Use of the limitation
The unpredictable rules is tied with the utter chaos and confusion that comes with running a DJ booth for the first time. There's so many buttons and tracks to get down, not to mention the soundboard being unpredictable and changing sounds every night.

Cookies eaten
2 whole sleeves of Costco Oreos. Dont judge me I know what I am.

This game has a great vibe. I really love the character design, it's very cute : )

The absolute fatal flaw is the post-processing (made me nauseous) and the mouse sensitivity, which is absurdly high. Even with it at the lowest it can go, I could barely press the keys I needed to which made it pretty much unplayable for me.

The scale of the console feels wrong for gameplay: the buttons needed to be way bigger, and the laptop + the tabletop record players needed to take up less space so the console could be at a larger scale. Would make it much easier to press the buttons.

It is REALLY rough to get a crash-course on everything you need to know. I read the whole thing at least three times and still had pretty much 0 idea what I was supposed to be doing.

I agree with other commentators that it would have been nice to only have access to some of your equipment per-night. A learning curve would have been appreciated.

Sorry, but I didn't get it. This wall of text in the begining is very confusing. I like reading, but this is not the case. To make it easier to understand, you should provide examples of how to use this material. I haven't seen DJ play like many other players, I guess. I just want to point out that there is some interesting art here, but that's all.

No but bro the DJ set was too small for my big paws (genuinely the sensibility seems too high which affect my ability to click the buttons) (im also very bad at gaming, dont judge me plsss) And I loved the vibe !!! The whole “little text that never ends” was really funky :)) and the bartender was wishing my death tho :O

Dang, this actually looked like a lot of fun, but I ran into an issue with my camera always veering to the bottom-right. That didn't affect my rating, I could still play enough to get the vibe, and I think this is a really neato idea. A bit of an information overload, though. Your bro makes it sound like being a DJ is easy but then spends like 20 pages explaining to you everything with the writing of a high school dropout (which I know is that point, lol), but it genuinely is too much info. From a teaching standpoint, it might have been better to introduce one part of the equipment at a time then show how it affects the crowd. Of course, that would take a lot more time and we definitely didn't have much this jam. Still a cool concept!

The visuals are very unique and I like how you managed to blend them all together! Agree with what other said, it's hard to keep track of everything the game throws at me in the beginning. But it somehow fits the overall vibe. Great job!

This was a unique experience, but I guess I'm quite a bad dj haha. I was so confused at the start with how to do things with so many different buttons, but kinda got used to it after a while. I had a really fun time with the game as a sandbox where I can make weird music, but I was failing at running the club really hard :D

I’m glad you liked it as a sandbox! I definitely think there is a lot of improvement for the progression of the game, along with making it more intuitive. Thank you!

It's such an intereting concept, but i'll be honest, i'm so confused haha--i love trying all the buttons and the instruments, all the samples are funny! i love the art a lot! i think you could make a full game with this concept! cause i love the idea and the concept. good job :)

Developer

So glad you liked the concept! It is all a bit overwhelming though isn’t it haha. Definitely would want to revamp the button layout to make it a bit more intuitive in the future. Thanks for playing!

While I'll admit it was a little overwhelming at first and I couldn't figure out how to get the 3 tracks to work. I also admittedly pressed a bunch of buttons and couldn't stop the track recording (not sure if that's intentional.) I will definitely come back to this and give it another go maybe take a few screen shots of the instructions this time haha. I can definitely see the potential in this and appreciate all the different things you can do  in it! Super Fire concept 5 stars!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Haha yeah the general consensus is that the buttons were a bit overwhelming. I’m glad you enjoyed it though!

To be honest, I did not really get it. The game throws too much text-based information at you right from the start, and by the time you actually start playing, you’ve already forgotten everything. The tutorial should be more gradual -maybe limit functionality at first and show what need to do.

Honestly implementing a learning curve would have been a great idea! Thanks for the feedback :D

Cool idea, I really liked the art and how it moved a long with you and matched the feel the gaming was going for. Plus, as a sound designer, I enjoyed getting to mess with all the mixes and instruments! I did find the introduction a little long and that I didn't get what my goals were exactly for a while. That and I COULD NOT figure out the mix tape system haha. The controls were little finicky though, maybe could have had it so your camera pans over the panel to give you better control and then pressing movement keys pulls you out of it? Good job overall!

Developer

Thanks for playing my game! Yeah I do agree that the intro is a bit lengthy, with so many buttons on the dashboard I found it hard to condense all that information lolol.

If interested, mixtape order goes insert into top slot, then play audio, press record for the mixtape right below the holder, then stop anytime, take it out, then put that into any of the three slots below.

Explaining that alone kinda puts into perspective how unintuitive some of my controls are xD, if I do end up coming back to this game I’d love to revamp them.

Suffice to say thank you for trying my game!!!!

I really like the unique spin on the limitation, no pun intended. It was a lot of fun to try all the buttons and experiment with all the possibilities. I will be trying my best to beat the game!

Developer

Good luck! I’m glad you had fun experimenting!

I had the same issue. I'm using Chrome and the loading bar stops around 90%.
