You should teach the player better on whar the red/blue character does, but other than that i found it a really good platformer!! Good Job!!

Developer(+1)

I tried doing that with the first 2 levels, but I should have made at least 2 stages for each character where you can learn all they can do, its something ill keep in mind for future games :)

The art, music and puzzle solving all come together really nicely in your game. It is very simple, challenging and fun! I agree with @footnotesforthefuture that you could have focused more on the mechanic of platform or no platform, but it's still perfect for a game made in 3 days.

Movement and wall jumping feels great. There is not much to criticize other than the font, which I didn't like. It is minor, but you could change it if you are making another version. Good Job!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words :)

I think its important for me to focus on the mechanics that make my game different, so I'll lean in more into that If I ever make another game like this :)

Thank you for the feedback, It means a lot!

Really good concept and well made!
I enjoyed playing with it.

If you like mysterious, creepy theme and twin stick shooter with interesting mechanics, check out my game. Thx!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing :)

I'll 100% make sure to check your game out !

This game is really good! Skipping and returning to levels was an excellent addition.
Level 7 was a little tricky with the wall/double jumping.
But this is a really strong, and well polished, submission :)

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm happy you enjoyed it :)

Simple game, presented well. Good job!

There are other games in this jam that give you platforms where you die. Your game is different because you have a choice - do I want a platform or do I not want a platform? I think you should have focused more on that from the very start. Make it more strategic. I'm not sure it would be better... but I would like to see it ;)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback :)

I definitely agree, I should have leaned in more into what makes the game different, the levels could have been a lot more interesting that way! Its something I'll keep in mind in the future :)

This game is very well made. The game concept fits perfectly with the jams topic.

It is very difficult to implement a wall jump, on the one hand you have to make sure that the player understands it well and on the other hand the controls have to feel good. But you implemented it perfectly. Great job!

As others have said, jumping feels a bit weird, i  second that.

The art is very simple, but it looks nice.

Altogether, this is a good game, with great mechanics and with simple but good looking visuals.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the feedback! Seems I forgot to add coyote time to the jump, I'll also look into ways to make jumping more fun and responsive in future games. After all, jumping should be the funnest part of a platformer!

It is also the hardest mechanic to implement. It takes a lot of iterations to make it feel very good.

Simple mechanics, nice work!

Developer

Thank you so much, Im glad you enjoyed it :)

Fun game. Really like the demolish mechanic, more than the blue mechanic. They do work good together.

I have no idea why, it isn't really related to you but I always got confused between the reset button and switch buttons. Doesn't really matter.

Jump mechanic felt a bit weird, sometimes I didn't have double jump and I guess that's something related to coyote time, and a short jump would be cool too.

This is well designed! Well done!

Developer

I totally forgot to add coyote time, thats my bad! I'll 100% look into adding it after the Jam ends!

Thank you so much for the feedback, and im glad you had fun playing :)

Thank you so much! Im happy you enjoyed it!

My bad on the menu, I should have definitely implemented mouse controls for the menu, it totally slipped my mind! And adding a "Retry" text or something to the corner of the screen when the puzzle is no longer solvable is a great idea that I'll look into adding after the jam :)

Developer

Thank you so much, Im glad you had fun playing it!

Your game is a blast btw :)

Thank you :)

I really enjoyed your game! I would just assign the jump to space and color swapping to another key, because I always tried to jump with space. ^^

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback!

Yeah, it seems most people expect Space to be jump, Ill take that into account in the future :)

Submitted(+1)

Oh, I liked this game. It had just the right amount of challenging you in your skill, but not too much, and requiring you to think.

The only thing that bugged me a bit is that conventionally I associate space with jumping, especially for a platformer. So if I would change anything, then to move the color shift to another input.

Other than that, great game.

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! I agree, its something I need to consider changing, a lot of comments have been pointing that out! Perhaps E or Q would have been better fits for the change mechanic.

Submitted(+1)

This was soo good! I liked the art and the controls felt really good. The mechanics also felt really good and fit the theme really well. The puzzles did not feel too hard so the pace of the game did not leave me bored. This seems like it could do well following a 'Meatboy' type of game setup. Would be interesting to have some lore to the world.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the kind words! The lore idea is really cool, I could add it as an extra collectible or something if I ever decide to expand the game :)

Im glad to hear you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Very Cool!!! I like all the game mechanics in your game! Also I really like how you made your itch page!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Right back at you!

Submitted(+1)

Wow! The movement is really fluid and responsive, and the idea that your death has different effects depending on your color is really neat! Player feedback is very nice as well. Adding a timer for speedruns seems like it would be a great fit for this game. Overall, this was a fun experience. Great job!

Developer (1 edit)

Im so glad to hear you enjoyed it :) And thank you so much for the feedback, a timer is something I will definitely think of adding in the future :)

Submitted(+1)

Super solid crunchy tight game! Not sure what changing colors is for though.

Developer (1 edit)

Red is meant to destroy blocks so you can pass through certain areas, and blue is meant to create blocks to help you get to higher places and such. Switching is so you can choose in what way you want to approach the levels :)

Submitted(+1)

Ohhhh! Cool, I seem to have missed that. Nice!

Submitted(+1)

nice job dude!

Developer

Thank you for paying, hope you enjoyed the game:)
