read and manage.

- Add the ability to automatically assign all girls in a unit the same uniform (or a predefined set for each individual girl that is similar in shape and color), so you can easily differentiate between units.

- When a girl's skill reaches its potential, it would be really convenient to see that value displayed in the girl's tab in the main screen with a different color, so as to possibly manually prevent her from continuing to train that skill with a great deal of time and resources.

Hello,

Some suggestions :

  1. Add idol graduation date in their profile, when you have a lot of idol it's hard to remember
  2. Add possibility to filter songs when selecting song for a concert
  3. Add possibility to sort singles by date, fan satisfaction etc
(+2)

Adding to #1, it'd be nice if graduated idols were moved to some sort of "hall of fame" where you could view their profiles, or something along these lines. As a bonus, this could open up a possibility to (still) interact with them in some manner.

Also, maybe an option to set a concert as a "graduation ceremony" for an idol that's about to leave soon? It could make the fan base of that particular idol more likely to attend, or smth.

Something about idol contract. The managing idol of the game is good and all but I think this is what is lacking. The idol I manage seem to like doing scandalous thing and I am the one who has to clear it with no penalty to the idol. Also, some of the more orthodox IRL companies have a contract that's quite complex with hefty penalties for breaking it and some about the term of contract like maybe four years.

(+1)

I don't know if someone suggested this already but it would be really nice if you could have a "pre-sorting" group where the idols are listed as "trainees," and you can choose to dispose of them before you finalize them for debut. I like to think of my idols realistically where big idol entertainment companies enlist newbies to train before debuting. And then once debuting it makes sense that you can't switch them around after a year. My issue is that once I create new groups, I can't move idols already under a sister group even though their demographics make much more sense in the new group. I have to wait a whole year before that. If they were listed as trainees and not confirmed for debut then moving them around with be so much easier T_T Idk if that made sense, I just want to be able to switch them around more fluidly. In the meantime I'm just using their outfits to distinguish which group they are a part of.

And it would be kind of cool to be able to do plastic surgery >u< cuz of how realistic that is... but I get that it wouldn't make much sense in the game cuz of the current structure as well as the art.

Also I would love to see male idols :3

overall I LOVE this game. I am thoroughly addicted and my work/school is suffering ;_; (jk not really) but keep in mind I'm not the type of person to play ALOT of games so this says a lot! Great work.

(-1)

Below are some of my ideas.

TLDR

1. Rebalancing the mental stamina of the idol (not much impact on the current game right now) (related to 3. Idol’s preferences too)

2. True End after the story mode (Idol’s ending) (Again, related to 3. Idol’s preference)

3. Idol’s preference on genre (music / lyrics / choreography)

Elaboration:

1.Rebalancing mental stamina

Currently the mental stamina is not impactful on the game. I suggest every activity (like releasing singles) should decrease the mental stamina on the idol. Moreover, If the idol personal preference is not match with the singles / concert, for example, A idol with preference on metal music, but the new singles are of different genre, the idol will suffer more damage on mental stamina.

In addition, 100% of mental stamina should mean 100% of the idol’s ability status, while low mental stamina will yield a percentage of the idol’s ability. (e.g., 50% stamina may cause the idol’s originally 100 dancing skills to 50 dancing skills)

This should cause the player to slow down the money-making process and force them to choose the right member regardless of the flat ability of the idol. Thus, the player could not spam singles and concert on making huge amount of money.

2. True End

After the current story mode, there game has no goal and I suggest having a true ending.

The ending should be focus on the idol / the idols’ group. For example, I imagine a scenario when after the story, the main character is challenged by the top rival idol manager (from a particular genre of music) from the world. The player then have to, for example, choose to challenge a world class metal band.

Numerous events could be added during this scenario, for example, the rival manager may recruit your idols, and you have to choose your faithful idol/ idols to conquer the specific genre of music. As mentioned previously, each idol should have its preference on genre, the idols with different preference may leave the group as well.

