Had a bit of issues getting the controls at first especially with the timing (tho tbh that's just me haha) but I really love this game! the graphics are cute, the gameplay is super interesting, and I really like having the ability to place platforms at my will, it was really fun and refreshing.

The NES feel is really strong, I liked the audio as well. Congrats to the team!

Enemies were a little bit difficult for me to evade, but I know it’s not easy to fine tune the game for everyone during a jam.

AAAAA.. i saw this game in the discord server and yea!, it is delightfully simple but its also so polished, the art is so gosh dang cute, i love it!!!

Oh, this is the best submission here (I can't rate my own, to be fair). It is not the most complex, not the craziest, not the most intense, not the largest, but it ticks EVERYTHING that makes a jam game right and it fits the purpose of this jam like a cat fitting in a box 2 sizes too small for it.  Only a handful of titles are getting a full 5 for the NES feel (from me) and this is certainly one of them!

Notes:

  • Gah!  Falling skeletons are still deadly!  ;-;
  • No pause button!  BOOOOOO!  How am I supposed to write my review while the game is still running! :(

Very cool game, like playing a NES classic. A bit on the slow side for my taste, but great execution.

Oh wow! I’m a big fan of Solomon’s Key, and Doukeshi plays just like it. Absolutely amazing, how faithfully you’ve reproduced the feel of the NES here.

My favorite one I think might need to see what games inspired you.

The first thing I said when booting this up was "Oh no is this going to be amazing?" I was absolutely stunned by the graphical presentation and the audio-- they're perfectly fitting. And the gameplay!! Wonderfully puzzling little puzzle-platformer, this feels like it could be something Hudsonsoft and Hal Labs would've collaborated to cook up back in the early 80's. I am absolutely in love with this game and want more of it!
Straight 5/5s, exemplary work!

Wow that's incredible! Such a nice package, great music sounds and art. Totally captured the NES feel.

Really solid entry—I love the amount of polish y'all were able to get into your game and the music is excellent! I do wish the player's movement was just a little bit faster, but the game plays really well as is. A new NES classic? Thanks for making and sharing your game!

This is true old-school, just with smooth controls. I liked it!

Awesome! I reached Room 07 during my two last runs.

I love Solomon's Key ( but actually grew up with the ersatz Spherical which I love too) to the point we talked about making such a game for this Jam. You nailed it! The NES asthetics and sound effects are perfect and the music is super nice. I like the skeleton's behaviour and the difficulty is exactly as I want it to be for the JAM.

I love it!

This game is peak nes, musically a banger and graphically beautiful, 5/5 even if i couldnt get past the second level.

This DEFINITELY feels like a real NES game. Great job on the authenticity category. And same with the NES difficulty level! I wished it could continue with infinite lives tho so I could keep going where I got a game over! Really unique game. Love the sounds and music!!
