Really nice game, the music is very cozy. Had a lot of fun playing this. ⭐⭐Also:
Hahahahaha omg this pic is so good
Nice concept and execution, the little houses and mushroom people are cool and funny :)
As others have said, the progression is too slow to get players easily invested in the game (especially in the context of a game jam where you have a limited time to allow to each game you try)
And it was very frustrating to buy a building that you cannot use, having to pay basically double to even have one single guy with that new ability...
Other than that, I liked it a lot! With those two things fixed I could have spent a lot of time playing, trying to please the Mushroom Lord ;)
Good job!
Pushing the seeds was very satisfying and I found my self playing for far longer than expected!
I liked the concept and the ambience a lot, I just want to say that progression at the beggining is pretty slow and that could turn players away, but once you got stuff working, it's awesome to see your colony grow.
I have no complaints. These types of games are tricky to balance, but you did an amazing job here. Fantastic job, favorite game of the jam I've played so far! :)
EDIT: I kept playing for another 30 minutes in the background while I was checking out some other jam titles, probably played about an hour and a half total. I really love what you made here, just wanted to reiterate.
Really fun game! I played until I pretty much maxed out (when the cost scaling got insane). It could use some balance tweaks. The bombs never became useful because the stacks wouldn't get high enough. The punchers were too weak. Or maybe an additional building on top of the punchers for launching the seeds. I wanted to get higher stacks to make use of the bombers but the collectors were too fast compared to the punchers. I also think it would've been nice if the cost scaling didn't soft-lock you.
I think it would add to the satisfaction factor if the whole game fit in one screen, so you could see it all happening at once. Maybe by making the buildings build upwards into multiple stories, to take up less horizontal space? Just an idea.
These are all nitpicks because it was a fun experience that held my attention. Nice sound and art too.
This was a lot of fun. For some reason the sound didn't work for me (on Safari). But a cool take on the clicker genre. Nice work!
Actually the audio did work. That was just me being dumb with my headphones. I changed my rating accordingly :)
The sound was really nice!
The scaling was too slow for my tastes. Played for 5-10 minutes, and didn’t manage to get any significant automation, or liftoff, so I quit
Seemed pretty cool though
Really nice for only 2nd game jam, and solo!! Big props!!!
I'm not much for idle games, but that wasn't bad. I kept expecting the upgrades to run out and instead the price would jump an order of magnitude bigger on me :c
Two notes:
It is an exquisite zen experience, thank you! It is interesting to explore the game mechanics and then watch the magnificent automation of work. Yeah, it’s always interesting to watch how others work :D
All in all, the game world feels entirely original. I have never seen mushroom puncher workers before… It is very mushroomy XD
Art is charming, while music helps you feel immersed in the endless game loop. It is endless, isn’t it?
This game really hooked me, I just finished a forty-five minute session before I stopped. I enjoyed the setting and ambiance, and my brain is a perfect fit for the make number go up gameplay loop. I had a lot of fun getting all the upgrades and watching the little mushroom dudes get more efficient over time.
I think that it might have been helpful to have a small tutorial at the start for new players to orient the resource loop, but I think things were pretty intuitive if you've played something in this genre before.
Really impressive! Thanks for making it!
