Now I am just waiting a full version! Good job! :)

Great work! amazing game loop, very addictive :)

Thank you for recording your gameplay. This really helps, I definetly found some points of improvement, while watching your video. Also helpful to have a number on the playtime, just to know how long the game takes.
Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed the game :D

An incredible amount of fun! I could keep playing for a very, very long time - procedural upgrades perhaps?

Developer

Im glad your enjoying my game :) that could be a way to implement more gameplay, although I fear, that the charme of the game gets lost when I do too much with procedural generation. The map is already generated, and still needs a lot of work to get really good. Nonetheless thank you for the feedback and your idea <3

Think you've got a real talent for making great game loops and addictive mechanics. Another really solid entry from you. I'll echo a couple comments about the mouse controls feeling a little clunky, but given the task, there's not a lot you could have done differently.

You've done well in all the categories for me. Great job.

Developer

Thank you very much! In fact I had some ideas about improving the controls the last couple of days, definetly something I want to do. In the end I'll probably support both keyboard+mouse and mouse only controls.
To improve the mouse controls, I could check which is the nearest empty tile to the place clicked, or maybe even use LBM for mining and moving. Definetly some things I need to tinker with.

Dog + calculator = OP :D

It's got a nice progression curve with the unlocks. Early on it's tough to find portals, but with better stuff you can get more loot. I think I would've preferred being able to see the full tech tree, so you can plan ahead.

My only complaint is that there's pathfinding. I'd rather just walk into the direction I'm pointing at, since I'm mining everything in front of me anyway. Right now it felt a bit awkward having to spamclick on the floor, especially when trying to go somewhat diagonally.

Pretty fun game overall, good job :D

Developer

Haha :D Yes, that combo is very strong.
Thank you for playing! I do agree, the portals could be easier to find.
I understand the problem with pathfinding, this is definetly a point I want to improve in the future.

I really like it, I know you said in the discord that the balancing was of and for a full release sure, but for a gamejam this was perfect. I had to go in like 5 times before unlocking almost everything and having enough money to play around a bit. Great job

Developer(+1)

To be fair, when I complained about my balancing in the discord, it was the old item prices. Since then I increased the prices by about 300-400% xD
Glad you enjoyed it <3

I really like the new game loop that makes it even more addicting to play. I love how every upgrade feels impactful and I like how the new items give each player freedom in how they play. I liked how the items were implemented although I think they weren't as incorporated with the game's them as I would have liked. Everything was really polished and the audio was super juicy and fun. Everything was pretty easy to understand. I think more variety when you are mining would be nice. The controls felt good although I didn't love the movement. I think it was a combination of having to click again to move but also not being able to click in the rock, whereas I would want my mouse to be on the rock I'm aiming to break, meaning I can't walk towards it. That's just a nitpick though, overall great job!

Developer

Thank you for taking the time and writing detailed feedback <3 Im happy that you like the new gameplay, I do agree that the items feel a bit random, even though I did my best to give them all a gameplay mechanic.
The movement feels a bit cluncky, I get you on that point. Definetly something I want to improve in the future.

I really like the randomness and roguelike elements in this. The game feels satisfying to play. For this jam, I think it’s great overall. I do think the items could be incorporated into the game's theme a bit better. Other than that, the game is easy to understand and includes most of the required items.

If you plan to continue working on this after the jam, I think it would be great to add more things happening during mining—like hazards to avoid or interactive elements such as mushrooms or animals that could affect your mining. It could also be more interesting if you didn’t just buy upgrades, but had to find them in the cave and bring them back safely. These items could have an ancient technology or artifact style to better fit the game’s theme.

I really like this game and would be excited to play more if you decide to keep developing it!

Developer

Thank you for playing and rating my game :) I do agree that some items arent as well implemented as others, and they're also a bit unbalanced. Thank you for the ideas for further development. I really do plan to develop this game more and I also think that some variety in the mines is much needed. Finding some upgrades is a great idea.

Still one of my favorite games of the jam.

You are going to keep developing this afterwards... right?

Developer

Thank you very much.
I can reassure you, I definetly plan to develop it further. Thats also why I decided to continue my game in every round. I think there is much potential in this game loop, I just need to polish my stuff further up.

Another banger in the Dig Deep saga!

Was super looking forward to playing this! I love that you expanded the upgrade system to include the terrain generation as well, genius! The time-based collecting and rift to escape system was also a really clever way to put some risk reward into the gameplay loop that really helped!

I think my only real gripe with the game is that i wish you could right click on walls/ore and still pick your next move destination. So often i got frustrated trying to move somewhere only to get stopped because my mouse was only slightly touching the wall and not the floor. I also faced an issue early on where digging deeper twice caused my game to just freeze at a black screen. Luckily, you added a save system this time so that was no problem!

Love this game and the Dig Deep series <3

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing!
I undestand the frustration, thats just the classical problem, of a dev not seeing the problems anymore. I got used to the janky controls :) Definetly something I will improve in the future.
Thats interesting, I never encounterd that. Yes the save system had cost me some nerves :D
