Very slick and crisp visuals! – Though I had quite some trouble getting to the next question I’ve to admit.

It’s quite interesting how many people took the ‘remember this, then reproduce’ interpretation of the theme, and still end up with such different games!

Other than that … well, there’s some humor in the randomness of the text and graphs, and I quite like the sound design (except maybe the intro-music – that reminded me of some tracks I generated with that wolfram music generator thing).

edit Oh, and I also appreciate that you can set the difficulty in the side-menu.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Good to know on the intro music! Music is a weak point for me, as you could tell, so I threw that together in about an hour. I personally like how it sounds, but if I ever release a full version, perhaps I should find a composer to make a better track!

The one and clear winner for typography! and doodles :)

A pretty unique take on the theme and very nice polish. There was a bit of struggle with the controls, but eventually an exam was passed :P 💜

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! 💚

Good point on the controls - they aren't very clear. I will look into adding some more button prompts!

I love this game so much. Partly because I'm a sucker for randomly generated games, and partly because it's just fun and interesting and refined. I saw someone mention Brain Training below, and it feels spot on- this really does feel like a first party Nintendo title. Not only in terms of polish- but also because it focuses on one thing, executes it so well, and combined with the textbook graffiti just oozes personality. Thanks for making it.

Wow this is a super super kind comment, thank you so much. I'm so glad you loved it!! I hope to refine it some more after the jam ends, adding some stuff, tweaking the difficulty, etc. It was a lot of fun to make, and I want to give it one final coat of paint.

Thanks for the kind words, and the doodles (I hope you were lucky enough to see them pop up in game!) 💚

Ahh yes, just the game I need while prepping for finals!

It's a very interesting take on the theme and the level of polish and detail in the game surprised me! Everything about this game reminds me of cramming for an exam and the anxiety you get when you're completely lost on the exam as you hear the time left just ticking away. Very well done!

Developer(+1)

Hahaha, thank you!!! Hopefully this game didn't jumble your brain too badly lol

And best of luck on your finals!! 💚

So many little extra touches that make this so much more than it appears to be. Thanks for reminding me reading comprehension was my lowest SAT score

Submitted(+2)

Forgot (hehe) to mention this, but I love how much polish this game has! this is something like genuinely Nintendo quality, reminds me of Brain Age for the Nintendo DS and this being done with such little time is admirable!

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much!! 💚

I think I spent half of my time polishing it as much as I could haha

And you're right, this does have some Brain Age vibes to it!

i am not great in this one, but i was also never great in school so who am i to judge 💤

the vibe of this one is super great, brings me back to that time of school, eyeing the big clock hanging over the door every few seconds; with the big difference that this game makes me feel much less compelled to try and fake a bathroom trip to get out of it. the doodles are a super awesome community aspect (who doesn't draw in the margins of their paper honestly?), and i'm definitely gonna try to brush up on my studies more...i'll just remember to use a pencil next time; jammed the whole damn scantron

Developer(+1)

hahahahaha thank you rae! 💚

thank you for the kind words, I mean. I'll be sending you the bill for the scantron repairs

Submitted(+1)

Very creative approach, a bit difficult for me but visually very pleasing :)

The doodles were neat touch. Great use of the crank and the little sound effects for things. I like the just one more aspect I get with trying to see how far I can get without writing anything done. That hook worked like a charm, well done!

This game makes me anxious in a good way. The somewhat ominous title screen music, the ticking clock, the half-nonsense text. Doodles were also a great touch. I love to see this level of polish in a solo submission.

Extremely difficult for me past level 2, I must admit to cheating (taking paper notes). I quit at 11 as my hand was cramping from writing!

Developer(+2)

Haha perfect!! That's the vibe I was going for!

I will definitely revisit balancing if/when I update this post-jam!

And I wouldn't consider that cheating! I think that could be a really fun way to play! 💚

I like the random aspects! makes the game a lot more replayable than other games
