I loved the frantic action of having to dodge and attack gnomes, while keeping my plants alive in the hope that they would defend me. I was admittedly not very good at it, but I still had a great time playing this game. I would have preferred the interaction also to be done using the mouse (maybe with right-click?) but other than that everything played very smoothly! I also enjoyed your pixel art very much, it looks polished and cute and fits the game really well! Great work!

This was fun! Really great work on the art. I got myself stuck in a situation at one point where what looked like an inventory menu was open, but I couldn't figure out how to close or interact with it and ended up dying :( Nice work overall, though!
I like the game the controls were pretty decent although it took me a bit to figure them out haha. I don't like how little control I get over the gun with how they only have 8 directions but the art and audio is pretty good. Nice job and I'd love to see this game expanded on!
oh the visuals are so charming!! Big fan of the gnomes for sure.
Again, like some others I had a little bit of a learning curve of what I had to do in places, and it got a little chaotic but I had fun playing it! Would love to play further if you updated it too :)
Thanks for jamming again!!
I like the idea of this game, and gnomes as the enemies are a fun inclusion. The controls were a little unintuitive, but the gameplay made sense, and was fun. I definitely see that the game concept would accommodate more scope. It would be easy to add more plant types and more enemies. Also, I like the decision to outline the sprites with white. It give them a cool look.
I second what everyone said before me about the pace and controls, I think you could've made it a lot better by sticking to the conventional way of binding actions to the 12345 keys (yeah it's unoriginal but if it works it works!). However I think that the difficulty in aiming the gnomes with the pea shooter is interesting and adds challenge!
Super cute and charming game, loved the aesthetics and general vibes!! It was a lot of fun blasting gnomes, but I think having just a tiny bit sharper controls (maybe using numbers to select tools, being able to click on a plant to select it, etc) would be great. Other than that, though, outstanding stuff!!!
Good concept, but the controls were a bit hard to learn. Overall fun game :)
Fun concept, great art. Would be nice if planting and watering were right click or some other button instead of requiring you to switch tools. Maybe have a ui element for it. You could also make it so if ur standing in front of a plant and press a button it waters so you dont have to switch to the watering can either.
Pretty fun game, it gets VERY hectic very quickly. Not sure if there are more enemies than gnomes, I couldn't keep up with the defense fast enough to not get overwhelmed, unsure if there are more tools / enemies.
In general, you can only really support like 5-6 plants around the well, and then you can place some additional plants for bait. If I could water more than one plant at a time, or I didn't have to water fully grown plants, this would be more strategic. As it is, you will eventually not be able to keep up.
I'd suggest some changes to the watering mechanics to make it feel more rewarding to plant away from the well. (since each plant really needs to kill at least like 3 dudes to even out)
The music is VERY loud.
The controls feel good and the sfx for the gun pop are nice. The music was nice but pretty loud though
