Really loved the design on this - and the interpretation of the theme was great. Enjoyed playing thank you so much for participating!

Cool! I really liked the game feel, and I think you made great use of the effects. I only think the camera could use some tilting or some background because it's not very clear when you are moving. Overall, great game  it feels polished

Simple yet cool concept!

Nice game,

Game controls needs to be improve, make it for fun & Challenging by levels like easy, mid then high level.

Very good submission. Music is great, The neon minimalistic graphics are nice but get little dull after a while. Maybe some textures on the floor would be nice... Also I appreciate the juice (recoil and the screen shake) but it is little to much form me.
All in all great submission!  Please checkout our game!

Liked the stile, i have just one complain: can't really tell how much i am moving in the arena

What a SMOOTH gameplay experience, I really enjoyed the game :))

Minimal graphics, but effective on the gameplay. The BG music fits good and it's a very good concept of a "Classic Shooter with Expansion" :>

[btw, this was my HI-SC)

A fun old school shooter. I liked it!

Very cool game, nice action, and nice game feel to it (thought always improvable with some polish).

If you want to continue with the development of the game, I have a few suggestions that might be helpful:

  1. Add some decorations or texture to the arena, to the background: they can help with making you not feel lost as you move, because when there are no enemies or coins/particles on screen, you cannot really see where and how fast you are moving, but with decorations or patterns on the background you will obviously have a sense of where you are going and how fast you are moving (and also let you better see how much you scale up with each upgrade);
  2. Lower the difficulty curve at start, since I feel like when the big triangle spawn, they are so fast I always lose (obviously, it's me being not skilled enough for the game, but maybe having a lower difficulty at start and then increasing the difficulty later so the game stays challenging may be a better approach to make players not quit the game after a few instant-death attempts);
  3. For some visual adjustments, maybe try to see how the game looks if you reduce bloom radius and add or increase the vignette effect a bit (bloom is very high, which can immediately make a programmer-art game look better obviously, but also be too overwhelming if you overuse it... but that's just a matter of personal preferences, if you like the bloom like it is and don't feel like changing it, that's your choice obv)

Nice game overall, nice mechanic and interpretation of the theme

Definitely getting some diep.io vibes from it, and its pretty good! Visual style is good, as well as controls. But it was a little too much bloom for me.

Good easy, visually simple but appealing, like a shooter version of Agar.io

it was fun for a bit, though the only issue is the enemy spawn, as they can appear out of nowhere when you eliminated the last one to trigger the respawn, I lost instantly and I had no control over it, so maybe spread the enemies away from the player and it would be more fun.

other than that, it was a good game.

Thank you for rating my game!  I'll keep that in mind if I continue development on this game.

Game is really simple but the presentation is really good!  Interesting interpretation of the expansion mechanic where your size also functions as your hp. Only issue I have is that the constant screenshake can make it dificult to navigate at times

Developer

Thank you for rating my game! Just to clarify, there should only be screenshake when shooting enemies. Is that what you meant by constant screenshake or is there always screenshake no matter what you are doing?

Hi ecler, thanks for playing my game! I'll be sure to check yours out.

Hi, firstly, I really like the graphics of your game and also the description on the itch.io page. The killing effect is very satisfying. One thing I will definitely add would be maybe some titles on the ground, you can see how and where are you moving, but great game overall. (I would be grateful if you would try my game as well, even though it's not completed at all). Good luck on other game jams :).

Hey BodjaStudios, Thanks for reviewing my game! I would've liked to add some sort of frame of reference to provide the player with more feedback on direction when enemies aren't around if I had the time to do so. I'll make sure that I try out your game as well!
