Funny yet challenging game. I included it in my Touhou Jam 5 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
Man I did love playing Learn to Fly. I was kind of expecting the horse to run faster as you upgrade it. Anyhow, this has been a fun li'l game.
At last, someone else whose played Learn to Fly!
Also, the horse *does in fact* speed up, at least in terms of the animation speed + background scroll speed. Will make the change more noticeable!
Pretty sweet. Simple gameplay loop but addictive.
buy a second head
the candy RNG time for me to be hit 2 times in a row without time to jump
big brain moves, buy 6 heads
get hit 6 times in a row
I'm really good at this game
also, I think that if you spam eat button and die, you lose more than one life
Love the music by the way
Simple and effective gameplay !
An addictive runner with some upgrades, nice job !
I manage to block my stability bar (don't ask me how : I was looking for the
countereating key), prefered to restart a run since it is way funnier the classic way =DSome floaty candy could had been nice, like you would had to both jump and eat on specific timing =P
The game mechanism is concise while attractive. And the music is stylishly arranged. Though I am not good at this type of games, I still try to survive longer to hear the full audio.
Hey this is a nice idea and it's put together well! I like the upgrade system, though I feel like what's really missing for replayability is some reason not to just do the same action, like obstacles that aren't candy or you're not supposed to jump over because they pass under you. Anyway i liked getting into the zen of playing it once i got the hang of it. The eating timeframe seems a bit small and arbitrary and I just started timing it with when the candy gets to the horse's horn, but that's not bad or anything. I do wish the UI for keeping her upright was closer to the head so I didn't have to play funny eye games the whole time, but I adapted to it quickly enough. Anyway, great job!
I suck at this game so much, it frustrated me a lot. I don't think I'm really qualified to rate this game, but I have to say that you can see the effort put into it.
I also like Sekibanki a lot and making her a headless horseman was a great idea.
Yeah, it caught me off guard too(what were the programmers thinking xD), but it should get better once you get a few upgrades in.
Feel free to leave a rating regardless, thanks for checking it out.
Perfect concept with flawless execution. Beautiful.
Detailed animations, simple yet challenging controls and objectives, decent character and background arts, soothing and relaxing music. What else can one expect from a jam game?
And it even has a progression system that keeps you around for awhile.
Here's my personal best. I don't think I can lose by only jumping so I started eating candies along the way. It's matter of endurance with all the upgrades.
Oh my god, how did you get that far? Think my personally best was only like 4000m.
Anyways, thanks for checking it out, glad you enjoyed it.
she can ride a horse so well now, I'm so proud of her and hope she doesn't contract diabetes and/or death from all that candy with the wrappers still on
Don't worry, Yōkais won't contract diabetes and can probably digest plastic. xD
A lovely headless horseman and a funny game. Nice job! Just a little hard to eat candy.
Sweet game! at first the difficulty caught me a bit off balance, but I didn't lose my head over it and ended up having a good ride.
Didn't take long for the puns to start rolling in
You two really got 'ahead' of the pack with these puns didn't you.
