Fun one! Took just a bit to figure out, and then I enjoy quickly spot checking what did the guy forget... as it makes no sense with the events! xD

I found the voice a good contribution to the tone of the game as it matches the graphics, but shame that things don't make more sounds! Doggo should make a sound 💜
As others said, some progression (score/difficulty) would be nice, but what I missed the most was being able to use the crank to scroll the list.

Thanks for the feedback!

Took just a bit to figure out […]

Maybe some kind of tutorial is necessary. I only added some “Help” section in the menu but maybe that’s not enough.

That’s a good point, I’ll look into this! :)

I really like the slightly offputting aesthetic of this game! A pretty simple game, but executed well.

I could easily see some more stuff being added to this game beyond the game jam. I think it could be really funny if you got to see and hear him actually go to the events he's preparing for, possibly adding some extra interactive elements to those as well.

Good idea, maybe I will add a story mode in future :D

Most of the fun here is in the inherent humor that comes from going to your wedding without any legwear. – Not that that’s a bad thing!

It doesn’t seem to get much harder over time? I played this on the train (busy mid-week, also the reason I’m only doing the writeups now…), and at some point I just had to cut it off, so I missed on purpose to see what would happen.

Anyway, this does fit the theme well indeed.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m in the process of adding a highscore system and a difficulty system that increases with higher scores. Hopefully this will add more incentive to keep going :)

The voiceover is so choice 😂 so much character and charm in here! The illustrations with certain combos got me giggling too

Developer(+2)

Glad to hear I achieved some of the intended effects! I may want to add more items and events in a future version :)

This is one of those games that I know could have me coming back for more and more. The way the voices are implemented and the visuals make it really entertaining and I can totally see with some levelling and achievement feedback that this could be a super addictive little game. Really enjoyed. It's nice to see a kind of brain training game on here too - reminded me of time spent with the Wii.

Thanks, nice to hear you enjoyed the game! I’m already working on the next update, which should add more of the basic functionality like visualisation for the timer, difficulty system, highscore and some kind of “health system”, so stay tuned, the update will probably come out after the voting period :)

I love the voiceover, makes me crack everytime🤣

Developer

Yeah the TTS stuff is so funny sometimes :D

i really love the concept behind this one, reminds me of that classic trope of "guy is in such a rush to leave for work that he forgets his pants or something otherwise super important" 😆 i agree with the other comments that it'd be nice to see your final score tallied up at the end. plus, some kind of additional suspense or increasing difficulty to the game would be vewy nice (e.g. you get less and less time to see what you need, or there's a time limit to find the right missing thing too? increasingly more things to find?) but the hook has very strong potential here

Developer(+2)

Thank you very much! Yes, I agree, there are definitely some TODOs to improve this game, I’ll start with an updated version soon, thanks a lot for your feedback! 🙏

Awesome sound system and voice over.
Match well with the jam theme !

I played an simulator (my device A button is kind of blocked :s) , when i select something with A it's go directly to game over after speaker tell the word?
Did i miss something to play it well?

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! :)

If the item you selected is wrong then yes it’s normal (unfortunately :D). You don’t have any “health” just one try. That’s also something I’ll improve after the voting period, it’s just too harsh :D

It's weird, i don't remember my object to be wrong :s
First for example i have the object to get list, then i choose one element of this list and it go to game over.

Developer

Hmm not sure, as mentioned this should only happen if you select the wrong item but maybe there is still some bug somewhere, I need to check that :D

The voice over was a great touch, I agree with paulstraw, I wish I saw my score at the end but this was a fun little distraction, nice work.

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback! This time I was a bit more into making it look more polished (sounds and graphic wise), but I think some kind of highscore would encourage the player a bit more to play the game more often :D

Submitted(+1)

Definitely would help keeping people coming back. Always gotta beat that high score!

I enjoyed the announcer voice. It'd be nice to see your score when you lose. You can also press the button to select multiple times currently, which might influence scores depending on how you implement.

Developer

Yeah I also wanted to add some kind of score, will do this after the voting period, it’s on my TODO list :)

Yep that’s some weird bug I also noticed yesterday, luckily I haven’t implemented the score so I don’t have to worry about this one at the moment :D

Thanks for the feedback! :)
