This. Was. AMAZING. Omg. You've done an incredible job. I don't want to spoil this for anyone, but my heart heart skipped several beats during this seemingly simple farming simulator.

If I wasn't awake before I started playing, I sure as hell am now. 0_0 Fantastic entry.

The thing I want to point out the most is, the ambience is just incredible! It's all in the subtle details like the use of muted colours, animation, changes in the environment which, when combined, create the suspense and have a very immersive effect. As a result, the gameplay is very pleasant and I really enjoyed exploring the map and all the stuff we can do. And the unexpected part! It made me go all the way from “wait, what” to “oh no” in a span of ten seconds, like. c'mon guys. I just wanted to peacefully plant my tomatoes :D
It's charmingly simple and yet somehow managed to left me feeling that there's so much more to the story (for example, I was stubbornly trying to interact with different random objects hoping they'll tell me more about what's going on because I NEEDED to know okay), which is amazing c:

Amazing work. I love the arts and sound. But about story and gameplay — I prefer to wait for final version ;) Just so as not to get upset.

Developer

Thank you!  And totally understandable, I'm still working on it!  :D

This has to be one of my favorite games of the jam! The art, gameplay, all of it works super well! And without spoiling anything, the body animations are fantastic. After a while I ran out of ideas (don't know what the thing in the woods was but I couldn't interact with it), but it was a blast until that!

Developer

Thank you so much!! :D

Wow, there really was a lot of love put into this game and I enjoyed this small little experience you've made :) I can't believe you did so much within so little time (player customization, fully functional farming, camera work, scene transitions, etc.) And my favorite part is definitely the visual appeal he game provides! I love the way you used lighting (lights coming from the lamp post, furnace and the day-and-night cycle) to make the scenery & environment feel more dynamic. I especially love the swinging light in the barn which was nicely complimented by the way you colored the silhouettes and the floor. The bugs that swarmed around the lights and the grass waving in the wind also really added to the overall environment. I think you might enjoy reading through https://natureofcode.com/book/introduction/, where the perlin noise section describes a way to simulate natural movement.

Not sure what the unexpected thing was (I played until day 18), but I kept expecting some kind of jumpscare for some reason. The background music stopped after a while, and the game crashed when I tried to walk all the way to the right. It might be helpful to try to scope a smaller project next time? You clearly know what you're doing, but there's a lot to a farming game to be done within such a short amount of time.

Wow!  First of all, thank you so much for all of your kind words!  After this long jam and so many bugs and last minute issues; your kind words just made my night! :D  Very true, about over-scoping -but also a fun challenge!  Surprised you made it to day 18 without anything happening.  Am still updating so will make sure that's no longer an issue -thank you!  And also, will check out that perlin noise section (I've experimented with it in the past) but always cool to learn new uses!  Thanks again!
