The art you produced has potential, I'd say keep focusing on that. The game itself is simple and straight-forward. It seems to me that the protagonist is glitching when he walks, could be a bug in the code. But overall, nice work!
The art looks great but I think the game needs a little more instruction. Someone also commented locking movement and slowing down walk and I think that would be a great choice to make the game work more aesthetically!
All in all good for a first game jam and you probably learnt a lot and can make something even better next time :).
Perhaps enemies you have to dodge as the timer goes down? Or maybe you need to bring the coins back to feed the totem yourself but you can't go too far or else something bad happens?
Firstly I want you to know that i love the design of the totem. it's realy good. The idea of the game is good event if i don't think it fit the theme. You could have done that when we brig back parts to the totem it grows up and change (so it evolve). For your art if you want to get a better result keep the size of each pixel at the same. here yougot rocks with so much larger pixels than the player or the totem it's kinda harsh for eyes. By the way well done it's a complete game with a start and an end well done. The movements are fun to play with too. Also it was not very obvious that we need to get back to the center it took me a while to understand it. I win because i travel across all the map so i get back coins to him but mainly by accident i figure it out the count down was at 15 lol.

Yhea i have seen for the theme post that you have made. i just would like to say that you can match it more with few adjustement. And for the how to play, i have done the same mistake in my previous game jam. Players don't read the description carefully. That's why this time i put effort to add info on how to play directly into the game itself.

It was a nice concept and cute art, it kept me playing for couple of rounds, the only thing I would improve was that the controls were a bit floaty, and there was a bug were coins could be instanciated inside rocks, but overall this is a super fun entretaining game for phones, if this was on appstor or googleplay, and it was a bit more polished, with maybe online functions, I would defenetely download it.
Fun little game, I really like the Totem artwork and the movement is very satisfying.

Nice artwork! I played and won, but wasn't really sure what was going on haha, I kept losing coins? and the totem's life kept going up and down randomly.
Maybe I'm just silly and don't get something simple lol, great job!
the totem pole is very smart. i didnt get to the end tho. am i just bad at games?
