Could have been a nice tower defense game but it is kinda monotonous. You could have at least made it so that more enemies spawn as the time goes and they move faster.

Developer (1 edit)

they do move faster as time goes on

Oh then I haven't played for long enough. I played till 120 and it still was pretty easy.

sometimes it FEELS unfair when the zombies and the humans are overlaping

Well, as everyone pointed out, there's no AI.

It's a good idea to try the "mouse only" design, however player can keep mouse button down to kill enemies. I think you should not allow this as it changes the core idea. Plus it makes the hitbox of the word even unpredictable.

Nice idea but it'd required some more precision.

I'm not quite sure where the theme comes into this, but as a simple wave defense with a floating murder sword it's an interesting idea.

The hitboxes a little vague on the sword and the enemies/humans. Which makes it a little difficult to avoid hitting the humans,  Which to be fair I think was part of the point, but I think it would be better to have the hitboxes very precise and just rely on having enough humans vs monsters close together to make it difficult.

It's also an interesting way of handling a health system, though I feel like getting double punished by losing health when you kill a human was a little annoying.  considering your'e likely already going to lose a life or more, if you don't kill that human, it removes a bit of strategy and makes it a bit more of a precision game.  With some really vague hitboxes making that quite difficult.

Overall though an interesting endless wave game base.  That adding some variety to would definitely help spice up.

I do get where you were coming from theme wise. I do think it could have been a bit better justified, if that makes sense. Like instead of humans just spawning, maybe every 5 zombies you kill, then a human shows up and then contributes something like a damage buff, health regen, etc. Fun, simple game, does get a bit repetitive after awhile

A nice simple little game, would be cool with some more polish, maybe different weapons and enemy types, or levels where you have to get a certain amount of humans in the house, and the zombies attacked them as they went? Lots of possibilities for expansion here! Well done :D

It's a solid entry. The sound was a bit loud, and the gameplay gets a bit boring after a while. Anyway, good work.

I don't see any AI but apart from that it's a nice simplistic game

Submitted

Simple. I get 25FPS (or some value below 30) while playing this game . Is it because of my hardware?

art iz sick and the sword feel is great, i agree with everyone about missing the topic but i see you just posted about it. good job doe <3

Developer

For everyone not understanding the theme, I guess I did make it a bit over the top, but it goes off the topic because the goal is to help the humans, how are AI. Sorry for the confusion.

Missing the topic, but nice entry! (Props for using scratch!)

Its a fun little short game. The map was a bit too small because the zombies sometimes walked into the humans which caused me to lose points to kill them. I do not really understand how you collaborated with the AI in the game. Could you explain?

I watched your devlog and now I understand what you meant with "collaborating with AI". Well done.

Developer

Thank You. Let me say, it is pretty hard making a game and a video at the same time. It Puts me under a lot of unneeded stress.

its fun but how does it relate to "collaborate with ai"

I like the simplicity of the game, but I'm a little confused about how it fits into the theme of the jam.
