Graphics were fantastic and I love the core concept paired with the theme. I was a bit confused at the beginning with placing things in my inventory vs on to the ship but it didn't take long to figure out. My ship was pimped out with a bunch of sharks by the end!

I loved the idea here and the graphics were spectacular. I only with there was more to the ship that could be replaced, really live up to the title. But overall fun idea.

Developer(+1)

we had a lot more plans for how to damage the ship with that scope being scaled back for time

A very funny idea!  Mimicking the comments below, if you add to the game having different parts of the ship break would be very cool.  I had some issues with clicking items as well, sometimes they wouldn't register and at least once I got locked out of clicking on anything else after clicking on a coconut.

A great and very unique idea! Love the art, music and simple controls for the gameplay. One thing I think could make it even better is more different holes and maybe a little more frequently for the ship damage, as I would love to see a ship entirely patchworked from sharks, seagulls and Mona Lisas. Also a bucket bailing mini-game could be cool as a post-game extra thing? XD Overall excellent and very polished entry. I played your game on stream for more detailed feedback. :) Timestamped Link

Fun game, and a unique premise! I did think a tutorial would be good as some of the systems weren't immediately obvious. Still though, was able to pick them up and had a good time! Good visuals, music and sound design as well.

This was a pretty fun experience!  Had a little trouble understanding the game initially, but realized I was probably missing information and checked out the description page.

Holes forming on the ship can be a little sneaky.  An additional visual tracker or audio cue would be a nice quality of life addition.

There's also a bug that presents when restarting the game (playing on Windows 11).  After restarting nothing seems to spawn (even the parts that fall off the ship).

Also, not sure if I did anything wrong, but I finished the game with 3 paintings and was scored 0.

This was a really fun short game, I loved the idea and the title is very accurate to the experience! All the best ships have sharks plugging the holes in them xD

  • (+) Beautiful visually. The water looks fantastic, and the details on the ship and the items are crazy.
  • (+) I like having to constantly replace the items in the holes as they fell off, it was a struggle for me as I kept only storing valuable stuff. I learned quickly that some utility items were also needed.
  • (-) A tutorial would have helped a lot. I didn’t know what I was doing at first, and just popped stuff in my inventory. It took a while to realize I had holes, I think some sound effects whenever a new hole appears or an old hole rips open again would have helped a lot, since it was hard to see the holes while bobbing in the water.

Fantastic work!

This looks beautiful! I agree with others that the art and water shader really standout. The music was also good and fitting of going on a journey. I shared a lot of the same issues as other players, like not knowing what to do at all, then not understanding that holes were causing the ship to sink, not being able to see holes because of the environment, and objects not spawning after restart. I did manage to beat it on the second attempt, though.

Congrats to the team on your first GWJ submission and I look forward to more!

Cool inventory system and idea, attaching sharks to the ship was specially funny.

I noticed the next rounds I played (after losing) no items spawned.

I managed to finish it, it gets a bit challenging by the end hehe

Love the concept and  graphics. Great game!

Loved the style and gameplay.  The water shader looking fire!

The sharks would sometimes block the ability to see where the hole was, and it was sometimes hard to spot it with the ship bobbing up and down. Still, the fact that there were multiple breaking points on the ship is pretty great. The concept alone is worth exploring, made me smile, genuinely

I really liked the concept here, and it looked great, but I felt like I never really had to make any difficult decisions. And the only reason I ever panicked to fix something was because I didn’t even realize it was broken.

I feel like with a little more work this could be both really funny and challenging, though. Nice job!

Edit: Wanted to add two things: 1) the music was great; 2) I played on Linux and it worked well. :)

First run I horded everything and made it half way confused why nothing was stopping me from sinking. Then I realized I needed to use my loot to plug the holes and got a good giggle at using a shark and the Mona Lisa as plugs.

wow beautiful game

Nice work! As has been mentioned, an alert for holes forming would be helpful. I also would have left the inventory open, it never needed to collapse. I ran into a few issues, like having to relaunch because restarting had a single barrel pass then nothing more for the next literal minute. But I’m not complaining, my game also doesn’t restart well and doesn’t look nearly as nice.

Awesome work on the ship and water design. Gameplay-wise it took me 3-4 tries before I understood I was supposed to plug the holes in the ship with the items floating by (I thought I was just supposed to drag them into the inventory slots on the left.) Some notification / sound for when a hole opens would be helpful. Otherwise nice job!

yea we definitely have a lot of UX issues. we were more surprised to have finished as much as we did for a first jam.

The picking up mechanic is very funny and I liked the mona lisa but it feels a bit slow

Was looking forward to this one! The graphics are awesome. I feel like the mechanics need a bit of love, especially the sinking and lose mechanic. I lost without realizing what happened