If the player beat the rival manager, which will yield a true genre-specific ending for the group / idol.

This will encourage the player too play on specific genre to see all endings, and different genre should have different event along the route too.

In addition, Aya / rival (main character) / Fujimoto should also have True ending after the story.

3. Idol Preference

As mentioned previously, each idol should have preference on particular type of music / lyrics / dance, this also add difficult to the game as the player now could not choose the idol with the highest ability, but also have to consider whether the idol match the group’s image too.

Thank you very much for your reading

It would be nice if there was an option at Romance Relationship 5 to keep her in the Group and keep going on Dating / "other" events with her at the cost of triggering a scandal.

or maybe just the ability to still interact with her after marriage ...

I just finished a Romance Rout and the Idol was very well written, so I am a bit sad that all options at 5 would stop me from having further Romantic Interactions with her, I kind of wish I could keep interacting with her after she became my wife :v

I think more Formation for Idol groups would also be nice,
Trio Formations, Duo Formations,  Quartets, and 5-Star Groups ...
The Pyramid is nice and all, but I think it could be fun to have more and smaller options!
Maybe as DLC?

(+1)

1 I would like to be able to sell album CDs as well as single CDs.

2 Staff members don't level up fast enough and can't be promoted before clearing the game. In the latter half of the game, I'd like to see the levels rise a little faster.

3 I want to be able to modify the interior of the game easily with mods, like in RIMWORLD.

4 I'd like to see a tool that makes it easy to make custom mods for characters. It's too much work to position the face, hairstyle and accessories.

5 I'm waiting for the DLC!

Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

I would like to be able to use the bangs and back hair folders in hairstyle. The back hair should be hidden behind the body.

It is difficult to add long hair and body.

(+2)

Having played a frankly embarrassing amount of this game, I definitely have a few ideas for improvements or changes to be added in the future, they're really just ideas that I thought might be fun though.

-Different sprites and appearances for different age groups. It definitely feels a little weird having a girl who's 28 and has a sprite who looks like she's 11, and it would mean I wouldn't have to check ages for each and every single one of the idols as often as I do now.  It would also be nice to have the clothing available change depending on the policy you choose for their clothes (pants if you choose pants, longer skirts, ect)

-In the same vein, some form of awareness for the age of the girls would be nice, as you can have 12 year old girls being suggested for gravure photoshoots, and, in at least one dialog event, you can flirt with them. Having the flirtatious options changed or unavailable would be really nice, since as the game stands I just kind of pick the blandest options to avoid accidentally flirting with any kids. T-T

-Reputation and management styles! A sort of mechanic of reputation where depending on your choices, either you or the company gain certain types of reputations (salacious, rude, exploitative, laid back, supportive, ect) which would give you different buffs and effects! For example, if the company gains a salacious reputation, the idols you get in recruitment will be older and have more points towards the sexy stat, and you may even get less idols in the recruitment process. And then for you personally it could effect how the girls react to you, like if you have a good reputation with them you will gain more influence and friendship faster, and if you have a reputation for hitting on idols you may gain it slower. As for management styles, I thought an added policy option might be nice where you can choose to be stuff like 'hands on' or 'hands off' where you get different buffs and debuffs. (like maybe if you choose to be hands on you get higher quality production but it takes longer regardless of who does it, and it would be the opposite if you were hands off)

-Other than that, I really think flavortext events with different groups having scandals and how we might react or benefit from it, or even the option to poach girls from groups that aren't doing very well (or an option for girls to ask to join your agency outside of recruitment because they decided to leave their group, and what kind of risk you would be taking if you accept them in) This isn't really a huge thing but I feel like it'd make the game feel a lot more alive and less lonely since right now we hardly see anything of any other groups, and it's even less if you don't play story mode.

These are all things that probably won't actually be added until after release if at all, but I still figured I'd suggest it just to put it out there. Other than that I just wanted to say I absolutely adore this game so much and it brings me so much joy, so thank you.

