I got stuck after examining Mom's Drawer. The text box would not go away and I couldn't leave the room. Good job on the art!!
Yo! Well done with this game. It has some really nice sidescrolling graphics, sketches, and an overall very interesting and intriguing premise. I loved the idea of being both victim and perpetrator. It certainly does have an unnerving atmosphere. Keep making awesome stuff :)
much respect, the sprites looked really good! Loved the style. Had some trouble with keybinds at the start but got over them pretty quick. I love how you were able to make something with such a cutesy art style actually creepy near the end. This would definitely get a manlybadasshero playthrough when finished lol.
I like the art and the story! The environment is unnerving and the final section is pretty disturbing. Good work on making something with cute art also creepy!
Wow that was super cool, I think this may be my favorite from the jam. Feels like a game I would see Alpha Beta Gamer play. Trying to get the alternate endings now. The only real complaint I can give is that there is no walk animations but besides that this is really nice.
There were a couple speedbumps figuring out how to navigate (what key to interact, that I had to _look_ at stuff to interact) but I think it was worth it. I love this 2D sidescroller perspective (for horror games especially) and wish there were more games that did it. The portraits and sprites are all fantastic too, and the color scheme is a unique choice that fits the mood really well. And the parts that switch perspective are unexpectedly disturbing.
Thanks for checking the game out! Many apologies, I forgot to put a barrier in the outside section. As for the text skipping, that was a bug; it should've skipped to the end of the text and not skipped into the next dialogue and as for the sprites, I just didn't have time to make them sadly. I appreciate the feedback in the video!
Congrats on your submission! I really like the artwork but I am pretty sure I ran into a bug. I didn't find the control keys listed anywhere so it took me a while to find out to press E to continue the story. I was trying spacebar and clicking and nothing was happening so I tried another browser and when the same thing happened, I started pressing all the keys until I moved the story along. When you are supposed to 'Call for someone' the character would not move with A or D, only S moved the character to the right, so something got confused. Moving A wouldn't move me back to the right. I kept accidentally skipping the story because I'm used to pressing the key to make the full text appear.
Sorry about the control keys! I forgot to put them in the game page. As for the text skipping, that was a bug. Although I am not sure about the movement bug you've mentioned, I've tried replicating it, but it wouldn't break like how you would describe it. Anywho, i've published a patched version that should fix most of the issues the previous build had. Thanks for the feedback!
loved the story, loved the art style (i saw the among us eyes, don't deny it), not sure what to do after i found the nails which did in-fact made me tense up a bit, but this is easily my favourite game for this jam! I'm keeping my eye on this geam! (also how did i post 4 times lol)
Cool game, I like the story a lot, initially I was confused as to why the sister was boarding up doors. I wonder if she knew exactly what was going to happen.
I feel like the speed the text appears is a bit slow for my tastes, I also would like it if pressing e when someone is talking skips the typewriter effect and shows you the entire text, and to advance you press e again.
The art style is really nice too, really like how the characters look.
