This game was stellar, and of particular note are all the options and settings. I really appreciate the attention to detail for accessibility here. The story was well told, and there were plenty of creepy moments that kept me engaged. I enjoyed the puzzles a lot.

Great job!

Developer

Thank you, especially for the puzzle since this is my first time trying something like that!

A fantastic adventure game that relishes in its atmosphere. Everything from the period visuals and user interface that evoke an older adventure game, to the subtle but highly effective soundtrack create the impression of a fully realised creative vision. The core concept of an abandoned hotel plagued by media networks with cult ties is a unique one and the lore of the game is well embedded in the environment the player can observe and investigate. This would have demolished those old-style room escape games like The Crimson Room back in the day. All I can say is that I hope you continue being able to come up with and create games like this - it's a pleasure to play!

Thanks for being part of the Scream TV jam!

Such style and grace! The option to have the filter on at the beginning got you big points in my book too. I really enjoyed the aesthetics, story, and puzzles. The music is all wonderful (especially your unused track) and it all left me wanting a lot more. Great work altogether! It's really impressive what you can do with Ren'Py in a week.

Developer

thank you!! finally someone who found out the secret music track!

This game is so well polished and enjoyable, the story leaves us wanting more, the puzzles are well-made, and the interface is a joy to use. Can't wait to see more of it :)

Really nice work on the menus, post-processing effect, but the story above all. Was funny world ended while sleeping haha It reminded me a bit of Hotel Paradise VR without the action but keeping the tension/suspense.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I didn't know about that game but I'll have to check it out for future inspiration!

Loved the entire experience, you had me hooked for the entire ride. I managed to get two endings and was left craving for more.

The music was *chef's kiss* excellent, would love to see it taken further! I want to solve the mistery of  the grand Sylvan Hotel!

Very solid entry. it is very weel done, has a lot of atmosphere and the setting and story are a very good fit for the jam. One of my favourite.

<3 (please make a mac version of your game!)

My favourite game so far. The aesthetics are superb and the music as well. I honestly did not expect that many polish features like testing the screen effect or an elaborate menu and feel like you could have just let that out for the jam version - bonus points on enjoyment and aesthetics I guess!

I also loved the TV channels and the sound design there - Drama was probably my favourite one, along with dancing and occult :D.

Developer

Thank you so much! <3  Luckily I had already used the CRT filter in a previous game (Undead Air) so I knew what to do, that saved a lot of time. Of course I had in mind a lot of easter eggs for tv channels and phone numbers that couldn't be implemented in time but I'm glad you enjoyed the ones that are there for the jam version!

Dang, the world ended just because I was sleepy...

Very cool! Great exposition and establishment of the setting. I played through a couple times but could never find a way out of the room that didn't end in death; I assume that's all that's in for now. Really makes me want more, I'm hungering for some plot resolution!

Anyways, great work!

Developer

Thank you! Yes, for now the only ending is death, but of course it can be expanded in the future (I already have something in mind for what really happened lol) !

This was super fun! The aesthetic was on point, and your use of Ren'Py was enjoyable. As someone who programs in Ren'Py a lot, I will say you did a great job customizing the engine. I saw a few endings but didn't play everything because once I knew the answers, the game wasn't prepared for me to do things, so it was a little out of order. But for a game jam game it was fun and unique.

Developer

thank you so much! Don't worry, you didn't miss much, there's only one ending (and one joke bad ending), like you said a lot had to be cut due to jam time! Looking forward to play your game too