Bit late to the party, but loving the game at the moment - must have restarted at least 100 times by now!!

So just a few suggestions if a sequel (or update) is in the works:

1) For the Idol auditions, attendees' ranks (or at least stats) should be based on how good your company is (or doing). Why would platinum idols want to join a non-reputable upstart company when they could potentially join a more successful competitor? I say this, because sometimes you could get 3 superstars right from the start, and this greatly affects how the early game is played - I think this makes them miss out on how the developers intended players would approach the game.

2) Having the producer/manager (me) be the only person to perform certain jobs really bottle-neck the production process. Having a nobody (or even a regular manager) be in charge of writing lyrics which could potentially make or break the entire company would be in most cases absurd in real-life! Perhaps they could outsource or have permaneant staff to do the job. If an idol has enough experience singing (centering or 2nd row) with a group or they reach a certain level with their vocalist skill, maybe they could be able to submit potential lyrics to the producer - an option regardless of whether they are accepted or not.

3) Also, for mods - instead of parameters like "unique" and the "can_be_hired_again" - make it an option in the settings so players have the choice as a mixture of modders and their decisions can lead to some implementing them and others not...

Been 3 years since the intial post was made and quite a few days since the last post - hope this gets heard (visually, of course!).

Thanks for a fun game!

Is there any way to make stats for a song not extremely low if you don't include all the members from a group? Like if my group has 20 members and I'd like to have a song with 10 members, the stats for the song drop a lot due to the empty 5 spaces.

Also will things like sub-units, albums, larger amounts of members per song, etc ever be added? Or is the game considered finished atp?

(1 edit) (+1)

I've been playing this quite a lot recently and have really enjoyed it on the whole.

One thing I think could be improved is that the singles once released don't appear to be viewable again. You can see what the lineup was and how well the song did, chart position etc. but you can't see what the genre was, the style, the lyrical theme. (You can only view these when it is in the charts).

Once a song has been selected to be part of a concert you cannot view its demographic appeal anymore when clicking 'add song'.

During a concert, if the background music could change depending on the song/genre being performed that could be a nice little detail.

The 'No critical failure' card did not seem to work for me during a concert.

I think it would also be good to have the option of putting certain songs onto an album, so getting the team to write album tracks that cost less to produce but with some singles on there too. This would be a nice occasional addition alongside the elections, concerts and world tours. Maybe even an extra option of 'shooting a music video' for certain songs where you have to temporarily hire a camera crew, director and editor...this could also make the stylists come in to their own and add dimension to their roles and create more things to learn under 'research'.

Occasionally having songs being picked up by advertising could mean extra revenue / royalties from a single after it has been released.

At the annual awards would it not be slightly more realistic if there could be the possibility of scandals / problems during the ceremony? Also a feature where you have to prep the idols for the awards show and choosing certain outfits that may create more media reaction could again involve the stylists more.

Also during a world tour it seems nothing can ever really go wrong. There could maybe be small mishaps like arguments, getting held up arriving into a new country... etc.

- - - glitches / bugs / other stuff - - -

There is an annoying glitch during my conversations with idols (usually casual) where I'm getting a flickering of colour on my screen - I know it's coming every time and it hopefully can be fixed.

I noticed that sometimes Idols that have long been graduated can get mentioned when trying to find out who is in a clique etc.

Hovering over the number of fans brings up the demographic breakdowns - could this text not be a bit larger / fill a page like with salaries and contracts?

Being able to change the order of your idols as they appear on the main screen could be useful.

(1 edit)

...oh and when preparing a concert, if I try to edit the name of the concert and [venue] with the original words there, every letter typed moves the cursor to the end of the text field.

Add male idols please i would love it at the beginning of the game we could have males or we could have both and then their could be boy and girl idol groups and dating or even secret dating depending on the  policy's and have drama there but I know u are missing an entire fan base cuz I got the game told my friend's about it but they lost interest after hearing their were no Male Idols
