Episode description
In the episode King Ramses' curse, a character takes a slab that is cursed by King Ramses. When asked to return the slab, the character refuses and the family is forced to suffer through a series of plagues that I took some inspiration from when deciding the plagues for my game until they return it.

Anything you want to say to players before they play?
If you're having trouble, remember to go to the shop from the menu to get some upgrades once you've gotten a couple fragments (You get fragments based on how many slabs you get in a run). I recommend getting the first money upgrade first ;)

Infinitely late but I uploaded a review video to youtube and your game is a part of it! Check it out here:

Liked this game and the varying challenges throughout. Also loved the sound effects and thought they were funny. My main problem was the upgrades. The most costly ($20 and $30) seemed pointless. The $20 one was only one-use, but it took 10 games (if you're lucky enough to find 2 fragments in each) just to get that amount, even more for the $30 upgrade. I feel like lowering the cost, or just adding more ways to get money (for example, surviving a plague) would be helpful. The other upgrades seemed to be off-balance, too. Before the upgrades, certain plagues were extremely difficult, sometimes unwinnable if you get unlucky. After the upgrades, I didn't have to really try at all.

The expensive items were honestly a late decision to add something of a end game (along with these I also added the permanently unlocking the 2 doors) and I tried to make speedrunning an option after you "beat" the game, thus the run time at the run over screen. I made the decision to not continue development after the jam was over, but if I ever do come back to it, I agree it needs rebalancing. Thanks!

Woah, so... I didn't hate it.

BUT I did have some aggression toward it!  The plagues took so long... They were so hard without upgrades... And then when I did have upgrades, the RNG of having to find the slabs was just soul crushing... I tried really hard to win, but couldn't get it to happen.  I think the pace of the game could be picked up a little to really add some effect!

Great work!

Excellent game, keep me going round after round to see if i can do better each time! I like the art style, and the recorded sound effects .. very creative! :) Well done! Great tip about getting the money upgrade first ;)

I really felt like I was playing through a Courage the Cowardly Dog episode, and that's awesome! Great Job! I loved all the different curses.

Am I supposed to be able to return to the menu to buy stuff in between plagues? That's the only point that confused me. Naturally I want to hit Escape to see a menu and that just exited me out of the game.

Overall pretty awesome! Courage games unite!

On the run over screen (The "You win!" or "You lose!" screen), you can play again or return to the menu and then the shop. You can consider  each "run" as a level basically. It's just what I call it. Each run consists of 5 plagues and you need to get 5 slabs to win the run. Also, interesting input about the escape button thanks!
