Pretty cool idea, though I was dash spamming towards the end as there were so many enemies being thrown on screen. Ended up blowing through the boss as I didn't slow down. A little refinement and some more levels and I could see myself playing this for hours. Nice work

Wow, great job. Always a fan of games that take one mechanic and use it in numerous different ways to traverse the level and fight. The whole game being designed around that dash mechanic is fantastic and makes this feel unique. Good level design that the dash not only kills but, is required to get past obstacles. Awesome job!
A nice simple game, sadly I couldn’t get passed the first level with a pit in it as I was so bad at chain hitting them.
Just saw the Gif of how I was meant to do it, I was doing it wrong 😅
Keep up the good work!
Nice game!! dashing and killing was satisfying, and i love how the protegonist just sounds mildly irritated when he dies.
i struggled where i had to chain kill 3 bats in that one level but still I had a lot of fun!
I can definitely see this being developed into a bigger game, the controls felt really responsive and fun. The gameplay made me think "what if celeste was a fighting game", and I mean that as a huge compliment. Other than some minor bugs I would say this was a pretty good game.
Hi there!
- Fun/Design: The game is indeed fun. I had some troubles using the spacebar to dash/fight with the WASD combo, but after a few attempts it was ok. The dash feels satisfying tho, and the platformer works well.
- Music/Sound: The music is great, the sound effects are also alright. Nothing to say here :)
- Graphics/Animation: It's very minimalistic but works (even if the light/shadow on the background is bigger in terms of pixel ratio rather than the rest of the game). The animations are very basic tho, sprites aren't animated, the animation are done by moving them.
- Theme/Limitation: I'm not sure here. I wasn't able to complete the game because I was stuck on a level where there is a huge gap to go through and didn't figure out how to succeed so cannot tell if there is a boss at the end or not. I don't know how you did implement the "on the edge" here, I guess it's coming from the dark/light gameplay mechanism.
hello Shidy!
Thank you so much for your detailed input!!
There is a boss in the game so the limitation is covered. For the theme the idea is as you progress you become bound to the light and you are unable to move freely in the dark, so you have to fight while you are bound in the light and dashing at the edge of it. It becomes more clear as you progress in the game.
But yes you got stuck at probably the hardest level. I included a gif how beating it the parkour/combo way, but there are other ways of doing it.
Pretty good game! Solid mechanics, biggest grip is the one level where one of the dark samurai things is in a little nook, it's quite difficult to attack them without them walking into you first
