I played all the games

yhea i have seen it. I see that you got issue with the how to play because you skip the second image on the second tutorial. It's my fault i must have force you to see all tutorial before playing and i must have put the next page icon in more evidence. Thanks a lot by the way for the time and the effort. It was very valuable for me. (a bit frustrating but valuable)

Interesting idea! I included it in my XanderJam 3 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Developer

Thansk i will have a look.

This game was a pretty awesome puzzle game once I got the feel for how I could influence it to play out.  Some UI indicators for hints for the first few levels would have helped get the feel for the various elements.  Really enjoyed going through it though and loved the visual feel of the game - nice work!

Developer

Thanks a lot for your feedback. That was the purpose of the tutorial screen but it was not easy at all. but i don't get enough time to do an interactive tutorial.

Yeah- it is tough to pack enough info into a tutorial without it feeling like a pain.  Plus this is a jam so its tough to have time to even think about it so I liked that you even managed to get something this polished up- the ui hints were nit picky but not expected inside of the timeframe of a jam.  Really clever puzzle game here!

Developer

Thanks a lot. Next time i will give me a bit of time on this. But yhea with the work of the week it was hard to handle all of those stuff and remember it. And i was too into using it so not enough playtest to see that it miss this visual indication.

Initially took me a while to get the game going as I had to install some extra visual c ++ components, which I think is typical of the Unreal engine. Game looks great and is very polished. It did take me a while to work out what to do, especially the bit about dragging the cells on to the cards. Perhaps an animation that demonstrates the movement could help explain that better than the diagram? Also, I did find the speed of the simulations a little bit slow, perhaps make it faster so it doesn't take as long between tries. Great work overall.

Thanks a lot for your feedback. Yhea you are right but animation was a bit over the time for me that's why i move to still image with diagram. And for the speed you are right. Also maybe add a speed button so i can speed things up.

Great work, mate! Everything works and looks really polished. It took me a bit to figure out what to do, but the tutorials helped. You've got to be proud of this one.

Developer

Thanks a lot. I'm very proud of the result. Is there some part that are still difficult to figure out even with the help and the tutorials ?

It was mostly a first glance difficulty, I found. Once I got past that hump, it was easy to learn it.

Developer

Thanks i was worried a lot about being easy to understand. On my first gamejam players said that the game was polished and beautifull but no one was able to play lol.

this game is incredibly polished! the puzzles are super fun aswell. i was able to complete them without using most of the cards or cells, but i imagine there's a way to do it in one go instead of multiple turns.

i love the visuals and the music, and the ideas were quite easy to get the hang of.

only two slight issues i had: it took a moment for me to figure out that you had to drag the cells onto the cards. once i noticed the dark patch i figured it out, but a much clearer indication would be great. second: pressing Reset  re-opens the tutorial, which was mildy annoying when trying over and over.

this issues are still quite insignificant, and the game is very enjoyable regardless! definitely one of the top submissions in this jam afaik.

Developer

i understand for the tutorial screen. In order to solve it i must add a savegame because reset button only reload the level so i had to keep it like this for the small amount of time. For the draging i was thinking that i have add an arrow in the tutorial but it's a lot of info in a small amount of time. Your idea to clarify the icon is good i could have put a 50% opacity empty cell.

Thanks a lot for the feedback i realy appreciate your compliments.

Sadly I could not get the game to run, but it looks really cool. :)

Ho what issue do you get ? We have test it on few windows computer and it was working fine

Submitted

I clicked launch and nothing even showed up. Itch said it was running but there was no game. I force stopped and tried multiple times. Nothing worked. This has happened on other games , not just your, but all of those were WebGL/HTML, not a normal executable file.
